    Prickly pear drink

I ordered a number one a couple of prickly pear drinks. Food and service were good! Drive thru girl was friendly! Restaurant was clean.

Sad excuse for a large fry

It's been a year, thought I'd give it another shot. Can I give a -star? Wow! Filthy. Sloooooooooow and just nasty all around. Won't be back. The lady behind the register, bless her heart, has to be in her 70's. She walks away mid order to talk to someone else in the back. Then comes back and forgets what she was doing. this place needs help! This is not my TEXAS Whataburger!! Hope you only want lemonade

This has got to be the slowest Whataburger ever! Drive thru took 35 minutes tonight. Food was even old and cold.

That being said, it had been some time since I've gotten some proper fish-n-chips. I had to remedy that. Especially since the BBQ fiasco the other day, I was going to go on a hunger strike, but once I made the sign, I got potato chip fingers on it and started to eat it. So, I decided to fight fire with fire, and figured I would eat myself happy again. Which I'm never mad about. Sometimes I make myself angry just so I can eat myself happy. And now, the rest of the story. I have learned that I enjoy Cod fish for my fish-n-chips. And I think also Haddock. I am not a fisher nor a fish. So it's hard for me to say. But I know Cod is one for sure. I also sometimes have baby mouth and am afraid of new things. I do know I love my fish battered and deep fried. I also know that Shark Shack had good reviews for their fish, so, that was all I needed to hear. Plus, it was a perfect little eatery with bar seating, table seating, and gifts! So you can bet your bottom dollar tomorrow I ordered the English fish-n-chips. Boy oh boy. Just like how Britain colonized all those countries back when it was the cool thing to do, these fish and chips colonized my taste buds. Respectfully. This plate came with FIVE logs of fish. FIVE! Maybe they were tubes of fish? Honestly, I don't care what shape they came in, they looked perfectly crunchy and perfectly brown and perfectly fish. The super cool extra bonus? These fish came with CRISPIES! I've only ever seen crisps with fish from Long John Silvers, whose fish is probably as far from Cod or Haddock as legally possible. I actually think one of my pieces of fish from there had shoelaces. Didn't matter. Still ate it. Respectfully. (If you aren't privileged enough to know what fish crispies are, there little batter pieces that fry or fall off the fish as they cook. Basically little crumblies. If you make a wish over a fork of them and get the forkful in your mouth without dropping any, your wish will come true). Homemade tartar sauce was good, but there was a certain flavor profile that I wasn't a fan of. It was still good to use on the fish rods, it just tasted a little too much out of the tartar sauce field for me. The meal was wrapped up nice and tight with lovely square-cut fries. Perfect doneness. Perfect Ketchup vessel. I could just stare at a pile of them all night. Mostly because I'm weird. I decided to lean more toward the 4-star side, so here we are. While in Galveston for a quick weekend getaway, we wanted to go out for dinner. Katie's was my first choice, but the wait was too long, so I pulled up Yelp to see what else was recommended. Shark Shack had great reviews, and when we arrived there was zero wait, so we went for it. The one area where I docked a star was the service. We were seated immediately but waited quite a while for our server to appear, and then even longer to get our drinks. I was so excited for a margarita, but when it arrived in a plastic cup, I was immediately disappointed. Plastic cups are for the beach and nightclubs, not a restaurant with a bar. And that's not where the awful drink experience ended -- it was so weak and just not good at all. Our server seemed so disinterested in everything: taking our order, answering questions, and when it came time to pay, we had to wait ages to see him and wave him down. The food was decent with no major complaints. It wasn't "blow your mind" amazing, but it was good. The owner -- well, I assume he was the owner -- came and spoke to us when he found out my husband was military, and he was really nice, friendly, and very supportive of the military community, offering a very generous military discount. That definitely raises the rating and is much appreciated, so thank you. Overall, the big fixes for me would be the service and the drink situation. I can't say we would rush to come back just because we love Katie's for the service, food, and drinks..

Lots of good options on the menu, and I was craving their famous cinnamon roll pancakes, but then a server brought out migas to a table and I immediately knew I wanted that instead. Here, it's a little opposite from most places, you gotta pick your seat first then order as the seats, especially the tables, are hard to come by at times. There are plenty stools along the window but the tables are better and most tables are family style so you'll likely be meeting someone new. I also added a chocolate bread pudding for myself which looked really good. The rest of my group ordered the granny's breakfast with sausage, 2 scrambled eggs and Benny's tostadas. The food comes out surprisingly quick for as busy as they are. Everything was so delicious! I ate a little of the bread pudding at the restaurant, then eventually ate the rest over the course of the next few hours. Yum! This restaurant is highly recommended!

After you finally order you get to try and find one of their dirty tables to sit at then wait way too long for terrible food. The food could not be more terrible, this is what they call biscuits and gravy and it tasted as bad as it looks, I think the best way to describe the color of the gravy is orange, which is weird. I had one bite of the biscuit and gravy and it was so bad that the stray cat that jumped on our table did not even want it, but it could have also been because of all the flies because the little fly fan at our table did not work but it also might have been from the constant smell from the sewer drain located right in the seating area. My wife had a chicken bagel egg sandwich- not good....all our food went in the trash. This is not a restaurant it is a disaster, do not believe the positive reviews.

Had the shrimp baskets. I believe they hand-batter the shrimp--they were very good! Our server was super-friendly, and the place is clean. For dinner, we decided to go pick up something. We both had a patty melt, and they were fantastic! Double Swiss on it, a large patty, and grilled onions. We got chips and guacamole too, and it was fresh and delicious! 10/10 - Highly Recommend!…read more This place is truly a one-stop shop for delicious seafood. Let me start by saying everything we ordered was fresh, piping hot, and definitely hit the spot. For appetizers, we had a cup of gumbo and fried okra. The okra was perfectly breaded and came with a side of ranch. The gumbo was served with a slice of buttery, delicious bread, such a nice touch. The flavor was good overall, though it could've used just a bit more seasoning. Still, we cleaned the bowl completely! For entrées, we ordered the catfish po' boy with a side of onion rings and the shrimp tacos. The po' boy was light but still very filling. My only suggestion would be to add a little more tartar sauce, but otherwise it was great. The onion rings were perfect, huge, crispy, and they give you plenty! The shrimp tacos were also light and well-balanced, with just the right amount of toppings and sauce. Every bite was so good... as you can probably tell from the picture...my boyfriend couldn't even wait to dig in Now for the service: the two ladies working were friendly and helpful. We came in right before closing, and they still treated us like we were their first customers of the day, which we really appreciated. As for the atmosphere, it's cute, simple, and very on-theme with seahorse decor throughout. The tables were clean and well-kept. Honestly, it looks even better on the inside than the outside. Don't underestimate this little hole-in-the-wall, it might just surprise you!

I dove directly into my coconut shrimp and forgot to take a photo. I actually finished the plate which is a major rarity for me. I also tried the hush puppies and cilantro lime rice (with COCONUT!)... both of which are the best I've had in this entire area. The hush puppies have the perfect amount of jalapeño in them. For drinks, I had a loaded landshark (always refreshing and lovely) and a frozen house margarita. Yum! The only thing I'd recommend they improve upon is the indoor chair material. Fabric is never a good option, especially in a kid-friendly place. While comfortable, it's not worth the messes that get stuck to them. I had to switch chairs around and settle for the least dirty one. It's not a good look and no one wants to sit atop another person's spill.

We met on the early side of the evening and were seated right away. Our server was super nice and very helpful. We ordered drinks and later ordered our meals. The drinks were tasty. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter. It was very good and had a lot of seafood on it. I ate less than half of it and took the rest home for dinner the next night. My wife ordered Fish Tacos and felt they were "okay" - not extraordinary. She too took half her meal home to eat the next day. I also want to add that we rode up the elevator with the Food and Beverage Manager and he was quite pleasant. In fact, every employee we met at Fin's greeted us warmly and were quite cheery. We'll eat at Fin's next year when we return.
