We had just arrived in Galveston and were excited to finally try the chain since we do not have one in our hometown. The staff was welcoming and friendly, but the furniture felt sticky and greasy and definitely needed a deep cleaning. The food itself was okay and matched the price point, but nothing stood out. The fries had no flavor or crisp, and the burger was falling apart and smooshed even though we were dining in. The biggest concern that I saw were the small bugs along the walls and windows. They were quite visible. There is unfortunately no excuse for crawling insects in a restaurant. The low prices and nice staff are great, but I would not return because of the food quality and the clear food safety concerns. I would be open to trying other Whataburger locations, but this one needs serious attention. read more

I frequent Whataburger every Thursday for me and my co worker on the Seawall. Today the service was dry at the price thru windows and then the food was cold as if it sat or someone else returned it for being the wrong order. The first indicator was the wrinkled wrapper as if was re-wrapped. I opened it and it was cold. The cheese wasn't melty like it normally is so I reheated it but could only have the bottom portion. Was visiting Galveston with friends and family and we decided to drop in for burgers shakes and fries. I really enjoyed my #2 Jalapeños cheese and bacon burger every bite was everything I imagined. The fries and onion rings were very tasty, hot and fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meals and thought this was a great location. The cashier lady T.T. showed us great hospitality, very beautiful smile and great attitude doing her job, she even offered to refill our drinks and emptied our trays. Service was horrible. Made an excuse of busy and spring break then proceeded to forget multiple orders and just skip them. Then the cashier was an asshole for awhile until the manager came. Had to dig in the trash for a receipt to get a refund because "it wasn't in the system." Worst experience in a fast food place ever. read more

Rude manager named Cheryl completely ruined the experience. She was dismissive, spoke with an attitude, and showed zero interest in helping or resolving anything. Customer service like that is unacceptable and made the visit frustrating and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this location because of how management treats customers. read more

ordered they app, arrived and punched in curb 4, still took over 20 min, to get order, i even called after 10 min to clarify my order was acknowledged from app. Young lady brought my food and said she needed to bring me drinks. waited another 7 min and another young man brought my drinks. is it just a whataburger thing or is speed of service not in there Vocabular? none I have been to offer a hot meal or speed of service, yet they charge you like it's a 5 star meal. So long story short I orded two salads for carryout I get there and they are not that busy bet they have a good crowd. Well the lady was asking did anyone have online's orders a couple of people said yes and gave their names , well I said my name and she was like hold on ma'am. Well first off I wasn't complaining I was just letting you know I was here. When I finally got my salads I specifically said is the ranch in the bag and she said yes, I get home finally sit down after along day at work and open the bag and guess what there's not any ranch. So I get up to back up there and I walk in, I'm kinda upset, but there was some customers there that were there whenever I left and then they see me walk back in, so I was being funny and I said guess what they forgot me ranch after I asked, I was joking and some people knew I was. Well the lady felt some type of way and wanted me to go back home to get my receipt and I told her I don't have it it's at home I'm out driving all the way back to get my receipt. And in the other little lady she was like don't be talking to my manager like that. First off I didn't want any drama, I'm a regular customer just give me my ranch and if you don't have a sense of humor then I'm sorry. went there this morning for breakfast, drive-through I ordered two honey butter biscuits and one breakfast burger, one of the honey butter biscuits with no honey butter, and I ended up with three honey butter biscuits and no breakfast burger. Trey had great customer service and patience even though it was Midnight and the food was amazing

This was easily the worst restaurant experience I've had in my life. I waited over an hour for my food after ordering, and could see that many other people who ordered around the same time experienced something similar. The staff were involved in altercations with other customers while I was there, so I chose to leave after waiting over an hour with no food. I don't plan on getting food from Whataburger ever again after tonight's experience, despite previous positive visits at this location. read more

This Whataburger location did an awesome job taking my order. I believe the lady was derika or Erika working the drive through on 03/09 night. She had a positive attitude taking my requests and double checked my order making sure she got it right on her end. there was a pretty long line inside and at drive through, but I didn't expect anything else because this place is popular! My go-to order for Whataburger would be a classic Double meat add grilled onions with double cheese (1 cheddar/pepper jack!!) no pickles with a side of large fries. Their new ketchup is pretty fire in my opinion. The ONLY thing I didn't like today was their fries /: they were cold and tasted dry but the burger was good. I do recommend Whataburger to anybody! 3/5 because of the cold fries that night 4/5 because of the burger and service! Overall 3.5/5 for the night read more

If you're hungry and want food at that very moment don't even bother coming here. Why is it even considered fast food when it takes literally 45 minutes to get your order. Then when you get your order it's wrong so there goes another 20 minutes.lol Then employees have the audacity to be rude and give you attitude like you're the one who's wrong. I ordered a double whataburger and got a single patty. The fries were also not fresh or crispy at all. It sucks to pay a bunch of mobey for a crappy meal but I suppose these are first world problems. I have never eaten at Whataburger, but after moving here to Galveston, I had to find a place to replace my favorite hamburger joint, Braum's. I noticed there were a lot of bad reviews but after reading them, most of them looked like they were about service in the middle of the worst of the pandemic. So, I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. I think I found my replacement (minus the delicious ice cream - but hey, you can't have everything). We ordered burgers, fries, onion rings, coke, and a milkshake between us. The burger was huge - I couldn't eat it all. Next time, we'll share instead of buying two. The flavor of the beef was excellent. The onion rings had good flavor as well and there was actual onion inside! Not chopped stuff. The fries were good, but I liked the o rings better. The large coke was HUGE! Even my husband who wants LOTS to drink said it was more than he needed! I ordered the chocolate malt. No, it wasn't as good as Braum's, but it was adequate. I probably won't buy another one as I found it a bit too sweet to my liking, but we did drink it all! The service was fine. They are limiting seating, wearing masks, wiping between customers, but at 11am, we didn't have to wait too long at all. All in all, I think this is one of the best fast food joints I've ever eaten at. We will definitely be back. That's why the 5 stars. read more

My husband and I came to this location twice within two days and the first time the lady taking our order was a little rude so but we let it go but when we came back the next day through the drive thru, the lady was absolutely rude, when my husband told her the drink to one of our meals she responded with "oh Jesus" in the rudest tone ever! Our burgers and fries were cold and missing pickles. I wouldn't come back to this Whatabuger.

Just pulled out of this location & it was the worst customer service that I have ever experienced!!! First, Tynisha was rude while I was ordering. She kept repeating our order back to us wrong, & when I would correct her, she yelled back that she didn't say that. When we got our food, I handed my kids their meals & quickly realized my husband's was missing & so was an orange juice. We told her what food was missing & she asked if she could see the bag, which I thought was weird but I handed it to her. Then she got snappy & said she needed to see all the bags & I told her my children were eating, but she didn't care. Apparently she thought we were lying about missing the meal. Then she realized it was missing & started yelling at her coworkers. She needs to be trained asap when it comes to customer service, because I have never had an employee ask for all the food back so they could dig thru it & then hand it back to us. In fact, I always thought once food left the building, they couldn't take it back. Anyways, get better employees. read more

Arrived this evening around 7:30pm and had to wait in the drive through for 15-20 minutes just to order. We would have left, but there was no way to get out of the double lane queue stacked bumper to bumper. The order taker, and another voice over the speaker seemed unaware of the long line and took their sweet time taking the order. After taking our order, we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. From reading other reviews, and from my personal experience, the night manager is doing a terrible job. I will not be coming back in the evening. The wait is unacceptable. This location is clean and the service is great. The cashier is friendly and didn't have a nasty attitude like most Whataburger employees. I like how fast our food came out as soon as we sat down and situated ourselves our meals came out all hot and fresh. I always order from the what used to be the limited time burgers the patty melt. I asked for it to be on a toast instead of bun (some locations do switch out toast for bun or vice versa) but this location only seem to do toast for the patty melt. Everything tasted delicious, as soon as my aunt and I ordered everyone on the island decided to join us. We have been using this Whataburger for several years and have been satisfied with the food and the service. Today there was no line for breakfast which is unusual for spring break. I ordered one bacon on a bun and one sausage on a bun. And a large order of fries. I got 2 sausage BOB's and both the BOB's and the fries were cold. The fries tasted like they had been cooked the day before. I would forgive them if the place had been super busy but there was not a line. Is service slipping.
