So parking is limited, but there is an adjacent parking lot which is always mostly empty, and is where the overflow parks. There is an open walkway between the Stripes and the Jack's. Because they share a building, the inside dining room is also smaller than some in the chain. I've sometimes come here just because traffic is less than trying to get to other locations in the area. Since my last review, it seems the management has done a better job. Everything appears clean, the clerk has been friendly, they have gotten my orders right, and the food has been fresh and on par with the others. You can order with the app, online, at the kiosk, or at the counter. I didn't want to stop to use the app, so I ordered at the counter for some take-out. When I was handed my order (calling me by name), I was told there was no marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks - that would have been good to know when I placed the order. The drinks are dispensed from one large dispenser that has a touch screen to choose your beverage of choice. I am not fond of their choices, as most contain way too much sugar, artificial flavors, and / or tons of food coloring, so I chose the Minute Maid lemonade. One thing I appreciate is that breakfast is served all day. So, in case you prefer an egg and cheese biscuit for dinner, it can be done. This entire corner is being developed, so across from Jacks there is a beautiful new Murphy USA gas station and convenience store. Catty corner from Jacks is a Whataburger. Across Closner (Bus. 281) is the Junior Supermarket and small shopping center including a McDonald's, Little Caesars, Church's Chicken and a new Starbucks. North Edinburg is growing up! So perhaps that's why this Jacks has improved their performance.

Their tacos (al pastor, bistec, tripa) are delicious and filling. I've also had their tostadas and papas. This time I ordered the papas con carne bistec. This is a huge baked potato, topped with butter, cheese, and chopped bistec. It is served with totopos and salsa, wrapped in foil to go. I thoroughly enjoyed it and barely finished all of it. It was $10. When I have been before, it was a man running the place. This time it was a lady. I detected no difference in food quality or service. The service is friendly and efficient. I called ahead to place my order, and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. The dining room is a covered and screened in porch. They have some dwarf palm trees planted around to provide a backyard ambience. There are fans for hot weather. Tables are plastic folding tables. However, it seems most come here for the take-out. The dining room looks clean. There are no restrooms except for the ones at Vera's Drive Through across the way. I assume El Totopo's customers have access if needed. I cannot say anything about bathroom cleanliness as I've never entered there. Overall, I recommend Taquería El Totopo. While it's not fancy, they offer delicious food at competitive prices.

We went around 8:45 PM and the Ambiance was nice and quiet. There was a strange odor. My main reason for the three stars is because it's so overly priced. It was a more one and done type of thing. Because to go again and pay those prices was just not it for me.
