Was told 10-15 minute wait and gave hostess my #. I repeated the number to make sure she had it correct. Waited in car for 10 minutes then came back in and she didn't even recognize us. Then told us, after we said we're were still waiting, she said that she wasn't sure if we got the text but she did text us. Seated us and again said she wasn't sure if I got the text but she texted me. Nope I never received a text, I told her and a 3rd time she said the same. The steak, in the chicken fried steak was a good thickness and flavored very well. Everything was good, except for the waited and not being texted when table was ready. I swapped my fries for a side salad and was pleasantly surprised how good the salad was as well. We got fried shrooms to start. They were really good. Fresh. They have the good ranch so it made it all the more better. Following shortly after, we got our cheese sticks. Also very good. It's pricey for only getting three sticks though. Was hoping 5 for a small order and maybe 8 for large. But hey. We decided to get the manly sized cheese burger to share between two adults and one child. We weren't crazy hungry but we knew the starters would fill us up. It came with fries, which tasted good but better with pepper added on top for a bit more flavor. The bun of the burger was a bit dry to me in my opinion but they had condiments on the table. For an additional side, we added Mac and cheese. Kinda regret it cuz it wasn't very good. Very heavy and just tastes like you bit a block of velveeta. No additional flavors just straight thick cheese. The bacon didn't help either though you'd think it would. To top it, wasn't very hot. Luke warm Mac. Not the worst but not the best either. I'd come back for the shrooms though. Maybe try something else besides a burger. Not sorry to say but I'm not getting the Mac and cheese again. Definitely not worth it. Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening and this place was packed! It has a nice retro touch of vintage memorabilia and gives you that classic diner vibe. Our waitress was kind and attentive and gave us a detailed menu rundown. Just be warned that the portion sizes here are HUGE! and the burgers do include a side of fries. Their fries are potato wedge style and are some of the best fries I've had in a long time. The outside is well seasoned and crispy while the inside potato portion of the fry is soft and pillowy. In regards to the burger, I got the Four-Pig burger manly size which was a half-pound patty and I even had enough for leftovers. The burger came loaded with ham, bacon, and pulled pork. I'm a big fan of salty food, but with all those meats packed on the burger, it tasted a bit too salty for my preference. However, the burger patty was cooked to a perfect medium and was juicy and well-seasoned. My friend got the El Rey which was packed with bacon, avocado, and topped with a fried egg. It was not nearly as salty as mine. We also ordered milkshakes as well. I ended up going with the Strawberry milkshake while my friend ordered the vanilla milkshake. Honestly for a $7 milkshake, it was small and a bit too thick. If you're craving a dessert drink, I'd look elsewhere after you finish your burger. Overall, I'm glad that we tried out Wallbangers and we will be back to try out their other burgers as well. read more

I saw this place the other day while I was pulling into another spot. I ended up trying it out later. The place gave the vibe that it's an institution in the area. The place is decorated with a lot of nostalgia trinkets and old music memorabilia. They have three sizes of burgers. I ordered a burger of the middle size. I personally believe in tipping cashiers and the cooks that take and cook my order. I UNFORTUNATELY ordered the child's hotdog with chili/cheese tater tots and the mushroom and mozzarella hamburger loaded with with tomatoes, lettuce and onions. I picked up order, paid and thanked them and shared my order with friends. The child's hot dog had OBVIOUSLY BEEN COOKED AND REHEATED MULTIPLE TIMES! With only 60% of the tables occupied, it still took over 40 minutes to get a simple order, a kids hamburger and a chili cheese dog. While my chili cheese dog was hot, my son's kids hamburger was cold. I have been there during a weekday lunch when all or nearly all the tables are occupied and my order is out in ten to fifteen minutes. But this was Saturday and they were no full. When I asked a manager about the delay, he mentioned that he would check on it and never got back to me. Several tables were seated and ordered after us and they received their food before us. They have several kinds of fries including twist, curly, sweet potato. The fried pickles (appetizer) sound strange but are actually quite good. My family enjoys coming here from time to time if not for the food, then to bop to the hits from the BeeGee's, Queen, Olivia Newton John, and other hits from the '60's, 70's and '80's. There are large screen TVs up high everywhere with sports playing for those who want to follow whatever game is trending. Whenever we have come the bathrooms have always been clean, and the facilities well attended to. They don't have much else to offer other than burgers, wings, and fries, but what they do they do well. I drive from San Antonio Texas to try this establishment people have spoken about. It's a nice sports bar and grill. I ordered the simple girlie size cheeseburger with grilled mushrooms. I was hungry but not starving. I got my burger medium rare, it was cooked perfect, it was juicy with good fixings, one BIG disappointment, NO FLAVOR. I needed to add salt and pepper to get some flavor. The fries were very good, the atmosphere was nice, I had Judy attend me and she was Awesome. I did wonder if the staff gets lunch breaks cause I saw the bartender eating her Chik fil a nuggets while making drinks to customers. This place should be closed down. The managers on duty literally don't give a shit! First I stopped by to check a balance on a gift card. I was told to head to the bar and I would be helped. The bartender in duty was closing checks via credit card and she said said she'd be right with me. Then she turns around and yells out loud that I needed to be helped. There was a bunch of young waitresses doing TikTok dances with each other and one did a "hiding lean" to check on her table from there. Like go check your table, how can you get any feedback or see if your table needs anything?!?! Anyways, I still hadn't been helped, the bartender noticed and calls out two more times in a span of 5 minutes each that I needed help. Finally a server that the bartender flagged down that was serving the bar tables area comes up and asks what I needed. Told her I wanted to check a balance on a gift card and she's says, "oh hold on!" Literally turns around and calls a female manager. SHE WAS FUCKING THERE THE WHOLE TIME!! What a joke of a manager! I left annoyed as fuck. I drove away and said no! This is bullshit! I literally stayed on the phone for 6 minutes with no help. 6 freaking minutes, no hold music, no nothing! So I hang up and call back, guess what, the person who answered the phone and put me on hold didn't even know how to use the phone, she just left it off the hook and muted. Really!? Can't even use the phones properly? How do I know this bc I call back as soon as I hung up and they can't pick up bc "service is unavailable at moment" the message you hear when a phone isn't hung up and disconnected. For 8 minutes I can't get through. I called again, spoke to a different person and same damn outcome. 6 minutes waiting. I'm fucking furious at this point! I just want to place an order to eat. I called back another 10 minutes later and ask for a manager. The same idiot who checked my gift card answers all annoyed, I ask her what the problem is and I'm complaining about being on hold and she just gives the phone away. The general manager now answers the phone and ask me what the problem is. There I go repeating myself and told him I was gonna email and call corporate and file a complaint and before I can finish my sentence he cuts me off and says, "yeah yeah go ahead and complain, I don't care who you call and complain to....." so I hung up. Wow! I'm in shock! I can't believe this place survives and is still open! They obviously are having problems bc they have "now hiring signs for all positions" everywhere on the buildings inside and out! Screw this place. If you like being neglected, fed undercooked food, deal with lazy and moronic management that don't deserve to work for the restaurant industry, then this is the place for you! We really enjoyed their burgers first off. They basically offer two sizes, in addition to their stuffed burgers- a Manly size and a Macho size. I'm not certain of the weights of each patty but I'm guessing Manly size, which I had either 1/3 or 1/2 pound. It was very large. They start with a basic Plain Jane burger and go from there. I had the Cheesy Burger, which included a choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion, served on a delicious homemade bun. I added sautéed onions and mushrooms, which along with my Swiss cheese made it a Mushroom Swiss burger in most establishments. It came LOADED with sautéed mushrooms, so much so that they were spilling out all over the plate the burger was served on. It a slo comes with Sidewinder fries or for $1.50 more you can choose one of many other sides. I chose the onion rings. I wish I'd have stuck with the fries as the onion rings were standard fare, frozen and then fried and weren't very good. In the end I only ate one ring and could only eat 1/2 of my burger. I boxed up the rest for leftovers tomorrow. Service was decent. Our server told us up front that he was new but did an adequate job. I'd have given Wallbangers a five star rating but I felt their pricing was a little high. At least here in the Rio Grande Valley. My burger was $11 and each additional topping was $1.50 plus the extra $1.50 for the onion ring substitution. That brought the total for my burger and one side to $15.50 which is higher that I pay at Red Robin, Freddie's Steakburger or locally at Tower Burger. All in all, a good burger but a little overpriced in my opinion. But we will return I'm sure. read more

Great atmosphere as the customers enjoyed various football games on tv and old school music playing. Our food was rather simple as we ordered the fajita chicken salad. The bowl was made from tortilla shell. The salad was good. And filling with exception of eggs. My son ordered a Buffalo chicken burger which came with fries.
