I grew up in Texas and Whataburger is the best late night fast food spot because they stay open late and have some of the best sauces, including the infamous SPICY KETCHUP. The tenders are good and the wings were ok since they were not their original specialty years ago. The fries are average, yet the main event, the only and actual best sandwiches there are the four all time favorites. Since I enjoy BBQ, my personal favorite is the Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich with that classic Texas toast. Nice crispy chicken with grilled jalapeños and onions is the cherry on top. Was in the area for vacation and was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a Whataburger. There was plenty of seating inside and quite clean. At first it took time to get our order taken but it wasn't so much their fault as the family in front of us couldn't figure out what they wanted though would have been nice if there was another person helping up front. Whataburger has various burgers,Chicken sandwiches. and also have chicken "wings" which are actually nuggets. I love that they have a variety of dipping sauces you can try out. We ordered their patty melt and it was quite tasty. A tad greasy but greasy good! Once ordered, they came at a timely manner with our food. After our meals, we let our kids have a sweet treat and they went for their banana pudding Malt which was something only for a limited time. I have been a fan of Whataburger for years, and happy that they have a couple of locations in southern Colorado, so when I get down to the Springs I can get my fix. This restaurant was very clean and the wait staff very friendly. It was exceptionally busy the day we stopped and food took quite a while to come out, but it was made hot and fresh and just as good as I expected. What can I say about Whataburger except for it is one of my favorite quick burger joints. It is my go to burger while in Texas and they are expanding which is always exciting. They are now in CO Spring and was really close to my hotel. I got a burger and fries and love every bit of it. We were greeted by Terri with a smile before we ordered. The restaurant was very clean and bright. I had been wanting to try Whataburger for awhile - it had been over 30 years since I lived in Texas. I was a bit disappointed in the meat patty. It was pretty thin, making it very dry. The hamburger buns seemed smash, slightly hard. The Onion Rings and French Fries were definitely a saving grace. I was somewhat disappointed in my home state trying to pass this off to Colorado residents as a hamburger. I wonder if not everything is bigger in Texas anymore? read more

I love Whataburger. I have 3 Whataburger shirts, and I wear them. I've eaten at Whataburger hundreds of times - maybe even a thousand. At this location, perhaps a half-dozen. I'm sorry to report that usually something's messed up here. Yesterday, a guy was mopping. Everywhere he went, the floor was as slick as a skating rink, because he was just spreading grease around. I almost busted my butt. For the love of God, put some soap in that water, and keep it clean enough to do some good! We came here 2 times to try this place, amazing staff, super clean, fast and friendly service, good atmosphere and the food is wonderful, as is the presentation of it. The staff cleans constantly, which is a good sign and not something that can be said about McDonalds, where dirty tables prevent customers from sitting down. Recommending this place! Absolutely worst service I ever seen in my life a young man by the name of Kemel is very very oblivious to life and work, we ordered a bacon burger they put the order in wrong my 8 year old asked for bacon and he was chewing him out saying you have to pay for a bacon. Visiting a Whataburger while in Texas was always a highlight for me. I was stoked when they finally built one in Colorado. Sadly, it's 75 miles away from my house so I had not had the opportunity to visit. Yesterday, since I was in the Springs already, I made a point of visiting. The building is new and as such, clean and well appointed. There was plenty of spacious parking and the parking lot was well maintained. The line was about ten people deep when I walked inside. That's not terrible but they only had one cashier working and she could only ring up so many people. It took me about ten minutes to order and asked fifteen minutes to get my food. That is really long for a fast food place. The food, once received, was quite good. Hot and fresh but the wait was a real mood killer. I might try the drive thru next time. read more

Just picked up from this store. We requested a Whataburger with only onions, mustard and pickles, a whataburger all the way, an order of fries and an order of onion rings. No other customers in line or in the store. Our order was repeated to us twice. When we got home, both burgers all the way (I do not like ketchup) and no onion rings. Everything cold and we live 8 minutes away. No wonder there were no other customers. Lots of choices for burgers. Avoid this one. read more

One star. Ordered 2 single burger combo meals. Cashier rang up 2 double burger meals. After checking the receipt I asked her to change it to singles. She didn't know how and her manager assisted. She redid a new order for 2 singles. In the meantime the kitchen crew delivered 2 doubles to the table. We made her take them back. She didn't understand that we didn't want them. She said there was no extra charge. Cashier then delivered correct order. Burger was cool and obviously not freshly cooked. I suspect they used the same patties. A poor example of a fresh hamburger. ***Absolutely Unprofessional and Disgraceful Management Behavior*** I cannot even begin to describe the level of disgust and disappointment I felt at the Whataburger location on North Academy. As a Dasher, I've picked up from countless restaurants, and never have I encountered such blatant unprofessionalism from management. While waiting for an order, I listened in disbelief as the manager, Douglas, used foul language and spoke in an incredibly unprofessional manner. What made matters worse was hearing him tell his employee to "have his back" and be his "witness" that "none of that happened"--even stating that the "story" was completely different and a lie. To witness a manager openly instructing an employee to participate in falsifying a situation and cover for him is absolutely appalling. This is not only unethical but a complete failure of leadership. The lack of integrity and accountability displayed by Douglas was deeply disturbing and reflects poorly on Whataburger as a brand. I am horrified by the experience and hope corporate management takes immediate action to address this behavior. The oil they were fried in (ZTF Whataburger liquid shortening - aka Soybean oil) was so palpable and strong and honestly... just gross. Not a fan of soybean oil (soy is linked to estrogen based breast cancer!) I have to say I was also disappointed that my fries were over cooked. I tried the spicy catsup and that's didn't help either. I love crispy fries, but give me a break because there were so many that were burned on the ends! So my vote is In-N-Out wins for the best french fries. Not to mention their fries are cooked in sunflower oil which in my opinion has just a better flavor! Best burger??? The winner is... I was impressed by the sure size of these burgers. Granted the patty is still slightly on the thin side for my liking but it's pretty standard for fast food. I loved the toasted bun and I loved all the toppings. So I will have to say that the winner for me is Whataburger's burgers over In-N-Out. Although, I seriously was missing the delicious "spread" on my burger that you always get at In-N-Out! They need to give their entire staff a sense of urgency and that includes the manager who is trying to help but acts just as confused as the rest of the staff. If given a drug test I would bet anything the young lady with the personality of a corpse taking money wouldn't pass.
