I have been coming to this location for years, and within the past 5 years I have noticed a steady decline in the quality of both the service and food. Recently I have gone out of my way to order from other locations nearby, tonight I had hoped this one would redeem itself. But alas, it hasn't. The gentleman on the intercom for drive through was great, has enthusiasm and everything went great. The level of energy and customer service completely disappeared and was replaced with a sense of "I don't want to be here, take your food and leave" once I got to the payment window. The young lady there literally snatched my payment from my had as if she was mad at me, added that her tone spoke her frustration at being there. Was not asked for condiments nor was I given a chance to do so. She would immediately close the window after each small interaction. Now, I had hoped that at least my order was correct, but no. Each one of the No.13 boxes did not have the gravy I had asked for, if there was a shortage at least let me know so that I may choose another sauce. The bacon I had asked for them to put on my No.2 was also missing. This is the last time I go to this location. Go elsewhere or find something else to eat, just don't go to this location. read more

Busy busy around the later hours. My order consisted of a plain burger and medium fries, but somehow 2 parties behind us got their food before us. One of the groups had gotten fries and a fancy burger so I know for a fact they had fries and stuff to make the basic burger! Literally always out of "shake mix" like what does that even mean??? I've been here 4 times already, and they've been out of shake mix. If you want a shake, don't come here. Very annoying. Not only are they always out of "shake mix" there line are always taking for ever, either in the drive through, or the cafe. My 2nd crack @ Whataburger as I went to a different location back in 2015 and I thought it was meh...now granted I was pretty buzzed but the food is supposed to be better then right??? LOL I tried this location as it was close to the hotel I was staying in. Not only was the food delicious as I got the regular Whataburger along with fries and a drink (Basically the #1), but the service was impeccable. The manager at the place was not only nice but he made sure I was enjoying my meal while I was eating and followed up with me when I was done to make sure the meal was satisfactory...awesome! read more

They are always getting my order mixed up with someone else's, you think they would have a system down but it's like the person who made the order has no clue what the person who took the order said, but they sure do like to remind me with stickers(special, no onions, mayo, no pickles)but some how it's not put in the bag given to me. When my parents first discovered Whataburger in the early 1970s, that seemed to be the only place we'd ever go if we could find one. For whatever reason, I didn't like it. I like my Happy Meals. I still confess, I like the semi-meat burgers at McDonald's. I didn't like the smell inside a Whataburger then - again, I don't know what my problem was. Then, when I started going to UNT, I thought I'd give them a shot one night because nearly nothing else was open late. The place in Denton was nasty and the fries looked, tasted and felt like they had been taken from King Tut's Tomb. So - I literally have been avoiding Whataburger most of my life due to some isolated rare experiences. Then one day I was working so late at work, it was nearly 4 p.m. when I realized I had had nothing to eat and I still had to run an errand at the bank. I was ok, but knew I might get a low blood sugar attack if I didn't get something to eat before I went to the bank and the only place I saw around me that had a drive-thru was Whataburger. I figured, "what the heck?" I went through the drive thru, not inside. It took me a while to examine the menu because I am not familiar with their offerings. The person taking the order over the intercom was articulate and friendly. When does that ever happen at a fast food restaurant? Ok, maybe at Chick-fil-A - but this gal was really nice. She asked, "how may I serve you today?" (I like that type of greeting, yes I do!) and I responded, "I need to look at your menu for a moment." I then asked what was on the Junior Whataburger and she quickly spouted out the full ingredients. So many times, I've been to a place where I ask what's on/in an order and I hear silence and/or see a blank stare. This gal actually knew her stuff. Refreshing! As I pull my vehicle around the restaurant, I see a sign in the window that reads "One Nation Under GOD, Indivisible." Holy cow! I freaking LOVE that! I am so tired of non-committal, politically correct crap. WOW - that is so refreshing. Can I say WOW enough? Ok - as I rounded about the restaurant, I was already feeling good about a place that would have this in the window - but that doesn't guarantee that the food will be good. The burger sounded good as described, so I did not special order. I got the meal with a drink and fries. The burger was fresh and tasted like the best one you've ever had on someone's outdoor grill. Now I can honestly say, "What a burger!" The fries were piping hot and good. I don't get sodas often, and after working at a fast food restaurant myself (albeit 28 years ago), I know that those machines need to be properly brixed or the CO2 to syrup ratio is off and the drinks are either too syrupy or to watery. This was the best soda machine Dr. Pepper I've had in 2 decades. I was stunned. I now actually LIKE Whataburger!? I thought maybe it was just a fluke, so I went back today... again, SUPER FRIENDLY order taker, money taker and food giver people... and the burger was AWESOME. The fries were once again piping hot. Finally got to try the famous Whataburger! Its A-OK, the highlights were the Strawberry Shake, Spicy Ketchup, and the Patty Melt. There is a great selection here, might have to try the breakfast menu sometime. The Whataburger was decent, I still prefer Wendys over this burger, but its better than McDonalds and Burger King. This place always seems to have a long drive-thru time, next time I might stroll over to Chik Filet first and then check out the drive thru lane here and grab a shake. read more

Often inconsistent. Breakfast is either perfect one day but the next day it'll be burnt as if it were on the warmer for too long. Drive thru isn't "fast" frequently in the morning. Takes "Apple Pay" but often has the cashier confused and screws it up. Paid by credit card this morning & yet they had to ring up my order elsewhere--if it weren't the manager, I'd be suspicious. People in the drive thru do not like seeing their card go for a trip in the back of a restaurant. When a customer in the drive thru, at 8:15 am, acts impatiently...its because they're worried about getting to work on time & you're adding to the stress by taking TOO LONG to ring out an $6 meal. So don't be that person who says "Ok, sorry, we know you're hungry" when we say we're in a hurry--its 8:15 am and its taken 6 min to go through what is normally a 3 minute transaction. Oh also, back to the "inconsistent". Ordered a sausage, egg & cheese jalapeno cheddar biscuit mean & got a croissant on the top & the jalapeno cheddar biscuit bottom--uh wtf, not sure how that's even possible. Extremely long wait in drive thru! Need someone to direct cars as there are cars coming from both sides. Restaurant parking lot was fairly empty however by the time we got our order, it was full and it seemed customers inside were getting their food much faster. This has to be the slowest one I've ever been too. Three chances we gave them and not once were the fries or onion rings in the right bags. They have stickers on them so I just don't eat what takes so long here and it is still messed up at the end. When you try to talk to people they treat you with disrespect and I have given up on this particular one. The only reason for any stars is the food. It's Whataburger, and I love Whataburger. Nothing wrong with the food here. it's all service issues. We all know that Whataburger takes longer, but that's largely due to them making everything fresh. I can appreciate that. This location however, is the worst I've ever come across in terms of forgetting items you ordered. This is the closest one to my house currently, so unfortunately I go somewhat often. I really cannot remember a single time that I've gotten my full order, correctly in the bag on the first try. I've gotten wise to it now and open everything before leaving the drive-through. Last night it was the bacon on a burger. It was on the receipt, on the prep slip, cost $1.20 for 3 slices, but was not on the burger. Walked in, they unwrapped the burger, threw on the bacon, wrapped it back up and handed it to me with a little "sorry about that". One day I'll order just a cinnamon roll. This place is in serious need of review for management. Every time i come here i wait at least 20 minutes for food thats not even fresh. Now, the manager on duty Kimberly is a whole other story. When i walked in she was essentially verbally assaulting the cashier. Eva (said cashier) was very pleasant with me the entirety of my order even while being talked to that way. This is my standard Whataburger. They almost always get my food right, and don't mind cooking french fries to go with my bacon, no cheese BOB at 4am. (I have never ever liked Whataburger's hashbrowns) I almost always get breakfast from this location as I hit it on my way to work.. and sadly, they know me here. I start my order and sometimes, I don't even have to finish ordering before they tell me my total. I'm pretty predictable. Usually the same faces here, which is awesome. I know of 3-4 regular late night/early morning people that are almost always here. There's been some change up in the last year or so, but overall, it's the same folks. Food is always nice and hot. Soda is always great (perfect syrup:soda ratio). For what it's worth, Whataburger ranks FIRST on my Dr Pepper list. I finally tried Whataburger! I've heard about it since I moved out here last year, but had never made it to one yet until last week. I was totally uneducated in whataburger knowledge so I ordered a Whataburger with cheese - not knowing this burger was ridiculously large and I should have gotten a Junior size - and a chicken strip. My service was standard drive through quality. Nothing amazing. Nothing terrible. I picked up my order at the 2nd window and wondered why the bag was so heavy. As soon as I opened the bag I got my answer. The whataburger was as big as my head. I ate about half of it - it was good. Better than McD's or BK, but still a fast food burger. The chicken strip was average - not as good as the burger at all. If you're looking for a fast food burger that offers a drive through then check this out - its better than some of the other options - (if you want a fast food burger without a drive through then go to Mooyah) and they have all their nutritional info online so you know just how bad you really were - if you're into tracking that kind of thing. read more

I will say the manager refunded the order and apologized, but it still made me late to an appointment. This is happening a lot with Whataburger and me. The Frisco locations are also slow and seem disorganized. I like the food a lot, but it is supposed to be "fast food" and you can usually forget that at Whataburger. If management is trying to save pennies by not staffing up enough, you are actually going to lose dollars when customers get tired of waiting.
