Food truck

Yummy! So many choices too! You can pick from 4 types of friends as your base and then the sky is the limit... the owners are super nice as well. They are truly customer focused...You ask how I know they were the owners, well everyone had a short on with owner on the back...lol We shared the dessert and the honey garlic shrimp fries with the crinkle fries. They both were better that the next! I really can't wait to try all the combinations. The extra added bonus is you are are supporting a black owned business which makes this even more of a reason to try it out. I promise it is worth the trip!

What the Fries! What a fun food truck. Hot fries topped with deliciousness. How do even choose. I finally chose the Buffalo chicken fries. But then I had to choose which fries so many choices. I chose the crinkle cut.....amazing. Great flavors! You had me at fries.... The gentleman working the truck when we stopped was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back and try other combinations.

Nachos

I got the nacho fries. It was really good. With the salsa and the diced tomatoes it tasted a little too much tomato. Overall really good. The staff were friendly and I got my order quickly. I wish there were a menu posted so I know what all my options are.

We tried every side today because my in laws were visiting who havent had much Korean food and were not sure what they would like. And a little of each sauce. The black garlic was my fav but its very thick so not a great texture for everyone; not overwhelmingly garlic. The lava egg was delicious, very spicy especially with the little red pepper slices. I eat a lot of spicy food and it still gave me hiccups, but not so spicy I was sweating or tearing up. A healthy pang of spice but not a complex flavor and it disappears pretty quick from the mouth. The double dunk everyone liked very good texture good mix of sweet and spicy. The sweet butter one we got the kids was good not spicy at all but extra sticky. I liked it but preferred the double dunk. The asian bbq I really disliked but everyone else liked it; it was very strong saltiness and sweet. MiL ordered the pork ribs which were fine, a little tough but good flavor. The kids wanted fries so we added some on but they tasted a little stale and the spice mix on them wasnt popular they were barely eaten. The cucumber kimchi is just the cabbage with cucumber added! We got both and I was like oop. It was a little dry and not very strong to me. The sweet potato was disgusting nobody liked it. VERY strong salty muso flavor overpowering, very soft mushy sweet potato. We threw it out. The egg salad the kids loved and it was a good flavor, pretty crowded pleasing. LOVED the daikon perfect flavor texture etc. A nice snap just a bit sour. The mac was popular with the kids, I did not like the extra thick cheesy sauce personally. LOVED the spinach side dish what a surprise! Very refreshing and well cooked, a bit of sourness but not too much.

We didn't actually walk into the indoor restaurant area, we checked in and were sat outside. Outside waste too pleasant. Idk if just the Des Moines downtown area, but it smelled like hot garbage the entire time we were out eating. The food was delicious! I ordered the sweet potato fries and I wish the menu would have said they had a sprinkle of barbecue seasoning on them because I was not expecting that and I really just wanted some awesome sweet potato fries. I am not a fan of barbecue seasoning so it was kind of throwing me off. I also ordered the peach milkshake, which came literally liquidy and warm so that did not taste good at all. We also took our kids there and the kids were pretty disgusted with the bathroom. We just did not expect clowns and cuss words everywhere so just be warned if you have little kids that can read. Lol

By the back door, the stale stench of cigarettes lingers like the last guest at a party nobody remembers throwing. Hardly perfume, but there it is. Some places come with a little baggage. I ordered the Uncle Denny: a smash patty with grilled onion, lettuce, Dijon, Duke's mayo, pepper jelly, and American cheese on a sesame bun. Yeah, I stole that from their menu. A combination that understands desire better than most dating profiles. The beef is where the courtship starts. That dark, griddle-kissed crust. The cheese surrendering to the heat. Grilled onions settling into the whole delicious mess. Then the Dijon cuts through, and the pepper jelly slips in with sweetness and a little trouble. Duke's makes sure nobody leaves clean. You lean forward. Both hands on the bun. For a few minutes, your phone can go to hell. There's something deeply intimate about a good burger: the attention it demands, the small indignities you willingly accept, the sauce you discover on your wrist after you've already decided you're in love. Bourdain said it best: "I'm just a cheap, nasty, low down, trailer park burger slut". The tots belong here, too. Little fried accomplices, useful for stretching out the affair between bites. The Uncle Denny, tots, and a drink came to damn near $18. Enough to make you pause before paying. Enough that the burger had better give you something to remember. This one will. I'll go back. Probably order the same thing. I always do. There's a point in every romance when you stop pretending you're interested in seeing other people.

Super nice, and always very attentive with special dietary needs or wants! Store is always clean and has a big parking lot in the back! I dig that they have indoor and outdoor seating and hey.. I have even seen people bring their dogs and have them on the patio with them outside! Pretty cool! I really dig the Pad Thai and other noodle dishes with TOFU added as a non meat protein option, the Curry dishes are good as well! I dig that they have kids meals with two sides and if you want to get two sides of apple sauce it's totally cool! They also got chocolate Milk for the boy and that makes the boy happy.. He also digs playing drums with the chopsticks! They used to have local beers and wines here, but don't anymore! But it's probably for the better.. now I can just focus on a nice quick healthy, and affordable meal that never really disappoints!
