My wife and I dropped into Summers, et al yesterday because we needed two wills to be witnessed and…read morenotarized. It was mid-day, but I hoped a simple task like this would be easily accomplished. My father was a friend of Frank Summers long ago, and I knew Dick McPherson and Vick Santos, both retired. How hard could it be? Hard. Only secretaries were about, not enough for our needs. We were assured that if they could do it, they'd call us that afternoon, either way. They took our numbers. 24 hours later, we're still waiting...... Hard to find people who do what they say these days.

Tom McPherson was the buyer's real estate lawyer for our home sale on February 10, 2017. We, the…read moresellers, did not attend the Friday closing because we were moving to NC but Tom McPherson knew that we had requested a wire transfer of the proceeds to go to our bank at the closing. He did not check with his bank in advance and therefore made the closing appointment on the very hour (2pm) that wire transfers were cutoff for the weekend. After not receiving our wire transfer hours after the closing, I phoned Mr. McPherson that evening and asked what had happened. He blamed the mistake on the bank. He refused to accept responsibility for his mistake. He refused to say he was sorry. And he had not even tried to call us to admit that although the buyers had our house, we did not have payment for it. So on Monday I called to speak to the head of the firm and the office manager, Sheila, told me that she is the one to speak to about all issues. I told her what happened and that I wanted the head of the firm to know about this and she said someone would call me back to apologize and of course no one did.

No one wants to file bankruptcy. It's a difficult time both financially and mentally. Mr. Carlton…read moreand his staff guide you through the process answering all your questions, addressing your concerns, while attending to every need. They make the process smooth and easy through great communication by letting you know what's happening every step of the way. I highly recommend Mr. Carlton and his staff to anyone considering bankruptcy. He provides a free consultation with no obligation to answer all your questions. If there were any way I could give him a 10 star rating I would!

I was garnished for thousands of dollars, and was initially assured I would get "basically all of it" back. That was nearly $3,000. I paid well over half of my fees. The money I was supposed to get back from garnishments was supposed to pay for the remainder of the fees and I was told that I would also get a bit over $1000 back, and the check arrives within 3 months of bankruptcy settlement. My bankruptcy was completed in early October of last year. Around January I started sending emails to the paralegal that was assigned to me. No responses. A month or so later I called, was told she would check into it and call me back. No response. Another month later I called again, was told "I'll bring it up to him in a meeting this afternoon, but it's only like $200". Never heard another word after that call, which has been approximately 6 months ago now. So basically what I'm getting from this is "I got my money, so your money isn't really my problem". And the calculations are most definitely not adding up, so I'm guessing they pocketed it all. If that is the attitude you would like to have, then just charge more ‍ don't promise a single mother of 3 who got screwed and is starting over completely on her own "over $1000" after everything is said and done only to completely blow them off after the fact. That was a huge financial blow to me. In today's economic climate, honesty and integrity really are more important than ever because we have got to make our dollars stretch. I chose this lawyer after being assured in my initial consultation that I would get everything back. I would most definitely not recommend this lawyer to anyone for a bankruptcy, particularly if you have already been garnished. He may look good on paper, but he's just another greasy lawyer. I highly suggest finding someone more honest to give your hard-earned money to.
