When we arrived, we were shown a safety video on boating. The worker at the time then met us at our boat and gave us more tips. We had no trouble on the water, and it was a great day. Before you do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING AT ALL, have them show you the propeller regardless if there is a swim deck on the boat or not BEFORE you SIGN ANYTHING AT ALL OR TAKE IT OUT IN THE WATER. Trust me, it will save you in the end. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE READ EVERYTHING ON THE PAPER AND HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING! We ended up paying for a new propeller that "was broken" and which ended up not being the cause of us stranded in the water. According to one of the employees who opened up the motor and I quote "You are fine, it's nothing. It's just the pin." He then yelled across the parking lot to the owner "it's not the drive, it's the pin in the transmission. We just need a new pin." The owner's response "I still need to put a new prop on it." Again, we were told by the employee we were not at fault. The owner then removed the 3 blade prop, removed the plastic sheath, said that part was fine. He did not charge us for a new plastic sheath and then put a 4 blade prop on the motor, which we were charged for. Apparently after we left, they replaced the pin as we saw the same boat in the water a few hours later. So for the frustration and dishonesty from the owner, if you still rent from them, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU QUESTION EVERYTHING AND TAKE A PICTURE TO COVER YOUR BUTT. Do not trust and take your business else where.

A really nice way to spend some time out on the water at Presque Isle. We had an 11am appointment…read moreon a Sunday before Memorial Day. It entails a 90 minute excursion on a boat with a roof so you are provided shade if you want. We had a great tour guide presenting information to us about Presque Isle, saw some light houses, some beaches (Kite beach was great as there were several beautiful kites being flown). I think it was well worth it.

I did a 5 p.m. narrated tour on a Sat. in July. I bought tickets at the booth. The tour guide was…read morenew and mixed up her words and left/right sometimes, but she seemed nice and knowledgeable. I initially sat at the front of the boat, but I could not hear the narration, so I moved to the back. The information was interesting and I enjoyed the views. The tour had a large, separate group in attendance. One person in their group distributed tickets one at a time when it was time to board, while people not in their group were already queued and waiting to board. It would have been better for those not in the group to have the group distribute tickets before boarding to not hold up the line. I went to the booth the previous evening, Friday, for the 8 p.m. sunset cruise. I was disappointed to learn there was only one ticket left, when we had two people. I regretted not booking online earlier (mostly because I didn't want to pay a ticket fee). I called earlier around 3 p.m. to confirm the departure time; it would have been nice if the person advised me to get a ticket early.

My parents are members with a boat and jet ski so family/friend gatherings are a must in the summer. They have a dock for boats to gas up. There is a restaurant and the food is really good as well as the service. Events are held in the summer with family friendly events as we as live bands. Plenty of restrooms and they are typically really clean. Plenty of parking everywhere! Gorgeous views all around! I suggest watching the sunrise and sunset, they are stunning!

On vacation at Chautauqua Lake and we decided to rent a pontoon boat to take the family out on the…read morelake and the boys could fish. Everyone we encountered was very friendly at the marina. They took my Husband to go over the operation of the boat for a good 10 minutes before allowing the rest of us to board. He's an experienced boater and a quick learner so we were very comfortable. The boat was very clean and contained the necessary safety equipment, including life jackets. We spent 3 hours on the lake enjoying a beautiful day of riding and fishing. When we were finished, we brought the boat in, unloaded our things while the marina gassed it back up. We received our gas bill, paid it, and left. Super easy all the way around and the employees were great! If we every find ourselves back at Chautauqua Lake, we'll definitely rent from them again!

The behavior we encountered was confrontational, combative, and completely irrational. Without question, this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Staff was incapable of having a professional conversation and handled the situation in an extremely unprofessional manner. We were denied use of the pontoon boat for the day we had reserved. Rather than simply refunding that day, he abruptly canceled and refunded the remaining three days of our rental as well, then told us to leave. The entire interaction was completely unprovoked. I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to work under those conditions. The woman who initially helped us at the counter was kind and professional, and she appeared visibly shocked and uncomfortable with the way the staff was conducting himself and representing the business. If I were the owner, I would be deeply concerned about the quality of management and customer interactions taking place. Then again, business must be doing well if they can casually refund $1,600 and turn away paying customers without a second thought. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
