And why wouldn't they come here when the iced coffee drinks are served like a cocktail and, forgive me for using this term, but it's 'Super Cute'. My suggestion is 'relax, dine in, enjoy the vibes'. It's a lovely place to spend a little time and regroup or decompress or what have you. We all need a 'cwoffee' and a bit of cuteness on a daily when life seems crazy. Have some of the toast options like the one I tried with the ricotta cheese, blueberry and a wildflower honey drizzle ..... "divine, girls. Just divine." The plaza it's located in is a bit of struggle to find parking but once you do ... you won't regret the experience. Enjoy!

Nice little Cafe off of Almaden Expressway in a small shopping center…read more Came on a Friday morning before picking up my bib for a race and it was busy. They have small indoor seating, but very spacious outdoor seating. This place has a nice vibe to it. I ordered the sausage egg and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. They enhanced the sandwich using midwife baker brioche and adding caramelized onions. Very flavorful and had the right amount of cheese to onions ratio. Also got a iced cafe miel ( Honey, cinnamon, double shot of espresso with oat milk, but I used whole milk). Not too strong or sweet. Overall nice cafe spot with some breakfast sandwiches or burrito.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Enrique, who had such a warm and welcoming demeanor. We took a moment to look over the menu, and he quickly picked up that it was our first time. After we confirmed, he asked about our coffee preferences--strong, sweet, or somewhere in the middle--and walked us through the seasonal menu with some great suggestions. My wife ordered the iced lavender vanilla, and I went with the iced café carmelita. He also asked if we wanted food, so we tried the lemon blueberry loaf and a turkey avocado sandwich. Everything did not disappoint. The drinks were amazing--Enrique absolutely nailed the recommendations--and the turkey avocado sandwich was especially memorable. While our drinks were being made, we had some friendly small talk with the staff, which added to the experience. The overall vibe was great. The team was super friendly and attentive--when a line started forming, other staff jumped in right away to make sure no one was left waiting. I'm really glad we stopped in and gave this place a shot. We'll definitely be back!

It was flaky, chewy, not too sweet, almonds were burnt. Even after 4 hours, it was perfect. 5/5 stars - $6 - Americano: yea I know, boring but it was good! Acidic but not too much. Would've loved to taste the bean more 4/5 stars - $4.50? Definitely a good work/study cafe on a random weekday

Located directly at the corner of S. Second St and E. William St, this family owned-and-operated coffeeshop is in the heart of downtown. Parking here during any given day can be quite challenging; especially during the workweek as there are various offices around here as well as being in close proximity to San Jose State University. Business hours are 7am-4pm seven days a week. I came here during the morning of Friday 9/4/2026 at around 10:00am. Fortunately I was able to find a nearby parking spot but as a reminder, meters are everywhere. The exterior of the business showcases their business name complete with several planter boxes, colorful outdoor seating, and umbrellas to shield out the sun. The interior is small and quaint yet there is still ample seating for roughly two dozen customers. It is one of the smaller coffeeshops I have been to and can get quite loud. So if you're focused on studying or conducting a virtual meeting, this may not be the place for you. Since I was saving my appetite for breakfast somewhere else, I ended up ordering a drink. And to those that have been here highly praised their "Pandan Latte". This is Asias answer to a vanilla latte as they use sweetened pandan-infused extract to give it a very unique taste. I chose 2% milk and wanted to go with an iced version as it was a relatively warm summer morning. This place does offer many more unique offerings that include lattes made with banana cream. Piloncillo coffee (widely known as café de olla), and Madagascar flavors. Keep in mind that this place does not accept cash so make sure you have your cards ready to go and of course, they take Apple/Google Pay. I will say that my Pandan Latte was made to absolute perfection as they taste was not too sweet and not to bitter. The service was also above average as this small business had a very festive vibe to it. I also wanted to add that they sell a nice assortment of whole bean coffee, teas, and other various merchandise on their website, https://www.academiccoffee.com/ as well as in their brick-and-mortar stores. Furthermore, they opened a second location on Winchester Blvd/Forest Ave right near Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara. With excellent service, prime location, and delicious beverages, I am giving "Academic Coffee" in San Jose a perfect five-star rating.

Would come again to try their pastries, they were allllll out. Order: 1 Matcha Banana Cream $8.50 1 Hojicha Banana Cream $8.50 1 Madagascar Vanilla Cold Brew $5.50
