My original 4 star review was for 93 Rock, NOT for the abortion that is Easy 93.1 which was put on the air after they shut down 93 Rock and switched formats. IMO, the listing on Yelp for 93 Rock should've been closed, and a new listing for Easy 93.1 should've been created. I'm definitely not a fan of the new format and station and there are already at least 2 stations in the Miami radio market with similar formats, so Easy 93.1 will just offer more of the same type of programming that could already be found elsewhere on the radio dial. My hope is that someone resurrects a similar format to the former 93 Rock, eliminates the constant repetition which plagued that station and puts it on the air. If done correctly, this would fill an untapped radio format in Miami and could be profitable. read more

Recently the commercials have become increasingly annoying and disruptive. This radio station used to have less commercial than any other and made it really the best station for relaxing music. Now it's 10% music and 90% commercials... and please don't take this the wrong way... but you should have some say in how your commercials affect your listeners ... please take a way those lawyer commercials that are extremely annoying to hear... catastrophic to the human ears! This is my 2nd review for Easy 93.1 FM, my reviews are regarding Elton John Concert Tickets that I was pre-Covid. I received a reply to a Facebook comment that I made on their Facebook page, I was asked to email the person (Mike Kruz). I emailed him a couple of times and he replied, I gave him my phone # and said that it may be easier for someone to call me with the answer to my question. Mike called me and said that he had forwarded my emails to everyone he could think of in the promotions department and that he would stay on top of it to get it resolved. Well, it didn't get resolved, I never heard from him or anyone else at the station. I told him that I just wanted a yes or no to my question and I never got it...and I didn't get the concert tickets that I won. This review is for the facility and company itself not really on the music played. This is a class act company. I was so impressed to see how much volunteer and philanthropy they do for the local community. It is amazing how much time, energy and money they put in to help people. The people that work at this station put 110% into their jobs not only to provide quality radio stations, with music people enjoy, talk radio and events but to also give back. The marketing work that is done here is also really solid with lots of digital opportunities and ways to track ROI for the local business owner. read more

My friend, when in my car, and a Spanish commercial comes on, she starts singing jiberish to drown it out. 93.1 FM has been submitted to the Yelp Obituaries. On December 26, 2010, 93.1 Rock had been taken off the air, the radio equivalent of death. Cameras caught greedy executives on all knees successfully pulling the plug. The cause of death was reported to be a lack of revenue and greedy executives. It may not have been the most popular rock station in the Miami market, however, it did provide Miami rockers with another outlet to let the Led out or to feel some spicy Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was also home to Bubba's talk show, which was looked upon with mixed reviews. What is sadder is 93.1 rock was taken off the air abruptly and replaced with holiday music way before it was acceptable to listen to holiday music. Rockers and non-rockers heads started going haywire like a femme bot from Austin Powers. Then right after Christmas, it was replaced with easy listening crap. The new 93.1 plays horrible easy listening songs that make people puke in their mouths. Rockers around Miami are perplexed on why they change to easy listening when there are already a plethora of easy listening stations. With one less rock station, Miami rockers were seen mourning, while Paul and Young Ron were seen smiling in the background. 93.1 rock is survived by the abomination known as 93.1 easy listening and the greedy executives. I wasn't going to review this station, as half of Yelp Miami has already covered, in excruciating detail, exactly why it sucks. But then I thought maybe, just maybe, executives from these monolithic, moldy, stale media companies that purvey the garbage we all hear on the commercial airwaves will come to read these reviews. Maybe jaws will drop, lips will quiver, and hardened hyper-capitalist hearts will sink around the boardroom table as they realize how laughably irrelevant they have become, via their own doing. So yeah, I'm going to pile on, add insult to injury, etc, etc. To me, stations like this are tantamount to Clear Channel, Cox, etc. raising the white flag in surrender. I guess that this is a Cox station, but does it really matter? Satellite radio is kicking their ass. Internet radio is kicking their ass. In some micro-markets, even college radio is kicking their ass. This station is just a short term-ist appeal to Boomers who don't care about music anymore; people who are content to live their medication-addled lives out listening to the same stale, contrived "love songs" they listened to in their middle age in the late 70s and early 80s. Stations of this ilk will skim some ad revenue off the top, and then when the boomers are gone, this business model will be dead. This station is garbage, unsuitable even for the dentist's office. Try to listen for even five minutes, it will throw you into a coma. Its predecessors 93.1 Rock and Party 93.1 also sucked, to be fair, with their notoriously narrow playlists, but at least they offered a nod to music that was still somewhat relevant. This music is so beyond stale, it's the aural equivalent of Wonder Bread that's been left to harden in the desert sun for a year. What would we do without satellite radio and iPods? Ok so after reading a funny FLELP (fake yelp) review saying how awesome 93.1 was and how stupid everyone on here was, I decided the review DID have a point. Most of the negative reviews had something to do with the fact that the rock station was gone, so I decided to listen to 93.1 and judge for myself. Let me preface this by saying I am down for some "adult contemporary" every once and a while since I am an adult. However, the crap that came out of my headphones was so bad that I couldn't even fall asleep to it. There are a couple of good songs specked in here, but the crap in between would have made you change the channel before you got to another good song. While I cannot realistically judge other listeners' taste in music (and what they call music), there's a reason why most of the music played on Easy 93.1 hasn't been heard on South Florida airwaves for over 25 years - there is little to no audience for it. I enjoy a broad range of music genres, and as much as I hate to admit it part of it includes some easy listening music. But come'on, really? REALLY?? I gave you a couple chances 93.1 (even after you killed the only rock station in Miami), but that music is just plain unlistenable to me. Your competition (101.5 and 104.3) plays a much more broader playlist of songs that I can turn on and listen to for at least a little while on my commute. I really don't need to mention it, but fact is, the major target demographic for Radio and TV stations to sell advertising is Adults 18-49, and I think you missed the mark big time, at least for adults 18-40. Do us all a favor and change the format! Anything other than this old tired junk. You will remain off my radio presets until then. Here's hoping we see some change in the next year. read more

Hearing (for no more than two minutes) this station is especially painful considering that the 93.1 frequency was PARTY 93.1. This once great frequency threw three great 4th of July free concerts in Coconut Grove where I got to jam out to greats like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk, as well as a couple of paid freestyle shows. While I was a little disappointed when you went to rock, it at least reacquainted me with Metallica and provided great music when lifting weights. THEN you made the switch to Christmas music end of last year...Visions of glowsticks and raves danced in my head. All I wanted for Christmas was the return of our dance and trance music station. Instead we get the lump of coal your current format. I seriously cannot listen for more than one minute without getting either sad or sleepy. Come on guys, fix your playlist! read more

I am writing this to the now defunct 93 Rock. Let's face it, it was terrible. I can't even believe they advertised themselves as being "modern" rock. Although I do still love my 90's alternative, it's nice to hear the new stuff as well. And I believe we are having quite the resurgence of awesome rock (dead weather, arcade fire, vampire weekend, black keys, etc) after a depressing lull. Unfortunately, we never got to hear any of that. Thankfully, we still got them swinging by on tour and I hope that trend continues. However, now that the station is gone, I am truly hating all the "rock is dead," "there's no future for rock and roll in South Florida," etc. What? Since when? This is precisely why Miami is so one-dimensional. And that one dimension cannot be Pit Bull. Please tell me it's not, or I'm going to have to start packing the car and getting out the FOR SALE signs. Cox, give rock another chance. Do it the right way and promote, promote, promote! read more

What is with the negativity for this station? Is it because the station changed from mediocre psuedo alt-rock? Come on. This station is one of the best out there. Easy 93.1 does not play the same songs as Coast or Lite. This station plays some of the hits that were dropped from the aforementioned stations. Songs like "These Eyes", "Nothings Gonna Change My Love For You", "Just The Way You Are" (the Billy Joel version), "Year of the Cat", and other soft rock songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and occasionally today. The station plays no hard rock music, no dance music, and no annoying top 40. The DJs are great and provide a sense you have a friend. I encourage anybody to try this station out. As I read the reviews I have to wonder what it going on here. I am aware that this was a popular Rock station and that Rockers protective of their space. There is nothing wrong with that. I am older. I have seen a lot of music come and go over the years. I enjoy a type of music thru my work day that is soft, classic and familiar. I thought I was one of the few that liked the one special song of each of the years that was lite and soft. Since the first time I tuned in when told about the stations change, I have enjoyed it. That was right after the format change. I have had people of all ages, young and old enter my work space and tell me that they love the music on my radio. Even a number of yougsters that work in the vicinity have made very positive comments. Some of these people I had apologized to feeling that they were forced to listen to "old lady music". My only wish is that there was varied mix with some different ones entering the mix. I would love to see a few FIVE for FIGHTING as just one additional vocal. I feel this would fit well. read more

Unbelievable. I live in Canada and discovered this rock station 2 years ago while on vacation in Florida. Ever since, I listened to it via Internet. I was astonished on DEC 26 to hear Christmas songs only. It was strange but told myself it was only the holidays. But no... I don't understand what happened. I don't understand why we in Miami/Ft.Lauderdale area need another easy listening station. We have plenty of those type of stations. What we don't have is a good Alternative Modern Rock station. Like we use to have in Zeta. 93 Rock which replaced 94.9 Zeta was really not that great but there are killer rock stations all over the country such as 105.5 Rock in NC all we need is just one like this one. read more

I am a middle aged easy listener who has been limited to listening to 101.5 to get this genre of music. I find the new Easy 93.1 a refreshing change from 101.5. In the short span of time I've been a listener I have found their range of music fantastic. Also, there is no DJ chatter on 93.1 which is great. Very rarely did I hear a Barbra Streisand classic on 101.5. I've already heard several on 93.1. I can understand the disgust of those younger than myself who are pissed that the station's prior format of contemporary rock was changed. I guess if their interested in pure rock they'll have to settle for the local Classic Rock station 105.9. I hope 93.1 with it's current format give 101.5 a run for its money. But format changes are inevitable in the radio business, so who knows how long 93.1 will be easy listening. read more

First of all, this is not a fake review. . . didn't even know that existed until I read comments about it. I happen to love the new format & found it a refreshing change. But perhaps those of you who are so unhappy can sympathize with the jazz lovers in South FL who went through the exact nightmare when Love 94 (93.9) abandoned us about 2 years ago. Yes, we were subjected to 24/7 Christmas music for 30 days - then tada - without an explanation it was changed to its current format. as long as 93.1 avoids unnecessary repeating this one hits it big....the only thing missing for this old guy is DooWop.....i spent 12 years on 98 Gold WBSS back in the 80's hosting the DooWop Shop....this music may get put on the back shelf....but let me tell you it never dies OR gets old.......just a sprinkling of it just to show true variety...don't get me wrong the station WILL be the best for me.....so far the programming is right on point and i'm enjoying it completely THANK YOU all for the class to do this the RIGHT way read more
