Recently I have taken to watching old episodes of Siskel and Ebert on Youtube. These guys were so iconic; I don't think that people really appreciate how important to American society they were. Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert went together just like peanut butter and jelly (Ebert being the jelly, of course). I started watching them when they were on PBS and the show was called Sneak Previews. It later became "Siskel And Ebert At The Movies". I can still hear the mellow, dulcet sax intro to "At The Movies" playing, as I reflect on those times. It makes me sick to think how their show was treated by WFAA once it left channel 13. The bonehead program directors at channel 8 moved the show to late Sunday night and kept moving the show later and later after the 10:00 news to make room for some hot garbage called "High School Sports Special" that somehow still airs to this day. Then they just removed it altogether. Channel 8 is such a detestable, pathetic excuse for a station and essentially always has been. It is truly a travesty for them to have desecrated such a beautiful show and a special part of my childhood. read more

"A MUST WATCH" is Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve show. I just found out from Channel 8 that we will be punished with Big D NYE. Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve will air at 12:30 am. Talk about taking away a major tradition. Just because 35K showed up downtown does not mean we want it on tv also. When you book Lady Gaga and The Band Perry then maybe you can make a change. Why did it seem so many people watched Big D NYE? We were forced to watch it. Now it is being broadcast in 20 other sydications? I am happy I have boycotted WFAA for the past year. I recently watched a one-sided story of an office that shot a black man after he refused to follow commands and attempted to take the officers tazer, at that point the officer shot him. A jury found the officer INNOCENT!!! Yet wfaa left out all details and focused on how the family thought it was, once again, RACIST???? I don't recommend using this News company because they blocked my emails simply for coming to them for help because I'm dealing with real life serious circumstances and this News station blocked me for trying to get their help. And I was even sexually assaulted and they had everything they needed and still didn't help me. I just saw a news story about a fire west of Fort Worth and when they showed the map, it had the word DALLAS on the map IN LARGE LETTERS, but NOT THE WORDS FORT WORTH ANYWHERE on the map. That's just STUPID!!! Who is the idiot producer/ director that would do that or allow it to be done. And people try to say the people who "run" Dallas DON'T HATE FORT WORTH!!! Today I finally was able to watch the news after a two week hiatus, contract issues between Disney and DIRECT. I really agreed with Jessie's comentary about the the news, I can't put into words how much I agree with him. CBS and NBC was not good at all. FOX not great but semi tolerable.
