L'Atelier Vancouver - Perfect event space for workshops and corporate parties

L'Atelier Vancouver

After doing an absurd amount of research, I've found that L'Atelier is definitely one of the best…read moreco-working spaces in Vancouver. The design and decor of the space itself should be why you come here. It's bright, beautiful, and relaxing. The wifi is great, and there are a ton of outlets, which is are the two things I was specifically looking for in a co-working space (and it's something that a lot of cafes lack). Sabrina, the owner is so welcoming and is always willing to go above and beyond for her members. She works hard to bring us all together. When I first came in, she introduced me to everyone who was working in the space that day. She takes the time to get to know you and will work to accommodate what your working needs are. She even hosts lunch for us sometimes during the week, and Happy Hour Wednesdays as a way to build the community at L'Atelier. Another bonus is the free coffee and kitchen appliances. Keeping me caffeinated throughout the day and giving me a place to store my lunch is points in my book! If you're looking for a co-working space, definitely come to L'Atelier. Sabrina will make you feel right at home!

Even though I had to cancel my service because I didn't need it any more, they were still very accommodating with fees and making it as easy as possible for me. I also looked around everywhere (Regus, competitors, etc.) and they were the best value for the service. Would 100% use them again if I needed it.

He was incredibly rude on the phone telling me to go west. I told him I'm not from here so sadly don't know which direction that was and he condescendingly said "the direction the sun sets in." the property was in the middle of a bunch of skyscrapers, I have no idea which direction that is in the middle of the day when I'm in the area for the first time. he then proceeded to grill me on why I need a two bedroom for one person. insisting I planned to sublet which I do not. when I told him I wanted a room for my guests who visit me he rolled his eyes as if I was lying. it's truly none of his business why I'd want another space, but I was incredibly polite and accommodating to even tell him that. I told him I'm moving from a 4 bedroom house, but still he continued to rudely imply that I was subletting. bro. I'm not lying to you. also it's none of your business if I want a bigger space. I ended up leaving before seeing the unit. the first thing he said to me upon arrival was "I have other business transactions to do today so I don't have time" since I was late, I apologized for the umpteenth time. anyhow I ended up leaving. he's reallllly mean and condescending and full of himself. not a way to work with customers. he looked at me as if I was beneath him from the beginning. this man knows nothing about me. maybe hes racist as he gave me racist vibes. or hates women. or just a complete stuck up jerk. sad. moving on! don't rent from this company if you want to be treated with respect.

At the HiVE you're going to run into a lot of people working for startups, grassroots initiatives…read moreand nonprofit organizations. Basically, people who care. You'll find everything you'd expect from a coworking space here: hot desks, permanent desks, wifi and wired internet, meeting rooms, lockers, mailboxes, bike storage and the use of a business address. They have a very active email list to help you keep track of what is going on. There are lunch 'n learns throughout the year. I wish I was at the HiVE more often so I could take part in all of that learning. My favorite event at the HiVE is the salad club. Everyone brings ingredients and the HiVE supplies lettuce and salad dressings. Salad club is a nice way to have lunch and meet some coworkers. General Social Events like this aren't too frequent at the HiVE, but when they happen - don't miss 'em! Some things to note if you are looking for a coworking space: - The HiVE is busy during weekdays. Keep this in mind - if you're annoyed by a little ambient noise or a conversation nearby this may not be the right space for you. - This is a community led place so sometimes that means rolling up your sleeves and putting those dishes in the dishwasher or making coffee for all. Yes they have a front desk Bee who keeps an eye on the kitchen and greets people, but if there is something that bothers you then you should probably volunteer to help solve it. - I've spotted a mouse once or twice and there are occasional break-ins during the night. Just keepin' it real. Lock up your stuff, put away your food y'all! - The HiVE is located on the 2nd floor and as far as I can tell there is no elevator, therefore it is not handicap accessible. - The directors are amazing here, they care, they respond, they come up with good solutions and they do an excellent job of mitigating crises. Happy coworking!

I am so down with HiVE. This non-profit co-working space is the coolest idea since sliced bread…read more It's a fancy modern office environment with rad socially conscious politics. Individuals and small businesses can rent space here that comes with a downtown Vancouver mailing address and boardroom access for meetings without renting a full office, which is out of the price range of most creative individuals. HiVE is great for short-term projects that require the use of meeting and office space, or for part-time contract work that requires a desk. Also, being surrounded by inspiring and hard-working dedicated professionals, many of them in the creative industries, is great for the work ethic - as is paying for the space you use. The kitchen here is off the hook, too. I see it and just want to make big vegan meals for 40+ in it. Oh lawdy. Other bonuses: indoor bike storage, drop-in hourly desk rentals, great views, private telephone rooms, two dishwashers. If you're a creative professional, contract worker, or are working on a big project and can't focus at home, give HiVE a chance! I was frankly amazed at how much work I got done during the time I spent there. I originally planned on just renting hourly but found it so beneficial for my work ethic that I bought a membership.
