It's all cubicles and private offices. There is a nice kitchen with coffee and two fridges. The internet comes from a fiber connection and is 50 Mbit down (fast enough) and 50 Mbit up (much faster than you usually see.) And for those of you who care about latency, the ping is only 2 ms which is super fast. Geek Offices is a bit of a time machine. It's like the old days before super pretty shared offices with tiny tables and tiny boxes of an office. No. Here you get big private cubes with plenty of space. Nice offices with plenty of room. And yeah, you're renting from the guy who owns the building. He's very responsive and flexible. It's his building and he's happy when it serves people's needs. The offices are on the lower level. Some of the offices have high windows, but overall this is not a place with lots of natural light. The cubes and furniture aren't new, but they're in good shape and they get the job done. There are showers and bathrooms right across the hall. You get 24-hour access with a key card, and privates offices lock. And more time machine...there is parking. A lot of parking. It isn't cheap, but hey, where can you get parking just two blocks from Inman Square? There's even visitor parking. Whoever has that? Now if anyone would actually visit you in person, they could go right ahead and park for free. Really, this is a place to work. Get stuff done. Heads down. Just you or a small team. Then get lunch in Inman Square. Sometimes going back to the future works just fine. Oh, one more thing. The rental terms are incredibly flexible. You pay for the month. You can leave with as low as one day's notice. For example, you decide on December 30th that you need to leave. You give notice on the 31st. You can leave the next day. You don't owe anything. You've got to be quick, because things sometimes get snatched up, but all the freebies give you a great reason to get up, stretch your legs, and see what's new to munch on. Also, every Wednesday they host a quick, 15-minute CrossFit WOD which is cool if you're into that. And there's a shower down the hall that's great for cleaning up if you do the WOD or commute in by bike. All in all, this is a fantastic spot to get work done happily and comfortably. They have flexible rental that includes day passes, so if you are in town for a short time for a visit, you can use their space instead of forking out a whole month of rent and paperwork, who needs that, really? I've worked in a bunch of shared workspaces and I am super impressed with NGIN. You get a lot and not have to pay a lot. Every time I was there, I didn't have a hard time looking for street parking, which is a plus because if you go further down in Kendall, parking gets scarce. NGIN is across from Tatte for coffee/dessert and next door is Mulin, yummy Taiwanese food. Not to mention Lord Hobo, one of my fav local beer spot. I'll start by saying that for my LSAT training company (TestWell / LSAT 180: +13 pt avg increase, nrly double the industry avg; pls visit testwell.com if you have an LSAT in your future) it is no exaggeration to say that WeWork's been the physical foundation underpinning our professional and financial success*. I now pay less (currently $350/month) for a full month of class meetings (6 weeknight or weekend classroom sessions each week, plus assorted tutorial times) than I used to pay for just ONE DAY'S meeting-space on-campus at Harvard. Harvard's facilities are very nice, and, of course, perfectly located for serving their students, but they are not 25+ times as nice. The WeWork meeting spaces, which I repurpose nightly as classroom/tutorial space, are perfect for us w/their, plentiful whiteboards & comfortable furniture & lighting/HVAC. New students or prospectives routinely say they find the space gorgeous on first entering the facilities. The support services here are consistently amazing. Example 1: one time, when an event out in the common areas was loud enough to be a distraction inside our classroom, management turned down the speakers in the common area right outside our room - and have since consistently done so, without ever being asked again. Example 2: at a time when my printer-access had failed, staffers used their own printing accounts to make the materials I'd need for that night's lesson for me, and never even charged my account the usual printing fee. Example 3: for a while there, I was having intermittent problems (the toughest kind to troubleshoot) connecting my little laptop to the WW printer system. Their on-site tech-geek spent nearly two hours diagnosing and fixing the failure (which was most likely a malfunction in MY OS, as nobody else here had ever had similar difficulties). The glitch was permanently fixed - and I was not charged anything for this well-beyond-the-call-of-duty work. The WiFi is super-reliable and fast enough to support consistently glitch-free videoconferencing via Zoom - a necessity for our distance-learning classes. The location could not be more convenient; we're in a safe keycard building literally a dozen steps from both the Red Line's Central Square T-stop and the Prospect St stop on the #1 bus line, hard by an excellent collection of restaurants and bars, and almost directly across from the Amazon pickup facility. We're two blocks from the Central Sq post office, two blocks from a WholeFüds, in the same building as a Walgreen's, and directly across from a CVS. The kitchen facilities and the "Wellness" room are nice bonuses; there's plenty of fridge 'n' freezer space for members to access and there's even an espresso machine for members to use and beer on tap. Finally, they provide us - again, free - little cubbies (such as we had in kindergarten?) to leave small amounts of personal possessions, so I don't have to drag my laptop to'n'fro every day. (WorkBar used to charge me $40/month for a locker that was no larger than the cubbie they comp us here.) W/r/t any concerns anyone might have about the various headlines mentioning WW's investors' apparent issues - they are theirs, not ours down here at the member level. As of July, 2022, I've seen literally zero impact of any ostensible challenges in the operations or management of our facility here. If any of this changes at any point in the future, I'll try to remember to update this review to so specify. *(One of my franchisees, now defunct, rly should've done the same. If they had, instead of trying to support their own stand-alone office, they'd probably still be w/ us today.)

Anyway, the offices are cool & modern, and I would definately consider those if I would use it often.

Predatory Billing Practices, Zero Corporate Accountability…read moreWe've been long-term Regus customers, including through COVID, and the decline has been dramatic. While the local office staff are genuinely great, they are clearly hamstrung by an unresponsive and opaque extractive corporate system with no real authority to help customers. Regus automatically renewed our contract without disclosing major material changes, including significant construction that makes the lobby unusable and at times unsafe due to scaffolding. When we requested termination based on these undisclosed conditions, Regus flatly refused. After we removed automatic credit card billing (which they used to process the renewal), Regus began charging late fees without properly flagging or issuing invoices. Meanwhile, they are holding a one-month retainer (no interest) and have already taken one month of prepaid rent, meaning we are effectively two months prepaid while still being assessed late fees. That is unreasonable and feels deliberately predatory. Regus also demands that rent be paid on the 15th of the prior month, or late fees apply--so they collect rent far in advance while charging penalties at the same time. After six months, we emailed on the 1st of the month requesting a payoff amount to settle the remaining balance. We received no response until the 17th, after the stated due date, and the response did not include a payoff amount. Bottom line: Regus corporate appears focused on value extraction, not customer service. It's unfortunate, because the local employees are doing their best--but they are trapped in a system that does not care about customers. I hope someone holds them institutionally responsible and please bewarned if you are considering them.
