First day in London in more than 20 years and we were excited to introduce our girls to Harrods!…read more As we had not eaten and wanted a little treat to celebrate this graduation trip for our girls we decided to start at the Moet and Chandon Champagne bar located near the beauty section. We began with glasses of Moet and Chandon 2016 Grand Vintage which was exceptional while our girls enjoyed cocktails! Then we ordered some light bites : the cheese ans charcuterie plates that were very generous for the price ( 21 GBP for three selections) and the truffle Brie was delicious!! It was served along side seeded crackers . We also enjoyed the bread plate and the caviar selection! It was the perfect amount of food and I rounded it out with a glass o my Moet Rose! A great start to our London trip

My husband and I stopped by the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar in Harrods for a drink, a snack, and a break from touristing around London a few weeks ago when we were in London on vacation. The bar is beautiful. It feels like the treat it is. Once we found the bar (follow the signs), we were seated at the bar quickly. I ordered a glass of Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2016, while my husband ordered one of their cocktails, the Rendez-vous in Capri (Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial, Mandarine Napoléon, Amaro Montenegro, Campari). We also ordered some oysters - 2 Irish Carlingford Oysters and 2 French Gillardeau Oysters (the oysters were dressed with fresh lime, coriander & red chilli dressing, and Thai fish sauce, garnished with Korean red pepper crispy shallots). I thought the dressing of the oysters was missing a touch of acidity, but the oysters themselves were good. The service was okay. The staff are clearly very friendly with each other, and - while I love to see people having a good time at work - it did slow down service quite a bit (it took us a while to get someone over to take our order; I think because they all thought someone else had already done it). Was it a perfect happy hour? Not necessarily. But it's a special place that felt like a treat. And we enjoyed our little break from a long day of exploring London - resting our feet with some champagne and oysters!

When taking my American cousin to England years back for her first time, I wanted to have a family reunion. One of my aunties knew of this local pub and they were willing to put up with us rowdy Atkinson clan for an afternoon/evening. We are a wild bunch! The staff were incredibly friendly, and handled a table top of 20+ very well as we all ordered food and plenty of drinks as well. Loved the cozy feel and felt surrounded by history. It's roughly 250 years old and opens for hundred of years serving patrons. As an American, that's absolutely bonkers to me! Thank you for a lovely reunion with the amazing family I adore tremendously across the pond. Hope to be back soon and have a pint!

In the evenings it turns into more of a wine/drinks establishment. At £2.25 for a small Americano, the place is pretty standard price wise. In the meantime, if you're checking out the redevelopment in the Nine Elms area, this is a decent stopping point.

Meal: Dinner, dine in…read more All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 8 Food to Spend Value: 8 Quality of Service: 8 Overall Rating: 8 It was my last night in London, and a group of coworkers were looking to go somewhere with great food. I am a sucker for gastropubs, and when searching for places in Hammersmith I noticed great reviews for The Stonemason's Arms. It also came highly recommended from one of the locals. They had a number of interesting sounding menu items, so we decided to head there for dinner. In true gastropub style, the menu is quite varied with some unique options. We decided to split one of the sharing boards and went for the Fish Board. It included Devon crab on toast, shell-on king prawns, London Porter smoked salmon, and mussels and clams. The Devon crab was essentially a crab spread on pieces of toast. Both the crab itself and the toast were tasty. The prawns had the "looking at you" vibe, complete with shell, eyes, etc. This meant there was a bit of work getting them ready to eat, but they were also done quite well with a very nice flavor. The smoked salmon was quite nice, with a good smoky flavor that really brought out the salmon. The mussels and clams were a bit different and almost tasted poached. I was expecting more of a boil, so they ended up not being my favorite, but they were still prepared quite well. Several of the mains sounded good, but after poring over the menu for a bit I finally settled on the lamb shoulder. It was a Hampshire lamb shoulder that had been slow braised for 12 hours and served over broccoli, tomatoes, and Jersey royals. The lamb was fall off the bone tender and had a great flavor. The accompaniments were also well-prepared and complemented the lamb nicely. I would have maybe liked the portion size to be a bit larger, but for the price it was quite good. I had room for dessert, and I decided to try the Treacle Tart, something I had never had before. It had a nice molasses flavor and finished off my dinner perfectly. The Stonemason's Arms has a bit of a fancier pub feel, with lots of beer options and quite the crowd as the night wore on. The service was great and very helpful in answering many of the questions we had. The food came out quickly and fresh, and the quality and bang for your buck was great. The Stonemason's Arms is quite a bit different than anywhere I have been in the US, but I quite enjoyed it and hope to return in the future.
