This place is a revolving door of patients being pushed in and pushed out as quickly as possible. I spent less than 5 minutes with Dr. Gunther and he diagnosed plantar fasciitis and tendinitis, which didn't correlate with my symptoms. He referred me for physical therapy, which did not resolve my pain. The therapists were never sure which foot needed therapy - shouldn't that be identified on my medical chart? When my pain didn't resolve with therapy, I was told to make a follow up appointment with Dr. Gunther for orthotics, steroid shots and/or shockwave therapy, but I decided to get a second opinion instead. I saw a foot and ankle specialist who conducted a very thorough exam and ordered an MRI. The diagnosis was Metatarsalgia, Morton's Neuroma, arthritis, and inflammation due to my autoimmune disease - no evidence of tendinitis or plantar fasciitis. After being correctly diagnosed and treated by another doctor, my foot pain is now improving. I wasted close to two months at this practice and was in pain the entire time - I don't recommend Westside Podiatry. read more

Dr Gunther and his staff at Westside Podiatry are prompt, helpful and pleasant. My Dr referred me to Dr Gunther last year for heel spur and arch issues, so when my ankle broke after new years, I returned right back to his practice! He gave me treatment options, explained the process, was not rushed, and staff was helpful in addressing my concerns- in person and on the phone. He was also my surgeon, and am confident in his regimen! I am recommending Dr Gunther at WestSide Podiatry for all your foot ailments, surgery! - Stacey read more

The front desk was so helpful and quick to accommodate me and my busy schedule. The doctor was also extremely helpful and was able to explain things in a manner I could understand. Looking forward to my follow up. read more

I don't ever make reviews but I felt I needed to with the experience I had. First off I waited an hour for my appointment and could here the Dr. Gossiping with office staff the whole time. Next his evaluation was five minutes long and just pushed a procedure that was not covered by insurance. Then they sent my bill to collections because they tried to claim it on a insurance company that was not mine. They acted like it was my fault and gave no apology. I will not return read more

What a worthless puppy mill, the front staff is far from nice and are very obtuse when it comes to scheduling a visit, when I told them I couldn't come in on a Wed due to my schedule she said she couldn't do anything for me and to have a nice day, didnt care about loosing a patient at all, I wasted 2 months going to these people. read more

Doctor Gunther is a very caring, professional and compassionate foot specialist. I went there with a pain in the ball of my foot, just woke up with it, no trauma or pre curser. Went to my G.P. and he prescribed anti inflammatory medications and the pain subsided a little. Doc Gunther fixed me up with the right type of treatment and I was feeling better the same day. I really enjoy the way I am treated here by the staff and the Doctor. Highly reccomend this foot specialist and the staff. read more

1. Completed paperwork online. Front desk had no clue. Made me fill out forms that I had already filled out. Pretty rude about it too - " I don't know..." attitude 2. Sent me several texts about being at the clinic in time for 2:15PM appointment. It is 3:15PM as I write this review --/ STILL WAITING for the Doctor . No apologies, nothing " we are just running late" attitude read more

Dr. Gunther is Fabulous. I highly recommend Westside Podiatry. My Ingrown toe nail pieces was removed and he kept my nail intact. The entire staff was so courteous and professional. Dr. Gunther and staff have honed their craft. I also love their humor, it made me feel at ease. read more

Great doctors they really know what their doing and make sure you're completely comfortable

Preface: I didn't have surgery or anything, so I can't speak to Dr. Jex's skill in that area. I went to Westside on the recommendation of my G.P. because of a mystery condition on my toes. I'd already seen my G.P, dermatologist, and endocrinologist about it and they had tried different antibiotics and antifungals and nothing helped. I told Dr. Jex all of this and he just gave me more antibiotics and more antifungals, which of course didn't help (still). He then told me that he didn't know what was wrong and that I should consult an immunologist and a vein specialist. I appreciate the honesty but I think maybe he was a little too blunt and unprofessional with me. I paid him $80 total and all I got was a "Well, hope it works out for you." He didn't ask any other podiatrists (not even the one at the same practice) to consult on my case. Since the problem is clearly on my feet, I would expect a foot doctor to have some idea what it could be. I really doubt that I have an entirely unheard-of condition. Basically, he examined my wallet, found money, and removed it for me. I'm canceling my next follow- up appointment because I need a doctor who will actually try to figure out what's wrong with me, not just keep scheduling follow-up appointments to see if it goes away on its own. read more

Definitely would recommend going here if you want attentive care. I was seen for maybe 5 minutes with no real solution and thankfully found another podiatrist that offered more relief options and cares more. Also, the front staff girls there are so rude abs unprofessional. read more

Dr. Gunther and his staff are a great team and I love their attitudes. Dr. Gunther recommended me to try Shockwave therapy and PRP for my foot pain and I was hesitant at first, but I am so THANKFUL I tried it instead of having surgery. Literally three visits with five minutes of pain and my foot is virtually pain free. So much better than the pain and down time associated with surgery. Dr. Gunther knows his stuff, so listen to him. read more

I dealt with chronic and worsening pain from heel spurs and plantar fasciitis for about 9 months before I went to see Dr. Gunther. Since physical therapy and shoe inserts weren't helping, he eventually suggested trying Shockwave Therapy before we jumped to surgery., he stated it had a 70-80% success rate. Since I work as a Veterinary Technician, being non weight bearing for 3 weeks after surgery wasn't really an option for me so optimistically I went ahead with the Shockwave Therapy. Despite that it isn't covered by my insurance, it was worth every single penny. It is a total of 3 treatments, 1 treatment per week for 3 weeks. By the time the second treatment was done I was already waking up with less foot/heel pain. I am glad I opted to do the Shockwave Therapy as opposed to jumping straight to surgery. I would highly recommend this for anyone struggling with the same issue! read more

I've been going here for over 10 years now and 4 plus surgeries and I wouldn't trust anyone but Gunther to do it. He is real and down to earth. He tells you the truth and gets the job done. Jane who does physical therapy is super gentle and always a joy to have a conversation with. Front desk girls are prompt and friendly. Surgery coordinator is amazing. She will remember you from years ago and Dr. Gunthers assistant Is funny and friendly. Obviously I love the whole staff at Westside podiatry! read more

Read all reviews. Hum, interesting because, I have gotten nothing but the best service and care! After having broken my leg ankle twice, yes twice and doing major damage, Dr. Gunter took my case on without hesitation. He repaired my ankle so I can walk, walk without pain, and made it stable once again. By all means, you will be properly taken care of! Sending my husband to see him this week! read more

Dr. Jex is AMAZING! I would recommend him to anyone. His staff is courteous and his office and nicely decorated and extremely clean. I had surgery on a Friday afternoon with him and on the following Monday morning 2 different people from his office called to see how I was doing. There isn't another podiatrist I would ever go see. He's definitely knowledgeable and friendly. read more

All I can say is no no no !!! Do not come here. If you enjoy pain and not being properly treated for whatever your ailment is then by all means , Welcome . If you prefer a caring and professional clinic , go elsewhere. Take heed people. Enter with caution . read more

Don't Bother.....I had an appt. I set two weeks prior and arrived to a full waiting room. I waited over 1 HOUR for my appt. Dr. Gunther spent less than 5 minutes with me and gave me nothing to worl with. He did tell me I have severe flat feet...Uh yeah....I already knew that....That's why I am here...Treatment, options...Given NOTHING but a follow up three weeks later for who knows what..... read more

Dr. Gunther and his staff were amazing!!!!! I had a Bunionectomy (outpatient) and a second toe reduction. I had one before, 7 years ago (on my other foot) back home in McAllen, Texas. I was scared finding a new doctor up here in Houston, but I am so glad I found Dr. Gunther. He put my mind at ease. I was expecting so much swelling and pain, as I had previously experienced with my last surgery. I was so surprised to be walking (minimal) that same day. I had minimal to no pain. On a scale of 1-10, I would say the worse was a low 2 and that was only the day after surgery. I wouldn't even call it pain, perhaps mild discomfort, no pain really. I am very surprised. I had my surgery on Fri, July 15, 2016. Today, Wednesday the 20th I went for my first post op. All is great! Of course I have followed doctor orders to the T. Next week I get my stitches out. I am extremely impressed with the care Dr. Gunther and his staff have provided. He is one down to Earth doctor and answers all your questions. Awesome bedside manner doctor!!! Truly the best at what he does and very meticulous. I can tell I will hardly show a scar. The Best Around! read more
