She asked questions to gain an understanding of my current situation as well as examined both of my feet. I started off with some inserts and ordered an X-ray for me. My X-ray results explained the source of pain. Dr. Reed helped identify a strategy to minimize my pain going forward. So far, my experience has been great! The only negative point I have is the signage for the office is not obvious. If you are in the parking lot, the office is the last one on the left, but since the place is new -- I'm guessing signage is pending.

He told me it had to be removed immediately or I'd end up in the hospital with a serious health risk, and gave me no other options. The procedure was coded in a way that insurance denied as cosmetic or comfort care, leaving me with a $400 bill that overdrafted my account. When I reached out for notes or a letter of medical necessity to appeal, I was told the physician no longer works there, transferred to billing, and the billing manager refused to help. She said they wouldn't do anything more, it was an insurance problem, and this was the last communication they'd have on the matter. She became aggressive when I simply explained I was upset about the situation. On top of that, they charged my card for the full amount without any prior notice after the denial, which came as a complete shock. The doctor was also negligent in dressing the wound, the gauze stuck to the nail bed, I had to return two days later, and he ripped it off dry, causing extreme pain and re-traumatizing the area. The nail is now not growing back properly. Patients deserve better than being left financially harmed and physically worse off with zero cooperation on fixing a preventable insurance issue. I wouldn't recommend this practice.

He put me under full body anesthesia at Hermann to remove my 2 big toenails and 2 small toenails since then fungus came back, I have suffered daily excruciating physically and emotionally pain. If he referred me to a foot specialist, a Podiatrist then I wouldn't go through hell since I am a Prozac sister. I made a mistake no knowledge and paid for it. My friends told me to see Foot and Ankle Specialist Dr. Fernando Fernandez, his assistant JoAnn is wonderful, he is patient, kind and professional that he takes out my ingrown toenails in his office, one foot at one office visit, Never knock me out put me under. I've seen Dr Jerry Miles many times this year to patch up a bad blowout on the bottom of my foot ~…read morea callus with black blood underneath. It left a rather large hole where my foot lands when walking - the worst place possible. Every two weeks Dr Miles would have minor surgery removing the callus that would develop over the wound. This would allow new skin to develop instead of deep calluses. This is deliberate and painstaking work to heal a complex wound in a bad place. This was outstanding work from a doctor that knows and understands his role as a physician. I'm grateful for his work to not only for caring for a bad wound but to heal a wound that few would take the time and effort to accomplish. I believe he's one of the best at what he does and I have great respect for his work. He has gathered an amazing staff Melisa leading the way of a professional team of nurses and administrative support that exceeds expectations. I can't really say enough about this team. They are all fantastic. Being a diabetic, I have to take extra care of my health and feet.
