Mr Westover is an amazing attorney who definitely knows family law and absolutely destroyed the other party in my divorce case. My divorce included a prenup, child support, custody, alimony and attorney fees. All matters in my divorce was finalized March 2024. I hired Mr. Westover after my first attorney got me into an agreement that was not in my best interest. I was not happy with the agreement and started looking for a new attorney. Mr. Westover was confident from the beginning and exceeded my expectations at the end. I still can't believe I won in every matter. Although we had a trial date set and Mr. Westover was well prepared and ready, all remaining matters were settled the day of trial just minutes before starting after the judge ruled the prenup was enforceable. I had a great experience with Rebecca Rainwater who helped me! But these people I paid in FULL I have the screen shots and emails confirming this FROM THEM. Months later they are telling me I owe them MUCH more. I did a STIPULATION DOCUMENT and it was filed. $500 was agreed and I paid a little more for fees which was fine. But months later coming back and saying I owe them HUNDREDS more?! Absolutely ridiculous and it is DEFINATLY a scam! Becareful.... Reply: Like I said I have the emails and texts to prove this was the agreed upon price and I have proof I paid in full, then you came back months later asking for more AFTER the lawyer I used LEFT your firm... its just sad that you come back to take advantage of people.... Andrew has absolutely despicable "service." Very quick to send an invoice but hardly ever returned calls or messages. Failed to show up for a court date claiming sickness but away in another state. Zero aggression. Zero effort to dig into details to make sure you win. I provided every screenshot, picture and video to win. Even my court appointed mediator listened better than Andrew. when I spoke for myself, I would get ahead. when he spoke on my behalf like I paid for, myself and my daughter would lose. 80/20 split from the mediator turned into 50/50 due to lack of aggression. BEWARE- I'm not typically one to write a review but I do read them and take them with a grain of salt, but in this case I feel compelled strictly on a response from the owner Andrew. I hired Westover Law Group for a Child Abduction case against my Ex husband and just like other reviews on here, I was painted a beautiful picture that had a lot of weeds. I put value in a company based on TRUTH and their expertise, meaning if you do not know the answer, then tell me you don't know instead of guessing. I was dealing with a very uncommon emergency case with multiple States involved, but was pointed in directions that fell short. When they promised to respond immediately to things, they did not and when called out on it they tried to cover their tracks, instead of being honest. I went through 3 Emergency Court hearings in the matter of 2 weeks, but honestly should have only taken a week, if the leg work was completed correctly on their end. I am $12k into a 6 week case, that this law group was just a small fraction of, but instead of answering questions in a delicate manner to someone that is fighting to get her Children back and was not familiar with their procedures, Andrew fired at me in an e-mail. Have some sympathy for your Clients as you are the Expert and should understand the emotion behind a field you chose. read more

I had a need for a local attorney to handle some back alimony due to me from an over 4-year-old completed divorce. The actual attorney who initially handled my legal issue was fairly prompt, capable, and appeared efficient. The billable hours were racked up quickly as were the constant invoices sent weekly, which were paid from the money I put into a trust account via retainer to handle such matters. Again, my issue was very simple and didn't require any legal magic or heroics, just a competent lawyer and support staff. The owner of this firm is all about ONE THING, BILLABLE HOURS. The invoices started getting fatter and fatter with less verifiable work being completed. I was charged every single dime they could get away with per their vague initial agreement. After we settled on an amount from opposing counsel, which was paid to the law firm via phone and credit card, they passed on their 'BANKING CHARGES' to me and expected me to pay them. Now, nowhere was it stated or implied that I would be responsible for their cost of doing business and banking fees. Yet, at this specific time, Andrew Westover took over the billing after there was a question raised by me. I had never spoken with him prior to billing. His wife apparently does accounts receivable for the office as well. I am still attempting to rectify this error and as a matter of fact, It has been over a month and I STILL have not received any payment from their office. This law firm is a classic example of why attorneys have a bad reputation. They bully and attempt to baffle with BS in order to bully their paying clients to just pay more... I rarely write a bad review but want other people who are looking for a legit attorney to represent them to NOT use this law firm. You will be watching your back the whole time as this law firm absolutely does not. We hired Andrew Westover to represent us on a messy divorce/custody battle with my boyfriend and his ex . He talked a big game and never produced results. We retained him for one month and in that month his ex managed to take his kids away by filing a false restraining order. Mr. Westover used the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse to not do his job. He never emailed back on time or returned any phone calls on time. We even had the police involved and I called his office asking for him to call us back because it was an emergency and we never heard from him or his wife who is his paralegal. In a month he kept lying to us saying he is about to talk to my ex's lawyer and yet never updated me. Whennwe called to complain about his lack of communication and attention to our case, he kept offering to send us a substitution form to find another lawyer (NOTE TO SELF: any time a lawyer says that, they are not invested in the case and just wanted to take your retainer money... so find a new lawyer ASAP). He lied to us the whole time and then send me a bill for conversations and communications he had with my ex's lawyer. Complete waste of time and money. He does not care about his clients or the impact it has on their personal lives especially when its time for him to give his kids a bath. I would not recommend this man, especially if you are going through a messy divorce with a custody battle. Our new lawyer reached out to the ex's lawyer and with in 2 weeks his kids were back home and things are starting to go in the right direction. read more

I used Andrew to handle the sale and gun transfer with my close friend. I gave Andrew my gun and all the ammunition which was 250 to 300 rounds of ammunition. I have a screenshot of Andrew stating in an email he had counted 250 to 300 rounds in his possession at his office. He advised me to sell the gun in a package deal with the ammunition to get the most for my gun. I made a deal with my close friend for a set price including the ammunition. My friend went to pick up the gun yesterday including the ammunition. He met with Andrew and Andrew stated he does not know where the bullets are and all he can provide is the gun??? WTH?? This is theft this is robbery gross negligence irresponsibility how do you lose bullets!!!! If he lost them he needs to replace them! I've been leaving messages emails and I even texted his wife Michelle and they are not getting back to me! I have a upset close friend of mine that thought he was getting a great deal and now he got ripped off and so did I! I have no other choice but to go to small claims court and contact the State Bar and file a complaint in regards to this situation! Wow... I have never been so let down and used in my life. 2 years of fighting and crazy amounts of money later. Andrew decides to withdraw from representing me one week from my trial. He told me that he doesn't think we will win without his $10,000 "expert" writing a report and left me hanging 7 days before my trial. When we went to the office to ask why we would be better off without him and for paper work on the case, he didn't have the decency to speak to us and blamed it on a cold as we clearly heard speak from the waiting room. based on High reviews I consulted with westover to change 50/50 seek 100 % custody of my son as he was abused by my ex and her fiance. He sat down and promised me he was going to do 4 motions. Custody, My belongings decreed in divorce document, support and legal fees, He acted confident in talking about these services. I told him I had limited resources but he asked me for $3000 retainer and then passed me off to an associate who billed me twice for preparing a statement that was emailed over prior several times ? They had wrong info & facts in the statement/ Court hearing doc and billed me again to correct it when it could easily been copied and pasted if all else failed? Then they filed an emergency court hearing and failed to notify me of the court date!. I was called by phone asking where I was on the court date! mid day! and looking like I was some how at fault for not being psychic! arriving at court date he again told me I would be able to keep my ex away from my son and signed a revised court order, hand written barely legible with instructions to get my son into a specified counselor with 0 info on the firm? I had to drive around guided with my son's memory to find the counselor office and get there info to start the counseling session intake. I was never given back my divorce documents he took or provided with original papers filed and billed . with up coming court dates he then bailed on me when I complained about his billing and lack of services. The very next day after court my son was confronted cornered by my deranged ex wife and was stalking my son waiting outside a grocery store. after filing an emergency hearing 3 days earlier? I called his office and they blew me off and said call the police. After letting Mr Westover know how displeased I was with his services and lack of , he maxed out the retainer billed me with in a few cents and dropped me as a client Now I have 3 upcoming Court dates and 0 representation my sons well being is at risk. This lawyer Andrew Westover has been terrible to my mother in her divorce case. She's paid thousands of dollars already. The billing does not show what she's already paid. His wife does the billing and has messed up several times and they still haven't fixed it. Claiming she still owes money when the billing is faulty. He keeps telling her to sign him off her case after she's already given him over 10k because Andrew wants more money. He had the nerve to send another bill after his submitted a change of attorney form. This has been a nightmare for her and the divorce is still incomplete. I feel like he is taking advantage of her because he can. Sad to say, look at the other negative yelp reviews, sound familiar. Those 5 star reviews are probably fake, just look at the wording, even liked by another lawyer in his firm. We will probably have to file a malpractice claim. Very friendly and polite staff, easy going and easy to talk to. Had a lot in common so i figured that it would be the right choice. Went for divorce and got what i got, i guess, divorced. Very lackluster in the court room not the Darth Vader i expected. The term "Falling on the Sword" was used and it didn't seem like it mattered much to repair that. Provided docs, recordings and multiple pages of case law of which i thought would be useful, nothing was used in office or court room. If your looking for someone to hang out with then he's your guy if your looking for a bulldog attorney look elsewhere.
