I have patronized the Westmont Vision center twice. The first time I had an eye exam and got a pair of glasses was a good experience. The exam went well and the glasses were fine. The second time was a totally different experience. First of all, it seemed the eye exam was going fine but the prescription ended up being too strong. I can't even see out of the glasses. The glasses themself seem OK but don't sit straight. I won't go there again. read more

I've been getting my glasses and contacts from here since I was 12. They are always nice and caring. I will continue to receive my eye exams and contact lenses from here for as long as I can. read more

What a friendly place, I believe its family owned. I purchased a pair of Ray Ban glasses over the internet and this place filled the lenses. What an absolute superb job. I mean reasonably price from start to finish. From time to time I get my glasses adjusted and screws tighten and they surely accommodate and work my glasses back into its corrective shape. read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A DIFFERENT BUSINESS. There are multiple reasons why I'm never coming back to Westmont Vision Center. The eye exam actually went very well. The optometrist was very friendly and professional. He was awesome. Why a low score? Because the 2 receptionist ladies working in the front are the most disrespectful (and DECEITFUL) people I've dealt with in a long while. Let me list the reasons: 1. I received a call from here saying that my contact lenses were ready. I had to remind them, "what about my glasses?" "Oh.... let me see here....oh yeah, DANNY, we'll get them ready for you." No apology was given. 2. Besides almost making me come in to wait for hours while my glasses were being constructed, she called me "DANNY." I know this is a small thing but I never asked to be called this. That was a little rude and patronizing but ok... moving on... 3. Finally, when picking up my glasses, I noticed that they were done in a hurry as they were bent in a U shape and squeezed my head like I owed it money. I asked to get them bent back to normality. They attempted and failed. I was told by the younger of the two ladies that "the glasses would form to my head over time." No, this is your job to fit these glasses. I'M NOT OKAY WITH BEING LIED TO. 4. A smaller thing: I don't understand why it was necessary for the older lady to take out a calculator to calculate the entire sum of costs as if I didn't have insurance. I'm assuming the purpose was to compare it to how much I'm actually spending with insurance deducted. I'm trying to pay and leave and she's eating up my time with a "math game." Again, small point, but really annoying when you're already dealing with these people in context. I'm not coming here anymore and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. After reading these older reviews, one has to wonder when they'll eventually realize the problem with these receptionists. Thanks for reading, stranger. I hope you get the eye service that you deserve. read more

I like Dr. Frank Vergara a lot. He's very friendly, very thorough, and has an extremely calming, soothing voice. On the other hand, I am not crazy about the front desk. The women are disorganized, and are interested in charging you as much as possible. Moreover, the worst of the worst is the owner/general manager...the guy with some Eastern European accent. I can never understand his name...Pritchett, I believe. He is nasty, and explains NOTHING in terms of what a "medically necessary diagnosis for contacts" is. After two visits there in the past year, for exams, I will never go back. Transferring my file to an optometrist in Lombard, IL...Dr. Matthew Hendrickson. The owner of Westmont Vision Center is a nasty pill. read more

Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else for your eye care needs! If not, please at least read the filtered reviews first so you will be prepared for what you will encounter at this place. One of the owners (the "glasses" man that the other filtered reviews mention) is cause for the WORST customer service experience in my life. They have written me not one but two incorrect prescriptions that have resulted in severe headaches, and the owner could not have been more rude, unprofessional, misogynistic, sexist and demeaning. He took issue with me from the first day I walked in--arguing with me that my insurance wasn't valid (it was). Since then it has gone dramatically downhill. When I have attempted to address the incorrect prescription, he has literally yelled at me, told me, "I cannot help you," spoken about me to others present as if I was not present in the room, and *BEST OF ALL* insists that all they can do for me is to refund my copay for the exam even though I am out the price of the prescription. How they manage to stay in business with this abhorrent customer service is beyond me. read more

Very unhappy with the glasses. They made them with one thin lense and one thick lense. Looks terrable. Will never go back and never recommend to anyone. read more

This place is horrible. I simply asked for the numbers for my prescription in order to get glasses online and they refused. REFUSED to give me MY OWN prescription because it was 'expired'! Then asked me to come in to get another exam. Just another example of GREED taking over SERVICE. Hopefully, this place goes out of business. I have no idea how places like this stay in business. Especially with chain eye exam places literally everywhere read more

The woman working there was extremely nice, and didn't charge me to adjust a pair of glasses that I hadn't even purchased there. I will certainly go back when I need a new pair of glasses or contacts. read more

All I can say is wow. What a horrible experience I've had here! While the eye doctor is very personable and kind, I have encountered more difficulty with the customer service here than I have anywhere else in my life. The owner is extremely difficult to deal with and is sexist and incredibly rude. I seriously regret ever having done "business" with this place (I say "business" because they really seem to be out to get your money). Good luck to you if you choose to use this business. read more

The staff was generally pleasant and efficient, but I had a bad experience with one staff member, I dont remember his name but he was middle aged & had an accent. He was physically rough with me during the eye image procedure. He pushed my face into the bracket by roughly pushing me on the back of the neck, not once but several times. He could have easily asked me to move my face, forehead, cheek, but did not. It was very unpleasant & I will not go there again. read more

TERRIBLE customer service!! I have been going here since I was a child and am now in my late 20's and the visit before the last I went in and they had lost all my records and had no idea who I was. They gave me a new perscription that hurt my eyes and was told to come back for a free follow up. I convinced them to give me a pair of contacts on the old pair. They agreed but didn't record that info.I was unable to get back due to being a student, mom, employee, and pregnant. When I called to go back for the exam the receptionist gave me such an attitude while trying to explain the situation, I assumed she was just having a bad day. When I came in the guy with the glasses that works in the front gave me such an attitude calling me an "uncompliant" customer and saying that they were going to drop me or make me pay for the exam in full even though my insurance will only pay for one exam a year. I was very calmy trying to explain the situation and was shocked when he started yelling at me. THE BEST PART: The eye doctor himself gave me a hard time and refused to believe that I had moved out of my parents house 10 minutes away and no longer live in the area and changed my last name since I have been married for FIVE YEARS!!! He then told me that it was not his fault that I was too lazy to come back. At that point I walked out of the exam. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE PROPERLY WITH YOU EVEN YOU TRY YOUR BEST TO TELL THEM A PROBLEM AND WILL THEN INSULT YOU. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went to AMERICA'S BEST on Finley next to the Kohl's and was helped right away. read more

Pretty darn bad, actually. The Doctor I saw determined my contact prescription and just added .5 for my glasses prescription. I didn't know any better or didn't think anything of it at the time, unfortunately (that's not my responsibility though). Now I'm set up to see a different doctor to fix the prescription they gave me. In addition, to start the whole relationship off, the gentleman handling the phones was pushy, quite rude, and flat out weird at times. I went because they were open later - not a good thing to base a decision off of. read more

I have been going here since I was a freshman in high school. I had Medicaid the entire time I went there. I now have different insurance. Every time I had glasses ordered I would go in and have them fit to my face. The old man jurgan would have me out them on and I would tell him they feel crooked or the feel loose and he either took them and looked at them and said they look fine or he would just say they look straight to me , but when I can clearly feel that one lense is lower than my eyebrow and the other is way above there's something wrong. But he always fails to adjust them so I always went to LensCrafters and had them adjust them for free. I only continue to go there because I enjoy seeing the Dr. And he is always so polite and comical. The lady and the younger guy have always been very nice I will only go in there if the lady or the young guy is there. I have even voiced my opinion to jurgan about his rudeness and he just laughed and said okay. And turned and walked into the back room. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. These people are sooooo rude. Best believe if you have government care ( which they take) to be treated like garbage. With government care you have to pay out of pocket for exams and contacts but don't with glasses. Which is fine but these people got offended that I would do so. I need contacts because I play sports. That being said this older guy gave me a pair of trials so I could use them until my contacts get in ( which they had to order because they didn't have them) and then all of a sudden this older guy who isn't the doctor probably the owner comes over and starts yelling at me to get those things out of my eyes right now! That contacts aren't free... And I said well I already put them in and the guy gave them to me.... It would just be a waste and he start screaming at me saying contacts aren't free ya I get it dude. I'm buying contacts too chill. Long story short I cancelled my order and he told me to never come back because I was crying. read more
