This place was very bad at giving my father physical rehab after his cancer surgery and back injury. I would say he is worse off after being there for only 2 months (at which point medicare dropped him due to poor progress on rehab). First, the website claims SEVEN DAY therapist led rehab, which is a lie, this was only offered on weekdays and weekend staff were rude and argumentative and even threatening and had no interest in making sure my dad's hearing aids were working so he could even hear them, in addition to the weekend staff not being familiar with the patient beyond what the computer tells them. Second, the patient privacy and medicare regulations were constantly used as an excuse to keep him prone in bed or shunted in a wheelchair for most of the day. They had an answer for everything why they couldn't encourage him to move on his own, "Oh he said ow, or he was tired, so we didn't have him go to rehab this day" when this was the sole reason for him being there. Third, they offhand said they had him on painkillers for his back, and I assumed that meant three or four advil due to some mild bruising he sustained in a fall at home and I find out they had him on TWO DOSES of HYDROXYCODONE each day so he could barely function!! They had done so for a duration long after the time his doctor said his back should have been healed. Fourth, they never could tell us WHEN his rehab actually happened to give him encouragement (when they even allowed him to go to it citing some government regulation about not forcing patients) so we really had no idea what was being done in the rehab and supposed mental therapy which I don't think he received at all. Again, they had him doped up on painkillers so he mainly just sat around listlessly and really couldn't remember what he did from day to day aside from our visits. Fifth, they were so eager to have him out of there that they gave an entourage of no less than 6 staff to shove him in our suv with no real discussion or checklist on how we were to continue his therapy or recovery on our own. Just a haphazard good luck and mention that we could hire a separate ambulance company to take him home if we needed, no real recommendations, but we managed that on our own no thanks to anyone at this facility. The only positive is that food was good quality and the rooms were clean, although if they thought my dad was tired, they would just leave him with food and not help him eat, then quietly take it away without him being aware (he has dementia due to his cancer surgery and really can't accurately acknowledge all the time if he is hungry). I think they were okay, at taking care of his personal needs? He wore a diaper which he never did at home and some days he wasn't shaved, never had help putting his required prescription contact lenses in (his eye condition doesn't allow glasses due to his shaped cornea) and my mother had to change his hearing aid batteries because the staff couldn't be bothered to learn how to do it for him when we weren't around. All around we were horribly disappointed with this facility and I can't in good faith recommend it as a rehab facility, rather perhaps an assisted living that prefers patients with simple ailments that they can easily handle with minimal effort. read more
