If you are looking to meet a community of accepting, kind, intelligent, and generous people, then visit Westminster Presbyterian Church on Exposition Blvd! You don't have to know anything about the Bible or have the Lord's Prayer memorized. No one will make you feel weird. We'll just be glad you came.
There is a great youth group for middle and high school students where your kids can learn more about giving back to others. The youth group goes on a mission trip each summer; my own kids repaired houses damaged by a hurricane, read books to preschoolers, painted over graffiti, worked in an animal shelter, and volunteered in a school in the Dominican Republic. The youth group meets Sundays during the school year from 5-7 pm (and they serve dinner, too).
You will find fun events for preschool and elementary kids--the Easter Egg hunt, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Vacation Bible School, Almost Lock-Ins, and Christmas caroling. There are opportunities for all ages to sing and play instruments during worship. Sunday School starts at 9:50 am during the school year. If you arrive early, you can find breakfast foods in the fellowship hall.
There are many volunteer options. We cook for homeless youth at the Trinity Center, head to the border to help immigrant families, and celebrate Christmas with residents at the Austin State School.
Are you searching for a preschool? Westminster Presbyterian Day School is amazing! You will make lifelong friends at this cooperative preschool. When they are home from college, our adult children still hang out with their former preschool friends.
If you want to find a support network or just hope to lower your blood pressure and meditate while listening to some hymns, try Westminster Presbyterian Church. The parking lot is located behind the church on Carlton Road. The church service happens in the sanctuary (it's in the building with the steeple on top). You can sit in any pew. There is even a balcony. See you there! read more
