My sister and her husband go to this location and when I was looking for a place they recommended Grove Health Dental. Pleasant staff, clean, and state of the art tech. First visit was a cleaning with a filling. (The filling being the only reason for me to go. I hadn't been for about 8 years) Everything was normal. I would say that I was happy. If you asked where to go I'd mention where I go. No biggy. It wasn't until my second visit recently that it became impressive. I get a notification of my appointment on my phone. Awesome. You ever forget? Happened to me once, so it's nice to have that backup. They have my same insurance, and everything is preprinted and ready to go. Filled out and copied from my last visit, they tell me, "Go over it and if anything has changed please mark it, if not, sign at the bottom". I'm thinking "Thank god I don't have to do this all again. What a smart and efficient way to go about it. I get my cleaning and I ask about my old orthodontic work and if the small damage to my teeth (A result of poor brushing as a kid) could be dealt with. I had HSA money to burn and It is something I've always felt self conscious about. He tells me about a non-invasive method to remove or minimize the visible damage to my teeth. I'm interested and they have time to do it right there (AWESOME saving time). Ultraviolet light guns, dental dams, chemical compounds, and tools later I have a happier smile. SO right before he finishes is what I feel is the most important part of the story for anyone choosing their Dentist office. They are basically done and compare the before pictures with what they have now. The assistant and him are in discussion of the improvement and I notice he is half listening and agreeing as he changes his view, moving his head from one side to another to get different angles of the work, I can see he is dissatisfied and tells me he's going to go over it AGAIN. It's that kind of workmanship and pride that separates your good from your great. I look for details like that whenever I make decisions concerning people and places. I know not everyone's experience is the same, but if you're looking for a place to start a lifelong relationship, start with this place.

Sadly, my whole family was part of the dental clinic for the past 2+ years. If there was a 0-star rating, that is what Grove Dentist would receive from me. Recently my insurance change and Lynn called me asking for the photo of insurance card and policy numbers. I explain my situation and let Lynn know that I have not received the card in the mail, that I will bring the insurance card in at time of appt, and if I haven't received the cards then I would be calling BCBS for that information prior to the appt. Back story, I made an appt due to a chipped tooth. The clinic initially scheduled me for the beginning of September 2025 only to be told by Lynn that there was no available slot prior to Sept 22nd, 2025. I ask Lynn how she knew to call me back to ask for insurance information if I didn't have an appt in place. Lynn then said, "oh, sorry that message was for someone else, I do see that you have an appt already". Sooooooo Do I or Do I Not????? Lynn then proceeds to ask for insurance information in which I shared that I have not receive my cards yet as this is a new Insurance plan for 09/2025. I told Lynn that it will be BCBS. Lynn said that was fine then texted me a couple days later asking again for the information. I inform Lynn again that I have not receive the card yet and should I not get then in time I could give BCBS a call. Lynn said OK. A day later Lynn text me again for a picture of the card and policy number, once again I told her I have not receive the card. The following day Lynn text again for the information and at this point, I'm starting to feel harassed. What don't they understand about me bringing in the card at the scheduled appt time? Again, I let her know that I have not gotten the cards yet. Lynn proceeds to tell me that if they don't receive the information the I would be responsible to pay for the appointment. Lynn, how many times do I need to tell you that I'll bring the card info in on appt day? So, I ignored Lynn's text message and didn't reply to such ignorance. Surprise! Today I get another text from Julia asking for the insurance information. At this point, Grove Dentist has basically harassed me all week long so I let Julia know that if they can't wait for me to bring in the information, they can cancel the appt and I can go somewhere else and not be harassed about "INSURANCE INFORMATION" daily. Julia basically replied and said, "Ok your appt is cancel and let us know where to send your X-rays." Wait, my appt was not even for X-rays though??? they don't even know what I'm going in for?? I feel so disgusted that my family wasted 2 years with such a low-down conniving business like Grove Dentist. So yesterday, after nearly a 2 year hiatus, went in for my check up and cleaning with my new dentist, Dr. Wilcox at Dunkirk dental. I found Dunkirk Dental, and Dr. Wilcox to be as professional and gentle as possible. Pain levels where reasonable, the office was clean, and the conversation was good. I will have to have an old filling replaced which I anticipated, but I have no reason to believe that experience will be negative. In fact I look forward to seeing how the situation will be handled. So if you're looking for a local dentist, check out Dunkirk Dental. It's a small office with a family feel.

They will split your appointment into two talking about deep cleaning, take you to the front office to check with the insurance. The front office staff will print out a statement showing you that insurance covers both services, and you get to pay for anesthetic which is $10. The day I went for the second cleaning I had to wait for a long time because of technical difficulties. I got done and I could not pay the $10 and the lady said they would call me the next day. The following day, a call came in right at the time when they were to about to close, and a statement had been sent of $200 plus. I called and somebody stated they had closed, I asked why the statement was sent after close time if she had nobody to answer my questions, she told me to pay tthe $10 then would have billing look into it. She explained that they call insurance, but they do not know what will be covered. First of all when they sat down with me on the initial visit and informed me that insurance would cover everything that was a LIE. The staff on the line said, I should wait for the claim to come back, and they do not know the timeline, alternatively I could just pay the statement balance $200 plus, they lied to me, falsified information and just wanted it paid, this is like STEALING from people. The only resolution being offered was, I am sorry. They know very well that if you do not pay, after a certain time you will be taken to collections, spoil your credit and still get paid. This is very unfair to people and I think most people do not even check how much they are being told to pay and they just charge the card, and continue falsfying information. Save yourself the headache and get a genuine, trustworthy place.
