Paykan Auto in San Diego? Oh man, buckle up, because you just asked for the…read moreyou-can't-handle-the-truth truth about these guys. Most mechanics in SD see a car with a weird noise, a dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, or something that's been Frankenstein-ed together from three different continents, and they immediately hit the panic button: "Nah, too complicated, take it to the dealer," or "That's gonna cost you an arm, a leg, and your firstborn." They run faster than you do when someone yells "free In-N-Out." But Paykan Auto? These legends look at that same nightmare job--the timing belt on a 20-year-old import that's been babied by someone who thinks "maintenance" means prayer, the transmission that's been slipping since the Obama administration, the electrical gremlins that make your car randomly play polka music--and they just crack their knuckles and say, "Challenge accepted." They've been fixing cars (and selling solid used ones) at 5486 El Cajon Blvd for years, with reviews screaming honesty, fair prices, and straight-up wizardry. One person literally said their family has used them as mechanics for 15+ years while buying multiple cars there. Another called Hadi and the crew "THE BEST!!!!" They tackle the stuff that makes other shops sweat: weird European mods, beat-up daily drivers on their last legs, you name it. It's like if Jack Reacher was a mechanic--quiet, no BS, gets the job done right, and leaves you wondering why everyone else is so scared of hard work. You roll in thinking your car's doomed, you roll out thinking, "Wait, that was actually affordable AND it drives better than when I bought it?" Truth bomb: In a city full of mechanics who ghost you harder than a bad Tinder date, Paykan Auto is the rare shop that doesn't flinch. They handle the repairs everyone else runs from... and they do it with a smile, fair pricing, and zero drama. If your car's throwing a tantrum that would make a toddler jealous, take it to Paykan. Just don't blame me when you become one of those people who starts every story with, "These guys at Paykan fixed my [insert horror story here] like it was nothing." (Pro tip: Call ahead--Hadi and the team are busy saving San Diego's sanity one scary repair at a time.)

Carnova brought my time-sensitive and month long car search to an end, and it was such a positive…read moreend to it! Rani was so pleasant to work with and this was by far my most positive experience at a dealership. I found a Toyota Matrix within my budget (after multiple folks at several different dealerships told me I would not find one in my current budget!) on the Carnova website and filled out contact info to show interest. Within 24 hours I got a call from Rani to let me know the car was still available. We showed up to the lot and were warmly welcomed by Rani with no pushy-ness or awkwardness. The car itself was in pristine condition; detailed and clean on the outside, inside, and under the hood. And not just the car I was interested in, every single car on the lot were shiny clean and you can tell they were all well maintained. Rani was so helpful, from the test drive to getting the car off the lot! He helped with financing, navigating insurance, and really made sure that I not only left the lot that day with the car I wanted, but that I was happy with my purchase. I've already been raving to friends and family about how great my experience was and would 100% recommend anyone seeking a used car to go straight to Carnova!

The inspection found a fuel-system fault with an estimated repair cost of roughly $2,500. When I confronted Zach he disagreed and stood behind his mechanic. They offered $1,300 and acted offended that I questioned their mechanic at all. Apparently "trust us" was supposed to outweigh an actual inspection report. What really completed the experience was watching their lot attendant accelerate hard out of the parking lot to get gas as it was on enpty which may have created the damage. Confidence inspiring. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE HERE AND GET A 40 POINT INSPECTION FROM TRUST AUTO DOWN THE STREET IF YOU DO.

I held off on buying a new car for way longer than I should have simply because I absolutely hate…read morethe typical car dealership process -- the haggling, games, pressure, and wasted time. After calling and speaking with Nick, we decided to make the 3-hour drive one way, and I can honestly say it was beyond worth it. From the beginning, Nick was a straight shooter. No gimmicks, no runaround, no pressure. I came in with a check from my bank already in hand, and he negotiated the price fairly and respected the haggle-free buying experience I was looking for. He was also the only person in this part of SoCal who actually listened to what I wanted and got me exactly the vehicle and color I had been searching for. The entire process was smooth, honest, and stress-free from start to finish. Experiences like this are rare nowadays. We'd honestly drive double the distance for the kind of service Nick provided, and he'll absolutely be our car dealer moving forward. If you're tired of dealerships playing games and want someone honest and easy to work with, go see Nick. Could not recommend him enough.

$1,700+ Spent for an Incomplete Repair and a Traumatized Daughter!!…read moreI am writing this with a heavy heart as a father. My daughter, a hard-working student who is already managing significant financial pressure, chose Mossy Honda for service because she trusted the brand to treat her fairly. Instead, this dealership took over $1,700 of our money and returned the car in an incomplete, unsafe state, ending in a hostile confrontation that left my daughter in tears. We paid $1,728.75 for a PCM replacement and programming. Despite this massive bill, the car was returned with a dashboard full of warning lights. When I questioned why the lights weren't cleared, I was told their only job was to make the car "turn on." Furthermore, they initially charged $640 for a "calibration" attempt on a part they later claimed was dead--effectively charging us to program a brick. The situation escalated when we returned to address the AC system--the very thing that caused the PCM failure. Service Advisor Javier Hernandez performed an unauthorized Freon recharge on a system he knew was leaking without calling for approval. When I called to question this unauthorized work, Javier became aggressive, hung up the phone on me, and then turned his anger toward my daughter who was there to pick up the car. He ordered my daughter to leave and told her to "never come back" to the dealership. My daughter was left crying and shaken by how she was treated. As a father, it is gut-wrenching to see your child treated with such disrespect and hostility by a business you just paid nearly $2,000 to.: I have reached out to the Service Manager, Paul Bowen, via email to resolve this professionally. He has completely ignored my messages despite me confirming his email is correct. "Warning to Others:"!!! If you value your money and the safety of your family, stay away from Mossy Honda Lemon Grove. They do not stand behind their work, they perform unauthorized repairs, and they treat students and young women with zero professional decency. We are now forced to involve the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to get justice for the incomplete work and the mistreatment we suffered.

Junior was upfront needing time to diagnose it irrefutably, before spending my hard earned money, which I truly appreciated... Every call he spent time with me, explaining all I needed, each call, not rushing and very patient. He was always respectful, not talking down to me, as I have often felt as a female. The best part: THEIR HONEST PRICES!!! I SAVED HUNDREDS ON AN ALTERNATOR!! HIS RECOMMENDATIONS ARE TO PURELY CARE FOR MY VEHICLE , KEEPING IT RUNNING SMOOTHLY BY PROACTIVE CARE NOT EMERGENCY REPAIRS. In the life of a vehicle, will save money and add years to it's life. Now if I could apply that wisdom to my own health, post cancer! A close family-run small business, I trust and I plan to support & refer to, always . Next up: having Junior or his father find my teenaged son's dream car that he is saving for...
