I have been seeing Dr. Nelson here for about 3 years. I have also seen Dr. Wegner when she hasn't been available. Both were recommended to me by several people, when my previous doctor decided to join the Kaiser Permanente network. RMPC is able to get me in on relatively short notice when need be, which I appreciate. The front office staff is always courteous and helpful and the rest of the staff is great as well. Additionally, they have Saturday hours, which is helpful for urgent situations. Do the doctors spend a lot of time with me? No. But frankly, I can't remember any doctor spending a lot of time with me in the last 15 years or so. Those days are gone, folks. I am definitely a fan of my doctors and the staff at RMPC, and will continue to be a patient there.

I had an appointment with Catherine Pheasant three weeks ago and let her know what prescriptions I was on. I have been on these prescriptions for over a decade. I also brought up perimenopausal symptoms, and hormone therapy. Catherine was dismissive about treating symptoms bc I'm not planning on having more children. I guess we're just supposed to suffer if we're not planning on having more kids? A week after my first appointment, I called the office to check why my prescriptions were not in my pharmacy yet. I then went back-and-forth on the phone with them for 8 business days. They informed me on the 6th business day that they do not fill those prescriptions for a patient that they've only met once. They also told me that I had never filled out a record release. I was NEVER told that they would not prescribe those medications on my first visit. I went back in today to fill out the record release they claimed I never signed, and after seeing the form, I know I had signed it. I stated that to the front desk, staff, which probably did not make them happy. Before I left, Abbie, Catherine's assistant, told me that they would fill those prescriptions by the end of the day. I will be out of them this weekend and cannot be off of them without going through withdrawals. I should add that one of those medications is for anxiety. I was cordial and said thank you. I was then called by their office manager, Linda Miller, half an hour after leaving their office. She told me that I was being excused from their practice. I asked her why, and she did not provide an answer, aside from I did not accept the appointment they offered me yesterday at 4pm today. I run a business, and I cannot just drop everything to go to a last minute doctors appointment due to the offices lack of competency. I should add she hung up on me half way through the call and I had to call back. I then told her that she'd put me in a very precarious situation, and she told me that I had put myself in a precarious situation. I asked her what I was supposed to do and she stated that I should go to the emergency room. I have always had wonderful doctors over the years and I've honestly never had an experience like this. Rocky Mountain Primary Care is a joke of a practice in a terrible neighborhood. Perhaps because they're surrounded by people with drug problems, they assume that everybody that walks through their door has one? Completely incompetent practice. Complete lack of communication. Incompetent nurse practitioner. Complete lack of professionalism and compassion. Do not waste your time here.

When I called 4 times to get a referral they acted like it was a waste of their time even though Colby said I needed it. Not able to keep up the pace well, as the doctor was passing outside my room I said hey I need this stopped! He stood outside the door and stared at me! I had to jump off because there was no stop button, nearly hurting myself. After I fired them I tried twice to get my records transferred to another practice. I thought it had been complete but wasn't. I tried for a third time this year & was told the office had a "cyberattack" and they lost everything. I very much doubt the validity of that claim.

She has always been very responsive to my panicked calls (when is it not an urgent call, when your tiny baby is sick, even if it's "normal"?) She has also welcomed my questions/hesitations when it comes to some Western medicine norms, and she always offers holistic and research-based advice/thoughts/diagnoses. She even met me on a Saturday (not office hours) to give my girl the last of her three-day antibiotic shots for an ugly ear infection. Personally, she diagnosed and has helped treat issues I've had for years -- that a counselor, midwife, dermatologist, and naturopath didn't catch. While it is a younger and smaller practice, I'm definitely willing to overlook a less-than-friendly receptionist who answered the phone a few times or confusion with paperwork. The care and professionalism we've received when it really counts is invaluable to me. Update (Feb 2018): she no longer has a frazzled receptionist. Leslie is always kind, warm, and welcoming! :)

It was hard to get in, the woman on the phone was rude and not helpful and then my appointment was not scheduled correctly. Dr. Shelly was not any more impressive. Unfortunately, she was very impersonal, did offer a natural and holistic approach I was looking for and rushed me out of her office. I'll keep looking for someone that will offer me more than 15 minutes of their time. I wasted a $30 copay on 15 useless minutes.

I tried to contact yelp to have it deleted and am still trying to accomplish that, but anybody who is lucky enough to be seen by this doctor will not regret it. I can't say much other things that other reviews haven't said, but he is hands down the most caring doctor you will find. I believe his practice has been full and I regret having to have left for financial constraints at the time, but it was my loss. As you can see, he doesn't need anymore positive reviews, but deserves every single one he receives and if I had the opportunity, I'd have him as my GP.
