However when my husband called to make an appointment they required a $65.00' non- refundable security deposit to finalize the appointment. That should of been a red flag but we agreed. Our appointment was scheduled out few weeks and Everytime we drove by this place we notice no business or cars ever seem to be in the parking lot . We worried if their business was down and still wonder why we had to pay that deposit? We began to question the care our dog would receive if money up front was sole concern. So yeah we cancelled and stayed with our original vet and lost the $65.00 . I never experience that before, not even at a doctor's office if I had to cancel or reschedule. People really making money on our emotional attachment for our pets these days.

Dr. Linda Stroh was her vet, and she came into the appointment and immediately vaccinated my cat for Rabies. That was not why we were there, I never asked for it, and she was not overdue for it. It's also irresponsible to vaccinate animals before you know the condition of their health. Then she asked me if I had any concerns, so she had NO idea why I was there. I explained my concerns, we decided to do bloodwork, and after watching her lift my docile cat in the air by the scruff to grab her, they went to the back to draw blood. Then I heard my cat make an awful scream that went on for many seconds. I used to work in animal care in many fields and know what cats sound like when they're stressed, in pain, etc. I also know the vet is a stressful place for cats, but I've seen my cat in these scenarios many times myself and she's never in her life made a sound like that. She was then gone from me for over 20 minutes despite me asking for her back. Stroh finally walked back in saying "you're not such a bad ass" to my cat and tried to say she saw another cat and that's why she made that noise. I said "I don't believe that" and she actually squared her shoulders, took a step towards me, and said "what do YOU think happened?". She then went on to interrupt me, ignore me, and walk out of the room. I had later found out she lied to me about what happened, and then had the nerve to try to intimidate me for questioning it. I also found out she's been sued for medical malpractice before, where a healthy dog died under her "care".

Update, Value vet did not contact me to follow up or show concern about my bad experience with them…read moreeven after expressly asking them to do so. I guess I wasn't surprised. The lack of follow up or action proves to me that adding expensive charges for tests that aren't required and then holding a simple allergy prescription renewal as hostage is part of their everyday business model. Even after I told them that I could not afford the $170 blood test and that my cat would go without her medication they didn't seem to care and stuck to their guns demanding I pay for the test. I ended up going to different vet that told me that the blood test that Valuevet was so adamant had to be done before they could refill my prescription WAS NOT REQUIRED. The other vet simply charged me for an examination and refilled my prescription without charging me $300 more dollars.
