So good I gifted some to a friend. Coming here is more convenient than waking up early for the farmers market too. Need to try their peaches and cherries next time! It's in the same building as Slap Fish and a cute lil bakery with yummy cookies called Hot Toddy's. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating as well. They are dog friendly. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I ordered a tuna sandwich with marinated Greek salad and ice tea. The sandwich was prepared quickly and the multigrain bread was fresh and nutty. The Greek salad was a meal in itself! Soooo good! The salad had paper thin noodles in a vinegar seasoning that was tangy and delicious. My husband had the roast beef sandwich, which was packed with meat and cheese. He loved it. A staff member checked on us to see if we needed anything while we were eating. There is plenty of seating and patio seating as well. The space is shared with Slapfish. I think parking can get tight during peak hours, but there were not many people during Saturday lunchtime. The market also sells fresh veggies, staples and locally made products. This deli is a slam dunk in my book. I'll be back.

The market is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. I recommend arriving no later than 9:00 a.m. if you want plenty of time to browse and enjoy everything it has to offer. Many of the vendors offer free samples, giving you the chance to try products before you buy them. If you enjoy visiting farmers markets, this is one you definitely don't want to miss. Another feature that some shoppers will appreciate is the no pets policy. While many people love bringing their pets along, not having them in the market makes it easier to browse the vendors, navigate the crowds, and enjoy the overall shopping experience.

A vendor from Muncie was selling exquisite mushrooms. A fellow from Atlanta, Indiana was selling noodles made from his grandmother's 100 year old recipe. You could buy freshly prepared crepes, fresh pies and amazingly beautiful fruits and vegetables and much more. Vendors are friendly. In the center of the pop-ups, was live music, which was quite good. Tables were available for patrons to sit and listen, socialize and enjoy their purchases. Little kids were dancing to the music. Prices are on the high side, but you are getting the best Indiana has to offer. I bought award winning bbq sauce, Dad's sweet corn (of course) and a kit to grow mushrooms. (Now I'm wondering what is in that $12 mushroom kit?) we paid cash, but I think many will take electronic payments. Parking is a challenge. I think most people park along the Monon Trail and walk in, that's what we did. Dogs are not allowed, so leave Fido at home. I saw some people with wagons to carry their purchases.

I anticipated being the only person walking around the market while all the vendors stared at me, but no. Lots of shoppers, lots of produce and bread and tea and honey and sweets and meats and goods, and lots of samples. What I love about farmers markets in general (and this one specifically) is that each person selling their goods is super excited to tell you all about them, how they made them or grew them, what to eat them with or how to use them. On this visit, I bought some tea from the Tarkington Tea booth, a boule of French bread from The Bearded Baker, honey sticks from Dragonwood Honey & Maple and a dried cow hoof for my doggie from Becker Farms. I was eyeing the pea shoots at another stall, but I'll have to come back and buy those another time -- the guy was busy and had a line of customers. This indoor farmers market is located at Roy G. Holland Park, in the community center just off the parking lot. It's nice and warm inside, so don't let the cold temps of winter deter you from visiting the farmers market!

Everyone is friendly and helpful, most take credit cards, some with limits but because they are small businesses I try to use cash. They moved from the big baseball park to a smaller, slightly harder to find park in a neighborhood. The parking lot isn't as big but the building seems about the same. Because it's inside you don't get any issues with weather but because it's inside you also get a concentration of voices and smells that have nowhere to go. It can get a little loud inside. There isn't a hot breakfast option so don't plan on eating here like you can during the summer. If you're looking for fresh delicious produce this is a good market, if you also go to the summer one for entertainment, this is not the same as that market.

The vitamin and supplement section is great. For instance, you can find at least a dozen different kinds of magnesium supplements! Who knew there was more than one kind of magnesium, and who knew that there are twelve different brands to choose from, including the store generic brand. I was in the supplement aisle a lot longer than I thought I would be, just reading all of the bottles. But it's a nice problem to have, though. I'd rather be surrounded by too many options than not enough. Fresh Thyme is one of the only places where I can find Frontera brand tortilla chips. If you want a solid tortilla chip -- the kind that will have people asking you what kind of tortilla chips they are at your next party -- get this brand at Fresh Thyme. I also like this Fresh Thyme because they have meal ideas immediately to your right when you walk in. I sometimes visit Fresh Thyme when I don't have a plan for dinner, but I'll be inspired to make something based on what I see displayed in this section. Arrive as early as you can on your chosen day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In the years I've gone to the Markt, the service is always friendly and the food stalls are usually pretty quick about it, or as best they can be with the given volume of foot traffic. There's tons of food, ranging from classic bratwursts to the more Americanized options like pizza and waffles and then to the more adventurous sauerkraut and mushrooms! There's plenty of vegetarian options too - I really like the hot noodles with cheese (casespaetzle) and the spiral-cut potato on a stick! Let me try to list out all the things I've tried at the Markt this past year, and just rate by a simple pick (yes, you should try it) or pitch (not really worth it if you want guaranteed flavor) - Doner kebab: PICK - Walking waffle: pitch - Belgian hot chocolate: pick (it's expensive though, $11 in 2025) - Peppermint hot chocolate: pick - Sautéed mushrooms and sauerkraut: pitch - Kielbasa: pick - Hot noodles with cheese: pick - Spiral potato on a stick: pick - Chimney cake: pitch It's all great food but can be slightly expensive. There are definitely plenty of things that are under $10 if you look, and usually the vegetarian options are around that price. The stalls/huts are all very scenic with a cabin-like design, so the market is very charming. Each hut also has a German trivia sign on it. My favorite huts are the loose leaf teas and the German candies/treats. There's also a ton of handmade stuff like beer steins that would make excellent Christmas gifts. Christkindlmarkt is hugely popular for many reasons: food, atmosphere, ice skating, and maybe even the collectible boot mugs! The design changes every year, and they're only $8 so it's also a nice souvenir.

It does feel authentic - but it's cramped into this small, adorable city center area which is super cute. Problem, it's a small, cramped space and was difficult to even walk down the rows (like, so cramped you were just stopped elbow to elbow pushing against people not moving) and with my daughter's stroller it was a nightmare. The lines for food were at least 50 people deep for every single vendor so, if you wanted to sample multiple things you'd be waiting hours... They did have authentic German souvenirs and the boot mugs are adorable! Lots of cute places for photo ops. There were some issues - the penny press didn't work and took my $.51 and gave me a mangled, flat penny. I had dollars and pennies but no quarters and literally no one vendor or place here had change. I feel you should not have a penny press without offering people change... it should be located in one of the customer help/service tents. The 5k was fun and well-done - small group of around 2500 runners and starts and ends at the market. It was nice bc I got to see the spaces and walk around and take some pictures without the crowds. If we ever come back, it'll be much earlier in the season and during a week day to avoid the insane crowds we had on the last Saturday before Christmas. I think the 5k should be earlier in the season so it'll be warmer and less crowded.
