Longtime Customer, Rewarded with Zero Communication I've been a Westfield Comics customer for over 35 years. Until 2025, I would have considered Westfield a five-star company based on my long history with them. Unfortunately, throughout 2025 I experienced a complete breakdown in customer service communication, which ultimately led me to pull my business. Despite multiple emails and voicemails over several months, I received no responses to documented issues, even while new orders continued to be fulfilled. Unresolved issues included: -Being charged for and shipped trade paperbacks when my subscriptions were for single issues, with no response regarding returns or credits. -Being charged shipping three separate times for a single monthly shipment, with no explanation. -Missing subscription issues that were reported and never acknowledged. Receiving some incorrect items in place of missing books, with no replacements ever provided. -Multiple damaged comics due to a change in packing methods. Recent shipments were packed tightly in boxes with no protective dunnage, resulting in visibly damaged corners on numerous books. I reported the damage by listing each affected titles, but received no response. Mistakes can happen in any business. What ultimately drove my decision to leave was the complete lack of communication. After decades as a loyal customer, being consistently ignored made it clear that customer service is no longer a priority. I'm sharing this review strictly to document my experience so other customers can make informed decisions. read more

I went to Westfield Comics as a first time customer today, and the staff was impatient and generally not very welcoming. I had called in a hold earlier in the day, and as I was explaining this, one of the men there talked over me rather than letting me finish speaking. I had been considering looking around as well, but after that, I decided I'd rather just make my purchase and leave. read more

We have frequented this store and the staff is always friendly. It is easy to find what you're looking for and the store is always well organized. They recently added a drawing easel for aspiring artists which I thought was a nice touch. read more

Great place! Plenty of options to get into comic book reading! When I started liking comics I stopped by and now it is my favorite place to go! They always have brand new comics faster than anyone! Just stopped by this location for the annual free comics book and was thoroughly happy with the experience. There was a bit of line but it was fairly orderly and everyone moved at a decent pace to pick up to 5 free comic books! (So if you haven't already stopped by for your own, be sure to stop by end of day or before all the free comics are gone). The store itself was pretty organized and neat. There were a few tables by the entrance with artists drawing custom prints and selling sticker drawings. There were rows of shelves full of new comics, all on sale for 20% today (5/7/17) in honor of free comic books day. Although a comic that my boyfriend wanted ran out by the time it was our turn to make our picks, we still picked up a few classical favorites. DO NOT order books from them for delivery. They will overpack boxes and provide zero bubble wrap on the top or bottom end of the books(Not talking about front of back of book, for I mean top of book and bottom). I have tried to contact them via email and phone message to never get a reply. The latest order I have gotten was over 300$ worth of books and not a single book was able to be saved and it was even recorded for as soon as I opened my door and saw the box outside and it bulged on the top of the box from being overstuffed, I instantly grabbed phone and recorded. ** Another time I was able to get a single email response from the owner "Donald" who at that time said he would try and replace the books and refund the order, and that was false words for nothing happened at all. I have gotten 11 orders total (between 60 to 100 books per order) and 2 were semi good in terms of only 10 to 20 books damaged out of that single order. Now 3 of the 11 orders were complete shit show, no support, no reply, brush off like I didn't exist. Bottom line, DO NOT ORDER BOOKS FROM THEIR SITE FOR DELIVERY!!!! This place will not provide any support, they will ghost you if you can reach them, and there is no value in sticking through the pain hoping there is light at the end of the tunnel in terms of getting that one order where they didn't stack 4 + bags with 20 comics in each bag and then into a tight box with no bubble wrap support on top of bottom of the books. read more

Great little comic shop on the west side of Madison. Located in the same strip mall as Pier 1 Imports. The store is clean and very well organized. They appear to have a great selection of comics, collectibles, coloring books, and other fun items. The owners were very nice and helpful, and genuinely seem like good people. Has the local business vibe, and felt like a place I would feel good about spending my money. They have a small coloring station set up for smaller kids, and a sitting area for adults that need a break while their kids are browsing the vast selection that is offered. Products are available for kids to adults. Definitely a place to check out if you're into comics. read more

This is the only comic book shop I've ever been in, but it seemed pretty legit. Everything was bright and clean and the bulk of the comics were lined up for display along the walls. The experience wasn't all that different than visiting a movie rental place. Having the comics out this way made it fun to browse and see what art appeals to you. In addition to the new comics, they've got some games and collectibles and boxes of bargain books on tables throughout the center of the store. It'd be just as easy to pop in and out for a book or two as it would be to while away the hours looking through everything. read more

It's a comic book store. They have all the new comic books you want. A good amount of trades. They have bags and boards. I wish they had back issues galore but I just go online for that. The place is deathly quiet, still, and I'm the only one in there. The staff are just as quiet. No chit chatting or smiles round these parts. The comics are colorful and festive but the store's vibe is blah. I'm a back issues guy so there wasn't anything I wanted to buy. I don't like the new stuff out there. But I liked the chance to take a look at it. I guess I wanted the place to be busy and to overhear lots of comic book chatter or see teens being excited. It needs some cheer. read more

Always a nice clean, well-lit place to get my comics fix. The store has a great selection of new comics, graphic novels, toys and miscellaneous fun stuff. They have a knowledgeable, but friendly staff. I'm sure they have the same fanboy conversations that any other comicshop staff has, but they also are willing to drop that conversation to help someone. Outside of one FORMER employee, I've never had a bad customer service experience there. I've spent way to much time in comic shops where the staff takes every opportunity to tell you why you're not cool enough to be there. It's nice to have place as welcoming as Westfield in town. My only complaint would be the lack of back issues on site, though they are helpful about calling their warehouse to check on recent issues. I'm a little unclear on what I should put for their price range. Comics aren't inexpensive simply based on their cover prices -- that's not Westfield, or any other shop's fault. I'm sure they aren't over-charging. read more

This is a pretty nice shop. Don't go here if you're looking for old back issues though, because they offer next to nothing in that department. However, they have a large selection of new books with a few back issues of each. (ex. I recently picked up Uncanny Avengers which just put out #13 and they had back issues to #7). They have a decent amount of collectibles to choose from, but once again it's pretty new stuff. Staff is friendly. It's a very neat and organized store, which makes finding what you want a breeze. Definitely the best shop in town for new books. Prices are pretty set for the new stuff ($3.99 usually) but I recently bought a variant cover issue for $10 and then found it selling for $18 online so that was nice! Overall it's a pretty good shop. read more

I drove several hours to visit this store and to my dismay they had posted on their door that their hours had changed. I had checked both their website and Maps prior to my visit and neither of these reflected any changes in hours. I have now wasted hours of my life trying to visit their store, but they don't seem to care enough about their customers to provide accurate business hours. Very, very disappointing. read more

Bob and the rest of the staff at Westfield Comics (on Mineral Point Road) have always been friendly and helpful for me. They all seem very knowledgeable to me. In fact, Bob recommended a couple titles to me once he had a feel for which books I gravitate towards. On a personal note, they were incredibly patient and kind when my parents were sick, and my trips out of state kept me from coming in regularly to pick up my subscriptions. Once in a while Bob would call to check in on me and see if I still wanted him to pull issues for me. The store itself is very nice - probably the nicest comic shop I've been in. It's always clean, well lit, and nicely organized. It's a fun place to just go and browse, and I always seen to stumble onto something new. But the reason I'm a loyal customer is because of the way they treat me. They are good folks. :-) read more

Nice, clean and the prices are in the right range. Unfortunatly they don't have much or any back issues. Staff was very willing to help and even checked the back rooms to see if they had what I was looking for. It would be nice if they had vintage comics and older collectable comics. If you want a graphic novel then this is the place to find it. For new and just released comics I would recomend this place to get them to make sure you aren't getting a 2nd or 3rd printing. read more

I can't possibly say enough negative things about Westfield. I preordered product from these people, and they took my money and sat on it for months after the release date while giving me excuses about why they couldn't get it to me because they couldn't work stuff out with their distributor. During this time they refused to do anything to make up for the fact that they were holding my money (the full price of the product) the entire time. Shady business practices, terrible customer service. Avoid. read more

Beware when ordering online, items they list as -in stock- not necessarily in stock. And they do not let you know in a timely manner. If you are ordering something for a birthday, christmas, event...good luck actually getting it. So disappointed. Won't be shopping with them again and I suggest you look at other comics stores online before purchasing. read more

The west side location of Westfield comics is an infinitely better experience than the east. They have a beautiful store, very clean, spacious, organised and well stocked. Meanwhile, it's usually fully staffed with friendly, helpful people. The only thing holding it back from a 5 star review is it's location; it's very far west and quite inconvenient to visit if you live anywhere but it's neighborhood. They used to have a location next to TJ Maxx, I kinda miss that. But if you're in the area, there should be nothing to hold you back from visiting this store. read more
