Before hiring Meryl, the house was well worn (tired and dated). I hired Meryl to guide me through an extensive renovation AND to stage the home for sale. Meryl was amazing. Not only did she provide sage advice about which improvements we're worthwhile and which were not, she provided invaluable overnight in the work itself. No detail was too small. She kept the project on track, oversaw paint (interior and exterior), light fixture updating, wood floor refinishing, and a full kitchen remodel. Her ideas were fresh and aimed at the exact demografic that would be must likely to buy the house. She helped me select the perfect real estate agent and her easy going personality and credibility allowed her to provide welcome feedback to the entire team. I was at times overwhelmed by the fast pace of all the decisions i had to make, but a conversation with Meryl always put me at ease. One other thing I have to add is that Meryl understands budget constraints and strives to spend money in the most efficient way possible. My home sold in one day after listing - and for well over asking -- largely because of the amazing work of Meryl and her team. Not only would I hire them again - I would not hire anyone else. Period.

What does one want in a contractor/handyman? This is what I experienced with Joel: (1) Arrived on time for the initial visit/inspection, on short notice (with his wife and two lovely children). (2) Understood what we were looking for, understood that we had NO IDEA what we really needed, and very professionally walked through the house with us, suggesting improvements with an *amazing* eye for detail. Things like replacing door hinges, changing the grout in tiles, repainting cabinets. (3) Settled on a final work list within a day, with an estimate that was less than half of what the general contractors quoted us for less than half the work. (4) Came with me to home depot, on his own time, and helped me pick out parts for the repair, explaining the process to me in the meantime. He did not charge me for this, even though we spent several hours at Home Depot. (5) Started work on time, the major job being repainting all the cabinets the house. All precautions were taken, including covering the floor and walls. (6) FINISHED WORK ON TIME. On exactly the day he had quoted, he handed the keys back to me and we did the final walkthrough. It came out way, way better than I had expected. (7) BILLED EXACTLY WHAT HE QUOTED. It shouldn't be that hard to do this, but it's rare! I am so happy with Joel's work, and could not write a more glowing review. He's definitely won all my future business.

Mustafa showed up and told me he wouldn't waste my money or his time to do this quick patch job and didn't even charge me for removing and assessing the busted floor. He said if he patched what was buckling only, the same problem would happen again and again and again. So he said he can properly sand the concrete sub floor, level it and lay down new flooring to do it right. He gave me a labor estimate to do everything on the spot and that estimate never changed. I picked out new tile at Home Depot to replace the crappy wood, when he arrived there to pick it up, all the tiles I ordered were cracked! I was busy at work, Mustafa called and said he waited and waited for them to get the order ready, when it finally was, it was all busted. He said, look. I know a tile place, I'll get you good tile. He drove to San Jose to get 25 cases of porcelain tile, picked out a style similar, but better than what I originally wanted, loaded everything up and drove back to Oakland to unload materials and his tools. Four days later we have a beautiful new porcelain tiled dining room area. Beautiful. He communicated throughout, was available anytime, answered all my questions, was on time, and worked hard, worked clean and left zero for me to clean. Mustafa is a true professional and craftsman. I could go on and on. Thank you, Mustafa and crew! I'd hire you guys again in a heartbeat.
