Good pit stop while fueling up. Grabbed a grilled chicken sandwich with fries to go. The chicken was a bit plain and could use more seasoning, but the fries were very good. Friendly staff and plenty of seating, especially nice if you're rolling in with a big group. read more

The food was terrible it looked like fried elephant droppings and everything looked and tasted like you wiped a dogs ass and ate the toilet paper read more

The quality of the food was not good. The restaurant tried to keep up appearances that it was nice looking etc. workers were walking g around a lot cleaning. But from a service perspective it was lacking. I ordered a ribeye. It was not cooked properly and was very tough. Chicken was dry. Meatballs were flavorless. The ribs were all bone. The salad was good and fresh. That was nice. Anyway we went there because it was nostalgic. My mother in law use to love it in Indiana. That was 30 years ago. I should have turned around and left when we walked in. read more

When trying to place an order the "hostess "(and I use that term very loosely) Did not listen... I ordered tips and after waiting an appropriate amount of time my waitress asked if I was going to get the buffet. When I said no because that is not what I ordered the "hostess " came around the corner and asked if I told her that! "No in addition to you running a register I expect you to read my mind too!" I will not be back read more

Stopped by the lunch buffet and a steak. Expectations were low but I was tremendously surprised. All food items that I sampled were excellent (and I sampled a LOT.) Service was exemplary. Highly recommended!! read more

Food is always the same, no new choices and too high in this economy . Need to lower price for the quality of food you get.

I have no idea how the rating of this place was so low. This place is a 4 star at least. If you like country fixings this is your place. Came on a Friday, the fried fish and chicken pot pie were the real stars of the buffet. They were really good!! Staff was kind and attentive. Place was clean despite of being busy. I would better the hush puppies and brown gravy if I were them. read more

I can't really recommend this place because the buffet is really mediocre and small. There are not a lot of choices to pick from. And anything like steak or the good food has separate costs and are not part of the buffet. The people working there were really nice and it had a southern feeling too it. I feel if they expanded the food options for the buffet they would be more successful. read more

Great selection at the buffet and they provide gloves. Food is fresh and when they have it, their pot roast is so good! Local favorite.

I'll go to the buffets all over and this has got to be the worst buffet I've ever had in my life! Two waitresses left they didn't have enough help(not there fault) The food was awful fried fish was reverie, meatloaf was dry, The rise was not done that had the chicken in it! Three different kinds of chicken on top of that the spicy chicken that was baked they should've had a pork dish instead or maybe even a pasta dish! So they had a pan of mashed potatoes and instead of stirring that up they pop the old ones on top of it and did not mix it! The fried chicken was decent though! They ran out of Coke and it took forever to get it changed just a horrible experience:( read more

A very clean buffet. The cleanliness honestly blew me away. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The food was plentiful with many options to choose from. The flavor was delicious and very filling. A good and affordable place to eat with the family. read more

Bad service. Bad food. They should be ashamed to be called a steak house. I sent my steak back twice.

The food was so bad.me and some of my friends and family got some food here. It was trash. the service was good she was so nice but the was poor one star read more

We won't be back. The buffet had very limited choices. Fried chicken was a little under cooked for my taste. Salad bar was pathetic. My husband only got greens and limas and corn bread. He was disappointed. We didn't bother with desert. I did not finish what I chose. The server was friendly enough. The hostess who took our payment was indifferent. I cannot recommend this restaurant. After reading the reviews, I wouldn't even go back to try the steak which they claim to be famous for. read more

Stopped in for the lunch buffet. All of the servers were very polite and welcoming. All of the food from the buffet was excellent (especially the fried chicken). Health score was also 100. Highly recommended. read more

It doesn't get much more craptacular than this. If I could give it less than one star, I would. Not that I go into a place like this expecting dazzling, awe inspiring greatness- but edible food would be nice. From the salad bar with watery, brown lettuce and warm, crusted-over mayonnaise based salads....to the hot bar with watery creamed corn and runny mashed potatoes....to the dessert bar with some sort of bizarre tan-colored ice cream in both the "chocolate" and "vanilla" side....this was a dining nightmare. The service was awful and almost rude, drinks were not refilled, and we left highly unsatisfied. Truck stops have better buffet quality- hell, the food's better at a truck stop even if it's been sitting out on the buffet for 5 hours. Only the fried chicken was reasonably edible. The rest- garbage. Avoid this place at all costs. And if you're a trucker or traveler, avoid the Citgo across the street too. The folks who run it are rude, and the showers/bathrooms are apallingly filthy. read more

I want to vomit!!!! Absolutely horrible food and terrible service. Old grease, poor poor quality meat for steaks, very dirty. Avoid or enter at your own peril. I wasted $43 for 2 for lunch. read more

We were on the road for a good part of the day and got hungry in the middle of nowhere... we were a bit nervous about the place given the reviews we had read...but - I am happy to report that our experience was actually very positive... The food was fresh and the buffet nicely stocked...not sure if it was because of the time of the evening we showed up - but everything was tasty - great soup, crispy fried chicken, fresh salad products, and really tasty sweet tea! Maybe we were just lucky - but our son was actually asking for other Western Sizzlin stops throughout the drive... read more

Sweet staff! Tasty food! We had five people that each gave them a rating and the average was 4.2! Haha. Thanks for the kindness!

We had been on the road since Orlando and were getting pretty hungry. So we stopped in. We were curious about what the buffet had. We decided to go with the buffet and a steak. The steak was decent. The buffet had a great selection and was fresh. They had great Baked and Fried Chicken. The mashed potatoes were fresh. All in all we had a great experience. read more

The staff refilling food at buffet are rude. Didnt say excuse me to refill food trays and then wanted you and everyone behind you in line to move to get out of the food lanes, when there was nobody on other side of them and they could have walked out that way. And seemed frustrated having to clean up the buffet area. Wait staff was pleasant. read more

I am not fond of buffets so my husband & I ordered off the menu...2 10 oz sirloins which ended up being chock full of grisle & fat. I ate 2 bites of my steak & couldn't eat the rest. Needless to say, my husband & I have put this on the "no eat" zone. read more

I wish i didn't have to even put one star! This place freaking sucks! The food was horrible, the bathrooms stink!, the place is a shithole! I've been there twice!, i do not recommend this place to anyone. The service i got was wonderful, and that's the only reason i came back the second time. The place is filthy. I found bugs in my food. I saw the Health Score, and honestly... it grossed me the hell out! Stay AWAY from this place. You could probably catch hepititis from this place! read more

Not many selections. Food are very salty . more country style. Yellow squash , collard greens , cream corn , fried chicken. ... Not going again. Just passing through. read more

I'm a little upset I didn't check the reviews before stopping here. Waist of time and money. Food was horrible, had to wait several minutes for chicken, and they served us drinks with no ice like it was normal???? Overpriced buffet style food. The steak was poor to almost average in my opinion it wasn't flame kissed but pan fried!

I actually didnt bother to eat here after checking Yelp before i walked in. Decided to go to Wendys across the street instead. Figured it would be safer! read more

Way over priced for this greasy spoon-I wasn't expecting much from a place that pulls all its customers off the highway into the middle of nowhere but this wasn't anything to remember. . Beware -the buffet is extra $8.99 on top of the $20 for a steak that U might expect to be served in prison. on top of the extra for the cup of Pepsi. So my simple dinner ran me around $30 -I've been to buffets but this was pretty forgettable. Chelsea was a very friendly waitress which is the only good thing this place had. I confess I'm not into collar greens. read more

I have probably eaten at this restaurant fifteen to twenty times and remember only two or three times that I had a complaint about the food or service. I have eaten all over the world and the consistency of food and service is average with other places of this type. I almost always eat the buffet with good experience. I would say you have an 85 to 90 percent chance of having a good dining experience. I have worked as a food service rep, a secret shopper, and restaurant reviewer. If their food is so trashy, as some of these reviewers have commented, how have they stayed open under the same management for more than ten years? read more

Paid $20 for a steak that was so terrible I was afraid to eat it. It was undercooked and tasted spoiled. You would think that a place that prides itself on its steaks would invest in a chargrill. It's no wonder why they make you pay in advance. I will never return to this place. read more

This has to be the worst restaurant I have eaten at in the last 5 years. I stayed at Hampton Inn and some of the others said they would eat at Taco Bell before they would eat there...I wish I had...The cashier was on her cell phone the minute I walked in to the 15 minutes later that I left, and was a terrible customer service person. The chicken was so hard you could not eat it, nothing was good....They should close this down, but I think they take advantage of the people from the freeway, I am sure no locals would eat there.....I probably ate two spoon fulls before I left, I said 15 minutes, but I could not believe this place...STAY AWAY read more

We stopped by here on a trip home after vacation, and the food was very good. The green beans were excellent, the ribs were pretty tasty, and the mac n cheese was on point. The server was very friendly. My only complaints would be that the restroom floor was sticky and had something dried on the floor. Also, the dessert wasn't fantastic. I tried the peach cobbler and it was cold. The chocolate mouse probably had a good flavor but it was gritty for some reason. I would come back if I was local. It was not bad overall, and the price is decent. read more

This is our go to restaurant in this area for lunch. Great fried chicken, and other meats, good veggies, decent salad bar and the staff is friendly and attentive. Most of the patrons are quiet, so it is usually a nice quiet place to have lunch. Some of the stuff is probably canned, but some of it is made fresh also, like the greens and the rutabagas and the chicken & dumplings. This is soul food, so if you like southern soul or country food, that's what it is. read more

On the way back to my ATL suburb from a family reunion in Kissimmee, FL, we decided to stop at a Western Sizzlin in Adel, GA for some lunch. It had been years since my wife and I had eaten at a Western Sizzlin, so we decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. We opted for the buffet only rather than any of the entrees, or the entree/buffet combo. For my money the best thing on the buffet was the green beans, followed by the collard greens. The chicken and dumplings was very good, not a trace of mushiness in the dumplings. The baked chicken 4 on a scale of 5 (not dried out but not all that flavorful), but the Southern style fried chicken was 5 out of 5. There was very little oil in the skin, and the meat was juicy and so good. For dietary reasons we held ourselves to one piece of fried chicken for the two of us, but we did get some more and peeled off the skin to enjoy the delicious white meat underneath. We wish that the salad bar had more kinds of lettuce than just iceberg lettuce (which was fresh and crisp and good.). We would have enjoyed some romaine, spinach, etc. But that would be no reason for us to skip Western Sizzlin. As I said, those green beans were epic. Our waitress Thea was friendly and very professional. She came by a few times to see how we were getting on, and she brought over some extra napkins without being asked. The coffee she served me was quite good. The dining room itself was very large and very plain. One could tell the management spent their money on the food and on training the staff rather than on decor, which usually is just fine with me. I don't think there is a Western Sizzlin near me, but when I find myself on the road again, I'm pretty sure I'll visit another one. read more

The food was ok. Actually better than I expected. The service was nice everyone was friendly. Also the restaurant was very clean.

Hands down the worst service ever! I was told by 3 different people that the cashier / hostess would be right with. Almost ten minutes later, she came up complaining about her day. The only reason I didn't go somewhere else was that I couldn't find anywhere that looked any better. What I wouldn't give for a decent steak, a glass of wine and a hostess without the attitude! read more

I really enjoy western sizzlin. Great country cooking and mostly exceptional service. Every now and then get a shitty waitress. Overall great place to eat. read more

We were on our way home from Orlando and wanted to eat at Western Sizzlin. We found this one and, for 82 miles, we waited anxiously to arrive. When we got there, the lady who met us was friendly. But when we went to the buffet to see what they had, the manager came out and told me that I couldn't have my guide dog at the buffet. She said he could be in the seating area, but not close to the buffet. (that was a problem right away, because you had to walk by the buffet to get to the seating area, unless you went entirely out of your way, between other people eating, to get there.) I told her she couldn't do that, and we went ahead and got our food. The food was OK, but the discrimination was blatant. I thought discrimination south of the Mason-Dixon line was put to rest many years ago. read more

I was really reluctant to go in, in fact I sat in the parking lot searching on my cell to find another eatery. I thought it was going to be just another meat and potatoes bore. The place is 100% no frills very understated, but the food was tasty and flavorful, down home yum with great tasting cornbread; Simple, southern delicious. Great price for the offering $7.29ea all you can eat lunch buffet. Both my husband and I would go back in a heartbeart! read more
