I've been a patron since 2018 and NEVER had an issue with a student or an instructor. Made the mistake of getting haircut by FRED--Instructor Sebastian picked him out for me.... FRED said my hair was too short -- 1st flag. I asked FRED 3 times -- LET ME REITERATE, ASKED FRED THREE TIMES-- if FRED was capable of cutting my hair. FRED said "I'll try"-- 2nd flag FRED made some marks on my head that hurt-- as a result, I now have red lines on my head spanning from left ear to right ear-- while making the guide line and I had to tell FRED to please stop jabbing me, instead glide up with the clippers.. FRED listened but I could tell FRED didn't know what he was doing and I could smell how nervous he was.. 3rd flag I gave FRED a compliment to boost his confidence but I could see FRED was butchering my left side of the head.. FRED was so confident, he didn't request help from instructors. FRED went from cutting my left side to cutting the top of my head.. Rows of pass marks that were meant to be blended in just left choppy af. Told FRED to stop cutting the left side but FRED didn't listen or understand. The kind lady instructor worked on my right side for like 5-7 mins and then handed FRED the clippers and said "here"... Old boy FRED thought that "here" meant the client is good to go. I looked at my hair in disbelief and told FRED to fix it. That's when old boy FRED started to mouth off that I was being too picky for $6 and I should go to a real barber shop-- I was shocked. I didn't hold back, I verbally let him have it. I told him he needs to be a better communicator and that if he knows he can't do a job then he should decline the service. FRED kept repeating this is a $6 dollar cut and it's lunchtime.. 4th flag I grabbed instructor Sebastian.. I was shocked when he said "you know this is a barber school, right?"......MAN!!!.....Sebastian worked on my hair while old boy FRED was still mouthing off in front of his instructor and the instructor stayed silent and allowed FRED to keep yapping. 5th flag So let me get this straight, because the student is a student, because the student is nervous af, the student gets a free-pass when student messes up and I'm suppose to live with it without having it corrected by an instructor??? Things done changed at WBI...Things were great when bearded instructor was there.. Gave old boy FRED a $5 tip with an earful of words and a negative review to FREDS name -- I hope it was worth it FRED Consequently shaved my head because the garbage haircut was beyond repair--all good tho, I've been zeroing my hair for past several months!! So My Friend recommended this place because it's Cheap. The Girl at the front desk was rude like and I felt slight bit of discrimination I noticed being I am a darker complexion. I asked if I could choose which Student cut my Sons hair being my friend told to ask for someone in particular and she showed me who he was. I am a caregiver for a patient with Alzheimer's disease. I have been taking this patient here a long time now & this is the first time that a supervisor named Yocasta refused to let me stay with my patient while he was getting a haircut. If I'm not near him he gets very confused & wants to get up & leave. It's very depressing knowing that a person like Yocasta is so insensitive to the needs of the handicapped. For the price I was honestly very worried the first time I came in here and expected very little. But every time I have John and I have been 100% satisfied with my haircut! The student barbers ar I have John and I have been 100% satisfied with my haircut! The student barbers are well trained and almost never mess anything up, and anytime they have an instructor immediately took over and finished the haircut and fixing any mistakes. The place is very upbeat with music playing as I walked in. There is a counter at the entrance where I had to sign In and paid a fee of $5. I was greeted with a smile as the soon to be licensed Barber Christian Larios presented himself and escorted me to my seat. He asked for my name and paid attention to detail as I explained how I wanted my hair. He took his time and with precision he began to cut my hair. He started small talk and continually assured me that he had paid attention to how I wanted my hair to look like. I could definitely tell that he cared and I appreciate the fact that he did an amazing job. No instructor needed. He is truly on his way to becoming a master barber. Since he is one his way out he did charge $20, but it was well worth it. I am definitely coming back. Did I mention the HOT TOWEL with the the massage?! I also noticed the barber next to me, having a great conversation with his client. Surprising, it was his first time meeting the guy. I have a super simple hair cut, and they always just do whatever they want to. They cut it too short to even if out. The rounded it out to blend it in. They tell me to trust them with thinning out my hair. It's always something they seem to know more about- as if I have been getting my haircut several times a year for years now. I have textured hair and if the student is having a tough time a teacher immediately comes to help out. They keep working on my hair until it's exactly what I want. Worse costumer service I am a long term customer went today for hair cut as usual I paid $15 cash the front desk refuse and said card I had my card on my phone asked her to scan it she refused then a customer talk to her and said I get her cash and you can scan my card she did it then after I entered the place located at the end which the floor was very dirty crowded smelling no enough space to move I sit for hair cut my hair the student took 15 minutes to only comb and it was hard to breathe because capacity of the shop and full of students and instructors and customers then I requested to put me near to the exit door they did again another student came and comb and divided my hair then told me to wait until his instructor come I said how long he answered don't know I was getting panic attack and I went to the front and requested refund Teresa started arguing making faces shutting her eyes and eyebrows up and down and said come back in the evening I went back I asked the refund which she said no argument being rude putting her shoulder up and down and I asked the owner name said Eric which he's not available all time I understand it's a school but they should put the customer with a student that already got some training not starters. I use to come her for several years but I don't know the ownership change or something else everything was terrible health department should do a supervision and also the licensing office should review their activities charging $15 is charges which a professional charge not student anyway I don't recommend anyone else and the city office should have a look for their pollution I am ready to be a wittness anywhere I can help. read more

My husband came here on a busy Saturday to get his hair cut. The haircut is great as usual. Very proud of the students here. But I am 9 months pregnant and they didn't let me sit and wait for him. The waiting area was full of clients, which I totally understand. But there where plenty of barber chairs that where empty I could of sat and waited, but they didn't let me. Being 9 months pregnant and standing on my feet more then a few minutes is hard. I was forced to leave and go find a seat or bench outside. read more

So disappointed to come in for service after 5 months as a long time customer, to find half of the barber section not wearing masks or having their noses and mouths exposed, not fully wearing their masks. There were people in such tight quarters crammed up. I did my part by wearing a mask and showing a proof of vaccination as it was asked when I made the appointment over the phone.. Despite of the mask mandate sign the lack of protocol following was disappointing and alarming. I left after addressing the matter to the attending supervisor whose response is it's your choice to leave, you are far away from them. Amazing haircut!! I went in thinking that someone would mess up my head but the students there vary in experience and skill. While I was getting my hair cut other students stopped by to observe my barber and would give their advice and tips on how to make the cut look great. This teamwork really made me feel comfortable and made me feel that I would get a great cut regardless of whomever is touching my hair. Also they are very funny and give great conversation. One thing that absolutely needs to be mentioned is the instructor. I believe that if you are the instructor of your class/ school you need to lead by example. You must be consistent and respectful to your students. Not only did the instructor arrive late (from my understanding, I may be incorrect) but more importantly walks in with a very heavy and very negative attitude. Didn't say hello to several students and decided not to teach a class that plenty of students were specifically there for. Not my curriculum but if this is an adult school there should be an adult and mature way of communicating with your class not barking and reprimanding students for little miscellaneous issues that can be fixed or resolved with respect and consistency. It all starts with the educators, and this particular instructor needs to work on proper communication. It's a pleasant feeling that the students don't reflect that negativity. I am well past 50 years old and I just can't see paying $20.00 plus for a trim I need every three to four weeks. I decided to venture in to a "Beauty School" and cannot believe the quality of the trim. The 20 something guy may have been a little slow but he was friendly and professional and you would be hard pressed to know I did not pay $20 plus! This is the worst school for anyone who is trying to pursue a barber career, the teacher get high in the bathroom, the facility is a joke. It's honestly just like a high school with no professionalism. The students spend so much money on a school where they aren't being taught and the staff sees these horrible haircuts done by learning students and don't try to interfere and let customers walk out the door looking ridiculous. The owner of the school being Erik is very unprofessional as well and only cares about the money going into his pocket not providing the proper education for his PAYING students. This whole school should be shut down and be reviewed. I believe there are other locations but if you are interested in enrolling at this school or even receiving a haircut front them just don't. Hours on yelp here aren't same as they post on their door-which say closes 4pm Sat, and I got there at 3:45 and they told me not enough students showed up and no more haircuts. Been here a number of times...hit and miss with the barbers. I tell them I want a clippers only cut, and tell them I want short all over, and they almost always leave it longer on top and I need to tell them it's not short enough.
