Great facility and caring staff! My daughter signed up for one of their weekly programs and looks forward to class every week. They start out doing stretching and warmup exercises before all the jumping, bending, and gymnastics activities. The huge room is split in half with the advance athletes on the right side. Make-up classes must be made within 2 weeks of the missed class. There is a comfortable waiting lobby downstairs (with a "healthy" vending machine and coffee dispenser) or a larger viewing area upstairs. I usually walk over to the 84 Market liquor store a few shops over to pick up a copy of the WSJ to read while waiting. There's plenty of parking at the "84 Airport" shopping plaza. The gps may tell you to turn onto Zeppelin Drive but there's actually a more direct entrance off E Jack London Ave just before Isabel Ave. read more

My 7-yr-old daughter started taking classes at WestCoast Training Center three years ago. After the free trial class, she was obsessed! She tried out for their competitive team last year and loved it! She has worked with many of the coaches, and they are all experienced, well trained, and great with kids. The owner, Marie, is very involved and still active (and well respected!) in the Acro community. Our 5-yr-old daughter was part of their pre-team program and is currently trying out for the competitive team for the upcoming season as well. Their once-a-month Kids' Night Out, Open Gym, and summer camps are great! We've also had their last two birthday parties here. If you miss a class, you're able to do a make-up class at Open Gym, and if you need to switch your day/time for class, you can do so at any time as long as there is space in the class. If I could give this place no stars I would. I started my child here and had been here for about 6 weeks. The classes seemed to be going okay no complaints about the coaches, only they also weren't the liveliest with the kids. Regardless my child seemed to be enjoying the experience so we continued here. Here's where everything went downhill and where I advise others to look elsewhere when looking for a gym. I went ahead and set up autopay as a new family because we have a lot going on and felt that would be best to avoid any issues. Mind you, I had only set it up a two months prior so I had went through billing cycles with no issues and received my statement via email. Now I receive my October statement not thinking much of it since it looks like the rest of them. Well a week goes by and I get an additional email stating there was a problem with my payment and I'm being charged a late fee. I go to investigate further to find out they had decided to take it upon themselves to update their payment systems and thus everyone on autopay got dropped from it. Not only did I receive a good charge for the "late" fee but an additional $10 for "membership fee that they decided to add on before the end of the year and prorate" which we were never told anything about when joined. They said it was a pre-Covid thing to which we were never told that may transpire. Oh and an additional raise of $3 per class to top it off because they decided to raise their prices out of the blue. I emailed them and let them know I wasn't really notified of these changes being made and that is there anyway they could be lenient on the late charge since it really wasn't on my end. I didn't even bother with other charges that were being added because I felt there was nothing that I could do. They were so unwilling to be accommodating or work with a new family. If you would like to have plenty of hidden fees and charges thrown at you this is the place for you. We will go elsewhere and go to a more family oriented establishment that actually cares about its students or "members" as they now want to refer to you. read more

Coaches watch around most of the time instead of showing kids how to do things right or correcting them if they are not doing it right. once the coach was watching another kid (babysitting) while she was giving lesson! there are way too many students in each class with a single coach. Don't know about other gymnastic classes but my son goes to swimming class and he has had huge progress. zero progress here after 2 month! read more

This is not your run of the mill gym with bars, pommels, and balance beams. At WCTC kids will learn the basics of tumbling but more importantly will be exposed to a beautiful sport known as acro-gymnastics. If you're fortunate enough to go during a time where the team is practicing, you will get to see several levels of athletes as well as age ranges practicing. The skills required are strength, flexibility, and grace. The most interesting part is that they use each other to perform many of their skills. Marie is the head coach and she has a great eye for detail. Having been a competitor herself she knows what to train for because she knows what the judges are looking for. The athletes, mostly girls, are very supportive of each other and little ones are looked after by the older ones. The older athletes show and help each other for the betterment of the team. If you are thinking about where to take your kids for some gymnastic exposure, start here first. Kids like it and they'll get to see some amazing things. read more

My friend and I attended the Wednesday night adult class at WestCoast this past week, and I'd like to document our experience so that others are able to learn from it. Especially since it's been slightly difficult for me recently to find a gym with a good adult tumbling class and I would have loved a review like this a few weeks ago. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, explaining to both of us how the class was structured and how payments (drop-in or multi-use punch card rates) worked. We were surprised to learn that our first class with them was free, in order to see if we liked the class/facility/instructors/etc. After taking the class however, I would have been more than happy to pay the $10 each for the hour of class time and extra hour of open gym that followed directly after. The instructors were equally as friendly and helpful, taking time to learn and remember the names of the newer members. Even though our class was on the larger size (about 10-15 people), they did well at dividing those with differing abilities into groups with properly-tailored levels of instruction for the activity at hand (e.g. first-time cartwheelers vs those who wanted to move up to aerials). And despite the amount of people, we both received personal pointers for improvement many times throughout the class. Overall, I would very much recommend this class. Friendly people, good instruction, and great rates. My friend and I both had a blast and will be now making this class a weekly addition to our schedules! read more

I have had a horrible experience with the lady from the front desk. It started when I tried to get a trial class in December. When I initially called her it took her twenty minutes to find a gym 1 class my daughter could do a trial in that had availability. Then before our scheduled trial date she left me a voicemail asking why I had missed the trial, though she had confused my trial class with someone else! When it was time to finally sign up I decided it would be a better approach to not sit on the phone indefinitely and instead have her email me a list of gym 1 classes that had openings. We already did the trial and they already had my waiver signed. In TWO follow up emails she refused to answer my simple question. "Which gym 1 classes are currently open for availability?" Based on that info I can choose a class. She kept telling me to call, then she referred me to the website for class times- which does not necessarily reflect availability. She can't take one minute to list open classes??? When I did my trial class I met a woman there who was complaining to me about this front desk lady. She said she was beyond rude and they were leaving the gym bc of her. I told her how difficult of a time I had just to get a trial class. If I were the owner I would be furious. Of course there is NO contact info on their website for the owner. Go figure... bad business practices. read more

***This gym is the BEST*** I try to make it regularly to the adult class which is spectacular. When I started I was unable to even do a kartwheel but now I'm working up to a back handspring. The coaches, Marie, Aleks, and Travis are so positive it makes learning new skills fun and exciting even when they are difficult. If you are looking to meet great people and challenge yourself at the same time this is the place to come. Also if you are interested in Acrobatic Gymnastics they have an incredible team. My daughter started 6 months ago and she looks forward to her weekly class with coach Shay. I like that they work with her and push her but not too much to where she's turned off. We just had our son's 5th birthday party here. It is a great venue for a Gymnastics party. The staff were both very friendly and helpful. Marie, the director, called several times before the date of the party to ensure that the party would run smoothly. The party was for two hours for children 3 and up and consisted of coaches setting up obstacle courses, playing with a parachute, jumping on the trampoline, and free play in the gym. You can have up to 20 kids for the initial fee with an option to add more for bigger parties for a little extra. Pizza, decorations, and bottled water were all part of the package as well. There is a viewing area both up and downstairs. Upstairs is where you can set up other food for the adults if you wish and relax. For kids under three, the staff set up a mini-craft area with coloring sheets, crayons, markers and stickers. There was even an area where you could set up a movie for the under aged children in the group. Overall, West Coast Training Center is a great place to have a party especially if you have a very active group of kids that you would like to entertain. Our kids fell asleep for a couple hours after the party. We would definitely recommend this venue to others and are considering having our daughter's birthday party here in the summer. read more

My daughter attends the "Tiny Tumblers" class three days a week - she's been enrolled since September, I think - and she ADORES it. She loves her coaches and has a blast with the other kids in her classes. She's very interested in learning how to do "what the big kids do" [the more advanced acrobatics] but she loves the tumble track and learning the basics as well. I'm very pleased with the coaching staff - they have a firm handle on the students in her class and are not afraid to have a child sit out when they're having a hard time following the rules - even though it's usually my kid causing the ruckus. =] I appreciate having another voice of authority in my daughter's life. She's only been attending for a few months but she's already learned so much. I anticipate having her enrolled for many months to come. read more

We have been a part of this great gym family for about year and a half. My daughter (age 12) signed up as a beginner and she was placed in Gym 2 level. Coach Nacho was very helpful and she had a lot of fun. She loved the idea of acro gym from the first day and we finally found a sport that she is interested in :-) She has been moving up levels, joined the pre-team and now she is in the comp team. Very exciting! She is now with coach Chey and she has been nothing but amazing in her coaching. I am mentioning only these two names because my daughter talks about them all the time but all other coaches as well as Kathy (front desk) have been amazingly friendly and supportive. I am very happy we chose this gym and my daughter is enjoying every moment in it. She would even go for extra open gym time just to practice. This is a wonderful place to learn gymnastics and trampoline. My 9 and 4 year old attend there and look forward to it every week. I have been to a couple other places in Livermore and I have to say that this is the best one. The teachers are great with the kids and challenge them to learn more each class. We've been attending since the summer and have had a wonderful experience here. The coaches are professional athletes with a true love for the sport and for the kids. My children (boy age 5; girl age 3) have grown strong and gained a lot of confidence in their physical abilities both in and outside of the gym. The classes are well run. The coaches know how to grow each child in their skills, they make the classes fun and positive. We think this is the best place by far. They also try to make my life easier with great pricing, easy makeup classes and great communication. I wanted to sign up for a class that they have listed on their calendar on their website and they said i couldnt sign up because they didnt have an instructor yet (so why is it on the calendar first questions), and to just keep calling back, like okay that could be what weeks of me calling back, months?? So when i tried to say instead well can i put my name down and you call me when class becomes available,....i just got hung up on. Not a good start so far...and was really looking forward to the class too. And little tip to the owners or management dont put a mommy and me class for 1-3 yr olds at 1:30 in the afternoon, that is naptime for almost every child on that planet that age.
