After leaving the city for a job in CT, going all the way to NYC for a lash lift became more of hassle, but i continued to go as it was far more affordable than anything in Westchester. I drove past Manuela's studio one day and thought to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. My first visit, I received a very warm welcome to a very clean and inviting space. Lina sat me right down in a comfortable recliner and took a look at my lashes. She noticed and informed me that my lashes were incredibly dehydrated - as a result of the product my previous lash tech had used - and let me know they would need some rehabilitating. Lina is so well-versed in her craft, she explained to me how certain products aren't good for everyone and that my lashes happened to be very sensitive to that. So she used a different product, and let me know it would take longer than what i'm used to but that i would notice a difference when my lashes were growing out, and i most definitely did. Previously, with my NYC lash tech, my lashes would grow in in all crazy directions, they were starting to get sparse (and i have naturally long and voluminous lashes thanks to nightly castor oil application). In the growing out phase after my visit to Manuela's, my lashes were noticeably more hydrated, and were not growing in all crazy directions, not to mention, the lash lift seemed to last significantly longer. Manuela and Lina are super affable, making the time go by quick. They are dedicated to making sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. The parking is a slight hassle as it is metered parking, but there is a free lot at the church across the street you can park in. If you're like me and didn't put enough time in the meter, they've gone out of their way to put money in the meter on my behalf. Like i said, cannot recommend this place enough for your lash and brow needs!

With a belly full of nerves, armed with some ideas in my head, I arrived at this beautiful little shop. I was graciously greeted by Lina. She listened to my wants and more importantly to what I didn't want. She explained what she was doing and offered comforting reassurance throughout the process. After it was done, I was absolutely in love with the brows. Lina nailed it!! My eyes pop and I definitely do not look tired. I opted for the Full Brow Design, I could not be happier with my choice. Run! This place is the complete opposite of the location in New Canaan. The staff is rushed and…read morerude. After arriving for an appointment, the salon was nearly empty, two technicians very abruptly said "take color now". They hovered while me and my little one took a couple of minutes deciding which colors we wanted in what was the quickest decision ever made by someone under eight at lunchtime. With the same frustration and hurrying, one technician directed my little one to go off with them where we could not see each other. Both women were clearly annoyed when my daughter ducked behind me while I need time to pick a color audibly huffing and curt. In hindsight, this is was the point I should have turned and left, But then I would not be warning you about this place. When we sat at the table, the person working on my child said to me, "she won't let me cut". Yes, the six year old spoke up and didn't want her nails clipped. Filing little nails is complete reasonable and a decision which makes perfect if it makes the customer comfortable. Best part of a manicure is getting her nails filed. Add to the fact, clipping was not needed. This woman was very surprised a child had the ability to speak up for herself. The person working on me proceeded to "clip a hangnail" and cut off a large amount of skin from on two fingers. It took weeks for the pain to go away. When I pulled my hand back from the pain, she cleared huffed again after hurting me and making the side of my finger it was cut so low. This was the end of the worst manicure ever. Before the appointment, she reached out to learn more about my skin concerns and current regimen. I told her my biggest skin issues were large pores, sagging skin and a dull complexion. At the appointment, she started the with dermaplaning, which removes peach fuzzes and dead skin cells. My skin instantly felt softer and more breathable. She then did a mint and papaya enzyme peel. The enzyme tingled a little but nothing unbearable and felt really refreshing and nourishing afterwards. She then removed the black heads. But first she applied a partial facial mask to loosen up the sebum in my pores and as a result there's very little pinching and squeezing to remove the blackheads unlike my previous experience with facials. I really loved how painless that was and the results are just as great! Meanwhile, she massaged my shoulders and neck and applied a décolleté peel off mask. she ended the session with a detoxifying charcoal mask. After the 90 minutes treatment, my skin looked taut and bright. The day after (today), my pores are visibly smaller, skin feels even firmer than right after the facial, and my complexion brighter with a healthy glow. Even my husband commented on how much softer my skin feels. Below is the before and after (day after) pictures I took. Even as a makeup artist, I'm not used to thinking a facial can make such a difference, but after my visit with La'Shawn, I'm a believer.
