We are past most warranty issues and we are completely happy and totally in love with our home. We have spent more time at home than we ever thought we would and have loved every minute of it. We designed this house exactly the way we needed it with 4 kids and 2 dogs. The very best decision we made was having Westbrooke build our dream home. The quality of materials and workmanship is outstanding. What really excels is Allen's communication. After dealing with 2 other builders first, the communication with Westbrooke was the defining measure. Another defining measure was the contract. I didn't want to sign until I had a contract attorney familiar with home building take a look after a bad experience with a different builder. The attorney told me that the Westbrooke Contract was a good contract to sign and looked after the interests of both the builder and the homeowner if things were to ever have to go to court.  We had the very best experience building with Westbrooke. Every idea we had Allen gave thoughtful consideration, and even when he knew it wasn't a good idea, he held our hand to show us how it could work or explained why it's not going to work. We trusted them to be the experts and their trust was well earned. Building a house is hard. We went through many ups and downs over a 3 year period. When we finally found Westbrooke, the process went smoother than we could have imagined. They were even able to get us into our home a month earlier than expected when we had lease issues where we were living. When we were looking to build, we absolutely fell in love with Westbrooke Homes designs. We will never forget the first day we walked into the Open House of his Verona Model and were blown away by it. With the many selections to choose from, we decided on the Franklin Model and were able to make a few modifications to fit our needs. Allen West and his team of folks were absolutely some of the nicest people we've met and were very knowledgeable when it came to building and customizing our new home. Once we had made the decision to have a new home built, we started looking into new construction communities and builders in the area. Before we discovered Westbrooke Homes, we sat down with a couple other builders and listened to what they were offering. After asking questions and doing some research, we just weren't really very happy with the level of customization/choices available through the larger builders in the larger communities. There was a lot that they just wouldn't change, so we either had to be happy with the way it was, or too bad. We found out about Westbrooke Homes through a Realtor we had met. We checked out their website and noticed they were getting ready to start building in a new location near where we lived. After looking at some home plans and options, the owner, Allen West, met us at the site to walk through some lots with us and answer questions. One thing that stood out about Westbrooke Homes compared to the other builders we had met with, was how open they were to our ideas/requests. After giving it some thought and weighing all of our options, we decided to have Westbrooke Homes build our new home. We chose one of their home plans and made about $100k of customizations/upgrades to it. Westbrooke was willing to accommodate our requests no matter how small or unusual they were. We had some requests that they probably don't get very often, if at all. My dad and uncles are builders, and our home inspector was a builder, so we had a lot of input from them about what we should do, and that led to a lot of questions and requests for Westbrooke. Throughout the building of the home, Westbrooke did not miss any of our special requests. We really liked how we could track the home building process online by using the Co-Construct application. Also, Allen was very good about letting us check out the progress in person whenever we asked him. Overall, the whole homebuilding process with Westbrooke was smooth and easy. There were times where we were not in complete agreement with Westbrooke about something, but I will say that Allen is very good at listening to his clients to understand their perspective and working out a mutually agreeable solution when possible. Building a home is not a perfect, flawless process. We were happy to have no major issues occur while our home was being built. There were some minor issues along the way, as there often is when so many different trades are involved. What separates builders is how they handle the issues and how they work to make their clients happy. We are glad we chose Westbrooke Homes and we would choose them again. We know that the Westbrooke crew went above and beyond to make sure our house was completed to our satisfaction. It is also comforting to know that Allen and Westbrooke Homes stand behind their homes for years to come, and we know if we have any issues in the future, Westbrooke will take care of us. I would like to add a few comments regarding the quality of the house from people who know what they are talking about. Our home inspector was a builder for over 40 years. He inspected the building of the home for us from foundation to final walk through. He called Westbrooke a "first class home builder" in the 5 star review he left after his final inspection was completed. My dad is a builder of over 40 years as well. He walked through the home prior to drywall going up and at the final walk through. After looking at every detail during the final walk through, he told Allen he builds a good home. Two of my uncles were over a few months after our home was built. They have both worked in construction for many years and built homes. They walked through the house commenting how they could tell the difference between our home and the tract homes constructed by some of the larger builders. We know that our home was well constructed with quality materials by a company that really takes pride in what they do. read more

We spent the better part of a year searching the Fredericksburg area for a ranch style home that fit our family's needs. All the houses we found in our price range were either too small, needed too much work, or the lot size was not what we were looking for. We never put too much thought into building our own custom home, but after months of searching online, attending open houses, and scheduling viewing appointments with a realtor but still coming up empty handed was disheartening. We slowly started to look into new construction from the many builders in the area. We started visiting new neighborhoods and model homes, many of them were very nice, but some we could tell that the build quality was questionable. We were glad we visited one of Westbrooke's homes. We loved Allen's style and the quality of his homes. Allen showed us a plot of land he had and we visited it in person with him. We found a plan online that we liked and Allen and his architect worked with us to customize it to fit our needs. Allen uses this wonderful program called CoConstruct that really no one in the business uses. We had contact with him and his team at all times. We were able to ask questions, upload photos of things we liked, and review and sign documents. There was never a time we felt alone or frustrated with lost communication. We loved the availability of him and his team. In building a home for the first time, we had no idea what we were doing but Allen made any fears disappear. His attention to detail and design were a huge selling point for us and the main reason we chose Westbooke and glad we did. We now are the proud owners of a beautiful well built Westbrooke home. After owning an older home and renovating it, my husband I knew we didn't want to go down that road again for our new home. We were excited to work with Allen and the Westbrooke team.
