Stopped by George and Leon's in Portland for lunch and had the Junior beef with the homemade onion…read morerings, and it absolutely hit the spot. The beef was tender, flavorful, and piled just right, with plenty of sauce to make every bite satisfying without being too much. The onion rings were a standout--crispy, golden, and clearly homemade, with great seasoning and a fresh taste you do not get everywhere. This was one of those simple, classic meals done really well. Good portions, great flavor, and exactly the kind of local spot you hope to find when you are in town. I would gladly order this again.

What I opened up was two super beef sandwiches that were well done, flavorless & not rare like they should be. A north shore 4 way sandwich should never be well done. I'm more than pissed,I just spent $60.00 plus an $9.00 tip. The only good part of my order was the very kind woman who took my order. I'm expecting a refund on my sandwiches that clearly should have been rare not well done. I'll be calling George & to express my disappointment. I've eaten north shore 4 ways probably a dozen times from multiple restaurants. Never once until today has the roast beef been nothing but a perfect rare. From now on I will be forever ordering my sandwiches from Roasty's in Portland, Maine. George & Leon's you let me down big time

Tall order - but it worked! I have loved this place since they opened and living in the burbs I don't get there as much as I'd like. So going on a day when it was CRAZY busy was a leap, but a good one. You know it's a good sign when all team members are focused and working as one - even their James Beard nominated chef brought out a plate or two - luckily at our table! Sometimes I am too much a creature of habit but this time I went a bit rogue - for me anyway! Started with a Woodford Apertif that was just right to accompany their amazing deviled eggs. Four of us so like them that we each get one and a half. For brunch I joined one friend and went for Turkish Eggs and Avocado toast - it was amazingly good, and again totally not me. The eggs were poached just right, the Turkish flavoring added so much and when all kind of layered on the avocado toast - yummy! Wayne and another friend insisted they were going healthier with the Baked Eggs Florentine. Again a perfectly poached egg atop spinach and served with a tasty focaccia and fruit cup. One of the first times I've not had a burger and fries while at Woodford - but way delish. Going on Mother's Day also meant a huge crowd that included rowdy kids, but the food, the company, the staff and the friends made it worthwhile.

We were so engaged in our amazing food and conversation, I neglected to get pics of the cool interior and our dishes! First off, our server was really great. She didn't rush us when our chatting made us lose focus on ordering. She was quite attentive however. Three in our party ordered the burger. They were all really impressed with them and enjoyed their meals. I had the mussels, which were outstanding! My only complaint would be that the spices on their fries were too much for me, but I am very sensitive to spice (due to a long-ago unexpected encounter with a scotch bonnet pepper sauce). The staff recommended a super bottle of wine and our cocktails were just perfect, too. What a fantastic place!

It was an album release party for local pop-punk/emo band Broadwing. The card featured other local bands as well as a New England DJ. I know now that some shows at Blue are free or minimal cover which is great. Tickets for this show ended up being $12 which is a great value for a concert/night out. Hard to find tickets that cheap nowadays. The person working the door was friendly and had our name already so didn't even need to pull the tickets up. Bartenders were friendly and the drinks were well made. I especially liked their spicy cocktail Bing Bong which had the perfect kick to it! Prices were reasonable for drinks as well. Venue is on the small side as expected but had a great vibe for intimate smaller shows. Even with a sold-out show it was not overpacked. The acoustics and sound were good for a smaller venue as well. If you love smaller concerts I would recommend checking out their event schedule to see if something piques your interest. Also if you are a fan of pop punk music then do yourself a favor and check out Broadwing (especially their song New England Baby)! Very down to earth friendly band!

If I don't, there is NO current reliable information on who's scheduled. Pathetic and unreliable. I'm not doing it. I've enjoyed many evenings there, but the basic management of the venue is a joke. It will be a shame when it closes. What acts are scheduled for the NEXT WEEK? How difficult is that to maintain? Apparently, it's not possible.
