The Offering.... This pic does not do it justice

Amazing as always! I have NEVER had a bad meal here and today is no different. Love the staff they are always friendly and wonderful! For a spooky, classic horror movie fan the ambiance is always fun!! Today I had their special The Offering!! It is grilled roast beef topped with mushroom gravy and onions! It is a sub and I am amazed I demolished it all on my own!! The roll oh my it was so fresh and perfect for the sandwich!! The husband got their steak and cheese which also is always delicious! Thanks again for another stellar meal.

Super Beef cut in half and murder it (Extra sauce). So yummy.

I remembered when they used to have their food truck up by the breweries on Industrial Way. Was excited to finally go visit their restaurant location. We once tried on a Saturday night, but we learned they sell out of beef some Saturdays so by evening they may be out (they are closed Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays). So call ahead on Saturday late lunch end evenings to be safe. This time we went 11:30am Saturday to ensure we could try. Plenty of free parking in the back, back and front entrance. We walked in and wasn't sure what to do but they said we could order up front or just sit and they will take our order. We split the Super Beef and onion rings. I knew the beef sandwich was going to be good. Onion roll, slightly toasted with butter, mayo and we murdered it (Extra sauce). The onion rings were a nice surprise. Reminds me of Varsity in Atlanta (iykyk). The seasonings on them soo good. Sriracha ranch to dip was good as well. We only had water but they have lots of beers, seltzers in bottles. I think a few cocktails as well. Definitely a fun spot to visit. Yummy food. I want to try the Steak & Cheese next as the pics looked good and a few people ordered those while we dined in. Also the loaded beef fries sound yummy too! Just a note as I'm not familiar with this location. When you exit it's a one way street, so make sure you turn right out of there.

I give up. I have tried this place multiple times now and there is never any consistency. I ordered the cheeseburger sub today and it was so drowned in "sauce" that it was disgusting and impossible to eat. I do not see us returning.

Food is excellent! Roast beef had a great sauce and was loaded with roast beef. The chicken sandwich and chicken tendies were big and juicy. The onion rings were phenomenal with a chipotle sauce that was the bomb. The service was friendly and efficient. When you go there, be sure to check out the bathroom decor. This place is awesome.

I got the Super Beef, eight ounces of meat, and added the mushrooms, peppers, and onions to it. It was worth it. It really brought the whole sandwich out. The meat itself was tasty. The staff was very friendly and it was a cozy restaurant although I got mine to go. The pricing was off and I was charged a couple extra dollars but it was late and I just wanted to eat. The last thing I would say is at its price point, even if there wasnt an error, it should have come with a small side of fries or something included.

The Super Beef was outstanding. The staff working are very knowledgeable and friendly. I love how the place is decorated inside. Wendy the retard would love this place

Our first time here and we were a little confused what to do when we entered. I wished they had signs and menus when you entered in the back door. An example would be, when you decide what you want go to the bar to order. I think that would help a lot of new customers like us! The lady at the bar was very nice. When she saw us she yelled, menu's are on the tables! We sat and watched others to get the drift of how to order. We noticed the one sign at the bar, order here. I got in line and when it was my turn I ordered and paid. She said they would call my name when my order was ready. My name was called and I went to pick up our lunch. The food was hot and very good. Our favorite were the onion rings. Freshly made and a delicious sauce served with them. It is a busy place!

We've visited G&L's 3 times now and we've yet to be disappointed. The meat is always so.gosh.darn.FRESH! I didn't know how good rare roast beef could be until I tried George and Leon's (A*by's could never). But beyond the amazing food, the vibes here are immaculate. There is a sort of horror film theme to the decor, the staff is a little in the punk rock side (which is v entertaining), and I love their various themed nights, events, and social media presence. They have a "Fred Durst Friday" deal where you get $3 rose. Or go for trivia on Wednesdays! Recently they had a movie where they showed the Disney live action classic, Heavy Weights. Who said all the cool spots had to be in Portland? Westbrook definitely has it going on, and G&L's is part of that movement.

    A whole Lot of Yum!

The Super Beef is legit. Worth all of $19. Reminds me of the North Shore. Nothing locally compares.

Everything is self-serve: you get your own water and cutlery, order at the front, and they bring the food out to you. We ordered the "weird little salad" for $10 and two pepperoni pizzas for $18 each, one with a hot honey add-on (additional $2). I didn't love the "weird little salad," since it was a strange clash of flavors of textures (perhaps as advertised?), but my main gripe is that it was extremely tiny, basically the size of a ring dish, barely enough for one person. We enjoyed the pizza, which was on the oilier side but yummy. Overall, though, we left the place feeling underwhelmed. For two pizzas and a tiny bit of salad, the bill came out to over $60, which felt like a lot given the casual barstool seating and the lack of sit-down service. For a quick bite in a time crunch, maybe I'd come back again, but otherwise, I'll probably stick to Portland's many other great offerings.

Once you are seated, you're handed a paper menu on which you mark your selections, then bring that marked-up menu to the counter, where you order and get a number. Food is brought up to you, and you can order subsequent rounds of food by crossing out previous orders and marking up the menu anew. I would highly recommend multiple rounds of oysters -- the first to try one of each and figure out which varieties you prefer, the second to get more of the ones you like, and the last to go all in on your favorite. They've got a varied selection that will suit various tastes, whether you favor a large creamy oyster, a small briny guy, or somewhere in between. All from Maine, which made me feel better about having oysters in a non-ber month. The oysters here are top notch, and the shuckers are, too. Not a single speck of shell in there! I love oysters, and this was my paradise. The non oyster items are also worth trying, so if you have a friend who isn't into oysters, there's something here for them, too. The smoked fish dip and french onion dip are awesome, and the chips they get from another local producer are fantastic. Whether you're a beer lover, a wine person, or a cocktailer, they've got something for you here. Any of those could be the perfect company for your favorite oyster, or you could go for their cucumber mint lemonade slushy, which is insanely refreshing and a great palate cleanser between oysters. Service is efficient, welcoming, and friendly. I think anyone from an oyster novice to an aficionado would feel right at home here. If I didn't live on the opposite side of the country, I'd be here all the time. Unfortunately for me, I'm relegated to pining for these oysters from a distance. If you live nearby, take advantage of your proximity and eat some oysters for me.

Tall order - but it worked! I have loved this place since they opened and living in the burbs I don't get there as much as I'd like. So going on a day when it was CRAZY busy was a leap, but a good one. You know it's a good sign when all team members are focused and working as one - even their James Beard nominated chef brought out a plate or two - luckily at our table! Sometimes I am too much a creature of habit but this time I went a bit rogue - for me anyway! Started with a Woodford Apertif that was just right to accompany their amazing deviled eggs. Four of us so like them that we each get one and a half. For brunch I joined one friend and went for Turkish Eggs and Avocado toast - it was amazingly good, and again totally not me. The eggs were poached just right, the Turkish flavoring added so much and when all kind of layered on the avocado toast - yummy! Wayne and another friend insisted they were going healthier with the Baked Eggs Florentine. Again a perfectly poached egg atop spinach and served with a tasty focaccia and fruit cup. One of the first times I've not had a burger and fries while at Woodford - but way delish. Going on Mother's Day also meant a huge crowd that included rowdy kids, but the food, the company, the staff and the friends made it worthwhile.
