Before my first appointment, I was told to fast at least 8 hours. I did. When I got to the office, they said "You didn't have to do that, we found that you already had a physical within the last year". So they let me starve until 2 in the afternoon for nothing. A phone call would have been nice. When I got home, I went online to discover that I did not have a physical within the last year. They were like "oh well". I told the doctor that the only meat I eat is fish. She said that's not good, it has mercury. Yes, some fish have mercury, but not what I eat. I maintain a Mediterranean diet. It's known that the diet provides a long, healthy life. The doctor needs to retire, she is quite old and not up-to-date. read more

My visit with Dr. Bhawna Khanna was wonderful. From the time I entered the office, greeted by kind, considerate office staff, the nurse who took my stats, to meeting and getting my exam by the doctor herself. It was excellent, start to finish. I appreciate Dr. Khanna's 'bedside' manner and the way in which she treated me with understanding and respect. She spent about 30 minutes with me and I never felt she was rushing or thinking about anything else but her patient - me. I love that she is an independent physician and knows the best thing you can give your patient is your time and attention. Dr. Khanna has been my primary physician for about a year and a half, maybe closer to two years. Every experience has been positive thus far. The office scheduling staff has been great, the nurses have been caring and thorough and I have found the doctor to be knowledgeable. I don't ask a lot of questions typically, but have felt more comfortable asking this doctor questions more than ones I went to previously. Dr. Khanna has been my Doctor for over 16 years. There is no finer Doctor in the US in my opinion. Every diagnosis she has ever given me has been correct. We live outside of Chattanooga TN and my wife and I still drive 2 hours one way because of quality and service of her and her staff. They are great! I must let it be known I had a terrible accident with my big toe bone a 2x4 fell on it I thought it was broke I called in at 10 something that morning gave them the situation they said they were going to call back and tell me what I need to do ...get an x-ray or whatever....they didn't call backt until 4 hours later! Got an appointment for the next day got there I was informed I need to pay for the B12 shots I just started receiving contradicting what I was told when I began to get them which was I would not have to pay anything for the shots and wanted me to do them weekly.... I told the people that was representing the ''Dr'' that I was not going to deal with that now I'm in too much pain and I was told one thing and now it's something else I'll deal with that later... finally got back to the patient's room...the doctor finally came in and all I could do is shake my head and say do you know I did not get a call back for 4 hours ??? she did not like that... she began to argue for some reason she said she has things to do patients to see and they just don't drop things to give a call back I expressed to her there should have been a call back with reasonable promptness... she did not like that! ..if you can't do your job properly don't do it at all... if you need help get help don't be greedy and try to do everything and can't do it and people are in pain. She said she has situations goting on in just can't stop things to call back right away ...''Dr'' told me I didn't have to come to her I can go somewhere else I expressed to her believe me I know that .. believe me I know that you do not have to tell me that .she recommended that I get an x-ray. There is no way in the world I would ever go back to that practice I'm not sure that it is because of my skin color or what but I know they should have handle the situation totally different ...I'm going to do all that I need to do to make sure that all the proper Channels will be aware of the situation no one.. not even a dog should be treated like that in a case of a possible broken bone!!! Unfortunately have had a pretty negative experience with lack of consideration and communication. My health care interaction could have been handled in a professional matter but instead, a staff that I had previously thought highly of and depended on for my health care, treated me as though I was a hindrance. And when I stood up for myself and my maltreatment, I was verbally hassled, abused, and hung up on. My care is important to me, and my family. And physicians and their team are accountable for their advice and actions. As a registered nurse and as a client of healthcare, I will seek the care of a more empathetic and knowledgeable primary care practice. read more
