It has been renovated but the biggest issue is no elevator and they placed us on the third floor. If I knew I would have requested a lower floor. Amenities are minimal. There is coffee in the lobby but not in the room. No breakfast. The room is generally clean and the bed comfortable but pretty minimalistic. The bathroom was not cleaned well. I have stayed at the Westborough Inn many times over the last year +. In fact, it is my preferred hotel whenever I am visiting this area. It is located in a cute little area that is walkable to shops, restaurants, gas, & groceries. At the same time, it is far enough away that it is peaceful & quiet around the property. Backed up toilets and bedbugs, oh my! There is no onsite staff at night. Check in and other services were provided by teleconference video connection through a kiosk in the lobby. The connection worked very well and the remote service people were very helpful. When our toilet was backed up after check-in, they were able to tell me where to find a plunger. When I was still unable to get it to flush properly, they were able to change our room. That said, I'd be concerned if I were to return that the lack of on-site staff could result in problems that couldn't be resolved until the cleaning staff arrive the next day. My wife and I enjoyed our 8 night stay at the Westborough Inn. There was plenty of room for the two of us. We had room 18 which had comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, a fridge and microwave, and a rack above the appliances to hang coats and pants. My favorite part of our stay was sitting in lobby drinking Keurig coffee and talking with the hotel staff. When we needed to make our fresh juices, we were offered the use of the full kitchen downstairs. That's where we loaded up on ice as well. I would definitely stay here again. Be aware that this is a quiet building. Leave the kids and pets at home. read more

This place is disgusting. The sink didn't work, there were stains on the floor scotch tape everywhere. It smelt like cigarette smoke in the rooms and especially when the AC was on. The only positive part was the people that worked there were friendly, hot water and the bed was pleasantly comfortable. I stayed here July 16, 2022. The Westborough Inn is not worth any amount of money. It's so shabby I felt like I was staying at a place that rents room by the hour. There was a section of the carpet (underneath the A/C unit) that was missing, the tub was stained dirty, the awning was shabby, and there were mattresses in the parking lot that looked like they didn't make it into the dumpster that was there. I phoned to give feedback, and the woman I spoke to (she said she was a manager) was extremely rude and aggressive. I was calling to give feedback and she demanded why I phoned 6 days after I stayed. Asked why I didn't talk with someone before I left, why didn't I call the day I checked out? Didn't know there was a time limit for giving feedback. There was no one at the desk when I came into the lobby around 10:30-11 pm and no one there when I was leaving around 9:45 am. My room shouldn't have been rented out. Period. Avoid unless you can personally inspect before staying here. It looks cute from the road, but there's nothing cute about it. Find another place to stay. read more

SHORT VERSION:  A/C didn't work, many amenities were missing, the advertised complimentary breakfast did not exist, no ice maker or even any means of making coffee existed on the premises.   ************************* We spent this weekend at the Westborough Inn. It's marketed as having air conditioning and complimentary breakfast. Also, presumably, working bathtubs and sufficient bath linens for guests. None of the above was in evidence. It was upwards of 85 degrees in our room the first night!   Apparently, the A/C issue is recurring, because when I called down to ask if they had a window fan we could use because it was sweltering in our room, the answer was "there should be one in your closet ."  (There was not. Perhaps it was with the second washcloth or bar of soap, which weren't in the bathroom.)  A number of rooms were affected; at least 3 rooms in our group lacked working A/C.  They brought us electric fans the first night, which helped a little. They couldn't move us to other rooms, since so many rooms were affected, so the next day they arranged to have a bunch of window units delivered and installed.  That certainly helped. Tried to take a cool bath, that first night, in hopes of cooling off enough to sleep. Had to use the one washcloth provided to stop the tub drain enough to get the tub to fill, because the stopper wasn't functional.   If the A/C were the only failing, I'd understand - machinery breaks, sometimes, in spite of all efforts to the contrary.  But there were other missteps.  The advertised complimentary breakfast simply doesn't exist; there wasn't even any reference to it.  No notice in the room.  Nothing.  Not so much as a coffee maker in the room was provided!  Nor an ice bucket - but that's ok as there's no ice machine.  The mini-fridge worked but with no ice maker or vending machines from which to get beverages, there was nothing to keep cold.  Basics that should have been provided in the rooms were missing.  We lacked a second washcloth or bar of soap, and others in our party were lacking soap, shampoo, conditioner, and even toilet paper in their rooms!   The staff were courteous and apologetic, but that only goes so far.   I stayed here because I had to, for a funeral weekend. It's cheap so my expectations were quite low; nothing came close to meeting those expectations. I'd have gladly paid more for lodging that actually honored its marketing claims, and reliably provided basic amenities! read more

This inn changed ownership in the past year. Current management is inhospitable. Most of the time the front desk is unattended with a "Be right back" sign on the counter. The do not even have complimentary coffee in the morning and our room did not have a coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave. The is no handicapped access at all. There are rooms on three floors and no elevator. Neither washing machine in the laundry room was working during our stay. We definitely will not return. read more

The website far outshines the actual site. Having read the "good" reviews, I wonder how long ago they were posted. We found it shabby. The list of amenities is a joke. There were no tissues or drinking cups. There was a big screen TV, a microwave and a little refrigerator. The bed was sunk in the middle so much we had a hard time getting out of it. One of the worst places I've ever stayed. Ugly, ugly room. When we got there the entire place smelled like hot dog water. Luckily we were only staying there for a night. Still just a bad experience. We asked the front desk for restaurant recommendations. They gave us a list with their top three highlighted....the first was dominos. The other two had two stars on yelp. We ended up going to a nice Asian restaurant and had a good meal. There was plumbing problems in the middle of the night. Bugs in the bathroom. My friends were just kicked out of this hotel as they were three people planning to share a King Room. When searching for a room for three people on the hotels website the King room came up as an option, I even just attempted to do so myself and found I was able to do so. No roll away was offered, even though per their website says it should have been with three people in the room. The real reason this business turned down my friends was due to their relationship. They did not approve of the personal arrangement and instead of upholding the reservation decided to kick them out, embarrass, judge and berate them. These people are not supportive of people who are gay, or polyamorous, and care VERY much about who their guests are sharing a bed with. If you are okay with this kind of speculation about your personal bed time arrangements from their staff, then this place may be satisfactory. However if you do not feel that this staff should bring personal belief into where you can stay after a month long reservation and no where to go, then maybe these are not the people who deserve your money. read more

I wish I could leave less than one star because this has honestly been the worst hotel experience of my life. I traveled across the country to visit family and enjoy a relaxing vacation and was refused service by the front desk staff despite having a reservation for months. I can only assume that this is because I was traveling with my wife and our partner. I was hoping to support a local business during my stay, but had to scramble to find alternative lodging in the middle of the night instead, as I was turned away from this establishment. We were told "this is not the place for you" and the staff member even threatened to call the cops when we protested this treatment. I booked three rooms at the Westborough Inn for a wedding in town. From the moment we check in to the moment we checked out we were treated with suspicion and like we had done something wrong. For example, we made a request for a cot, but they did not have any cots left even though their website said these were available by request. That was annoying enough, but then the next morning they tried to charge us an extra $20 for a cot we never received. We were hassled about this during our family breakfast, making everyone in my party very uncomfortable. It was not a very welcoming environment. I would not book a room at this hotel again. Terrible experience here. While playing a board game early in the evening, the manager came and banged so loudly on the door that we were frightened and asked who it was. He responded "housekeeping." When we answered he acted extremely unprofessionally, screaming at us red-faced about our noise. Had he calmly told us he felt we were too loud, we would have gladly abided. But rather than give an initial warning, this man acted like no owner/manager should. I was literally stunned at his behavior. We immediately in that moment canceled the rest of our reservation. It is unclear why you intend to visit Westborough; I'm assuming you have family here or something and don't want to spring for the local B&B. Fair enough. The Westborough Inn is a totally decent place to stay. It's clean, quiet, close to Route 9 and to "downtown" Westborough, and the proprietors are sweet and won't bug you. Oh--and free wi-fi, too! Pretty high-speed--a nice surprise. On the basement level, there's even a little breakfast and living room area with a pool table, a fridge you can use, and a TV with a bunch of VHS tapes and DVDs. There are also several coin-op washer-dryers and a little workout room with a treadmill, exercise bike, weight machine, and some free weights. The "continental" breakfast is better than most. There's orange juice, several kinds of cereal, bagels, cream cheese, tea, coffee, cranberry bread, and more. The coffee, however, is not very good. I kept having to stop at Starbucks in the morning, which I'd rather not have done. If the coffee was decent and the mattress was a little softer or higher quality, I'd give this place a full five stars. This was our second time staying here (this time was for about five nights), and we were decently pleased again. For the price, a solid bet. Plus, it's nice to support a locally-owned business instead of a big chain hotel. read more

Stayed here for a night on the road for work. My wife found it on booking.com and suggested it, the price was so reasonable. This place was absolutely adorable, super cute and homey. The downside- it was 80 degrees in MA and they didn't have the AC turned on yet. I'm a big guy and i get hot, but it was okay. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the best was comfy and great. Also, the breakfast was slightly lackluster- fruit, bagels, etc. and as a person with lactose sensitivity, they didn't have almond or soy milk for the cereal. I am planning a trip to Massachusetts in 2017 and am considering Bed and Breakfasts for myself and at least 6 other parties. But after hearing about the experience my friends have , I will never even consider this place . The policy per the website and booking is that 3 can be booked to a King as long as there is a roll away. The desk clerk took one look at my friends and told them that "this wasn't the place for them". Didn't even offer a rollaway. Just told them to get out . You just lost business with not only those individuals but multiple communities . Individual sexual preferences aside , that seems a really silly way to run a business as money spends . read more

Our room was adequate but the inn was not. A transformer in the parking lot buzzed throughout the night keeping us awake. This place was definitely not handicapped friendly either. I had a broken ankle and cars parked so close to the outside ramp made it difficult for me to even get to the ramp. Bicycles were also parked on the ramp. Due to our late arrival, our room was on the second floor. Navigating the stairs was a challenge since there was no elevator. Breakfast wasn't an option for me. It was 2 flights down in the basement and the house rules clearly stated that food must be eaten in the breakfast room. We won't be staying here again. read more

A wonderfully kind staff and affordable accommodations make this a good place to hit the hay after a long day of traveling. We stayed in one of their $124 night rated rooms and it was very pleasant. Check-in was very smooth as we had keys waiting for us after arriving late. The continental breakfast isn't the largest spread, but it's a nice way to start the day with coffee/tea, pastries and fruit. The fitness center is a little sparse. Overall this was a comfortable stay made better by a kind staff. Good Wi-Fi as well! read more

A super cute little B&B style inn. The room was comfy and clean, not stale or dirty like some places. A homey feel throughout the entire place, from the friendly front desk people, to other guests. Coffee and tea offered in a room downstairs all day/night, complimentary breakfast and coffee! A TV in the room, as well as a small fridge. Hi, I hesitated to write this. And then I realized that it might be helpful. I stayed at the Westborough Inn in March for business. I want to say that the man at the desk - who was there 2nd and 1st shift, was very nice and accommodating. However, I still feel I need to write this. I had two rooms as I had to move because of my bathroom sink leaking all over the bathroom floor and noise from the stair well. Both rooms were dirty. Like deep dirt. Like who ever cleans just does a surface job and never catches up. It is bad enough we know there is dirt we can not see, but when you can see it all over and know it is in layers- is awful. The window shades were broken and filthy. I really just can not recommend this place. It was a great location. :( read more

Bring your own sheets,comforter and blanket and towels. This Inn has 2 things that it can boast of.....location to center of town,and a lit parking lot. The room was dusty,and dark. Over crowded with furniture,a lot of extension cords among them an outdoor orange one,many strip outlets,one was metal that totally stopped working taking with it power from tv and that side of the room(that was in the 1st room,a twin bed mattress was resting on a plug for the refrigerator,which was jammed in between a night table and a queen bed,on the one wall. poor drainage in bathroom sink,the same bathroom that has a non locking window directly on the street. Linens need to be replaced or washed, and one extra blanket was thrown up in the closet. We decided after the first night to not stay there the second..however when walking by the desk and this was at noon we asked if they would hold the room for an hour until we reached our daughter,we were told that he could hold it all afternoon as we owned it.He had already run the card for the second night. We stayed the second night and were pleased to have fresh towels,2 washcloths,2bath towels and 2 hand towels. the problem was there were three of us. In summary we will never stay there again and do not recommend it Save your money,spend a few dollars more and stay in a decent hotel. read more

I stayed at this inn for two nights. I picked it mostly because of the price and the picture looked nice. The room was small but comfortable. My room was near the street so I could hear traffic, but it was not too bad. The bathroom was small as well, with a small shower stall, but it was adequate for my needs. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, bringing me some bags of ice upon request. The cleaning lady spoke broken English and I saw her a few times listening to music through earbuds. She also spoke loudly on her phone the same way as she was walking past the kitchen area. She smiled nicely to all. The breakfast was OK, consisting of hard boiled eggs, rye bread, english muffins, crescent rolls, and cold cereal. Milk and yogurt were in the refrigerator. There was a toaster and a microwave available. There was a small patio with some benches and a table and chairs, but no pool. I had a refrigerator in the room that was on top of a box of some kind, and it tipped forward every time I opened it. But at least it kept my food cold. I had some issues connecting to the internet the first night but was able to connect the second night. All in all it was a decent place to stay, clean, more quaint than a hotel chain, and the door to the room opened inside, so it was safe. read more
