The day we turned the corner from Emma onto Main to discover the aftermath of the West Side Beer Depot fire could've been categorized as one of my life's defining moments. I felt confused, abandoned, and denied. I saw a celebratory summer filled with all the craft beer and cider my little heart desired (sometimes in slow-mo), and all within walking distance too. Instead it included a one-hour round trip bus ride - with a transfer and not including the return-trip wait time - or a one-hour round trip walk to the other Beer Depot, or tolerating, with a stiff upper lip, the beer selection at our local Price Chopper; and this lasted through early December. We'd been making regular trips to Lane's next door since the fire (Great place by the way! Their staff is professional, in the know about where things are in the store, and happy to point out a good deal whether you ask or not), So it goes without saying we were hopeful when we started seeing signs of reconstruction in the West Side Beer Depot's empty space. When we learned that they'd officially re-opened, I felt like someone had lifted me in the air and twirled me around. It's not an emporium, but the selection is varied enough to never bore you (like Ithaca Coffee Company's), and I'm not just talking about the different breweries and cideries you'll see on the shelves. This is the type of place that'll stock a wider range of products for a given company; so instead of having the choice of two or three products for X brewery/cidery, you'll see, like, four or five products from certain companies. They bring in seasonal and limited edition products too. And they're willing to make space on their shelves for new products like this in-state black current cider we stumbled upon last week. Last but not least, they small talk about their products in a genuine way as if they've tried them, which I appreciate. And they have mainstream beer and premade stuff in a can and all that...but most of them are stocked away from the real deal in another part of the store...where they belong. Appropriate. (They need a separate cash register over there. J/K!) So if you like learning about craft beer and cider, this is definitely an option. If I had a car I'd patronize this business just like the other customers I see pull up to give support to these guys. Thanks for staying in the game, West Side Beer Depot! read more

This place is the WORST!!! DO NOT BUY from them!!! We purchased a keg for a party and when we returned would not returned it they would not give the deposit back because we didn't have our receipt! So they took the $100 deposit !! They are ridiculous!!!! read more

Lots of beers but, and this is a big but, know the price of the beer on the shelf sticker before you pay. This place has continued to overcharge at the register. read more

Awesome selection of beer wine and liquor. Everything you want and need from your neighborhood liquor store.

Large beer store. They seem to have the greatest selection of craft beers in the area, at reasonable prices, including many Belgians. Shelves are somewhat disorganized, but the place is worth a visit. read more

Be aware that this place has a habit of overcharging from what is priced on the shelf. Happened to me at least 4 times until I figured out what they were doing. Happened to family and friends in the area too. Know the price before you pay them! I am in Binghamton. don't know why review said location is California. read more
