I asked each what surgical approach they used, and all said the classical lateral one. When I asked about other surgical options, all were dismissive of any other technique. After I moved to St. Petersburg, my Rheumatologist recommended Dr. Bolhofner (she indicated he was the surgeon the physicians go to). Surgery was without any incidents, I was up and walking the day of surgery, and have kept walking ever since. No problems, no complications.
