I asked each what surgical approach they used, and all said the classical lateral one. When I asked about other surgical options, all were dismissive of any other technique. After I moved to St. Petersburg, my Rheumatologist recommended Dr. Bolhofner (she indicated he was the surgeon the physicians go to). Surgery was without any incidents, I was up and walking the day of surgery, and have kept walking ever since. No problems, no complications. Great surgeon, good office staff (I never waited more than 10 min). Minor warning, Dr. Bolhofner has a slightly dry sense of humor (then, he IS a surgeon)!

The doctor tried to talk me out of it, said PT would be "just exercises" and instead, offered me pain killers and steroids. But as a dancer, I have never been lazy or looking to skate by and mask my problems with pills. More pills, more problems is my motto. Anyway, luckily, I found Chet. Chet showed me some awesome neck exercises, evaluated my keyboard equipment for me, recommended I start sleeping with a wrist brace at night. And now, four months after therapy sessions, I am PAIN FREE. Of course, I do my part by keeping up with the exercises at home, but I can't thank him enough for his care.

I came for therapy for my back after falling on a tile floor. They reviewed with me specifics of my progress. I could always count on a friendly personal greeting from the guys in the front who take care of things up there. His enthusiasm about his work and podiatry is counter balanced by his receptionist's lack of enthusiasm for her job. She is competent in all aspects of her work. But it feels like she is performing her functions by rote - that she could do it in her sleep. I do not find her to be a ''people person'' in her interaction with Dr Katz's clients. She does her job but i get the feeling she rather be doing something else. Having been a receptionist in the medical field, I always greeted the client with a smile, issued a welcoming salutation and thanks when payment is made. Don't get me wrong, you will be treated adequately, but you just won't get ''service with a smile'' from this receptionist.
