This park is super awesome especially for little ones padded floors so they can fall down and not…read moreget hurt pretty high structures too for them to climb up and feel like they're on top of the world. My son enjoyed it. It was very packed. I recommend going in the morning when it's not so hot or during the fall seasons when it's cooler, you can go all day bring water the drinks that are being sold by vendors. There are extremely expensive and I don't recommend it.

I can't believe that I have come down to the zoo numerous times and never took a little stroll down…read moreand came to this play area. Granted, you would probably be exhausted at the zoo unless you put a timer on like I do, so that we don't all have meltdowns, but I digress. But I am really happy to come across this play area. Was it weird walking up and down the rolling hills of the playground with a stroller? Absolutely. But would I do it again? Absolutely. I really love how they had a rubber ground for the patrons to walk on because I'm really sick of the wood chips. I'm not sure who started putting shards of wood under our children when they play, but I'm over it. We came here on one of the handful of nice weather days weekend down here in Houston. I'm not sure how hot the playground would be during the summer, because a lot of the material here is metal, but I would definitely check it out again!

Came to sit outside and read a book. Noticed the trees here have matured tremendously. Im happy…read moreabout the extended shade. This park is small compared to Hermann Park, but its just the right size for kids. They have ping pong, a golf station, few food trucks and climbing stations. Lots of green space for the kids to run around on and play catch, tag, or kickball. There is street parking and also a parking garage right on the other side.

The Michael Jackson playlist serenading us from the Gaspacho's eatery was nostalgic. Even though the Sunset Bingo MC was difficult to hear while seated on the grass, the staff were more than willing to rearrange some tables to accommodate the growing crowd. On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal. Birthdays? reunions? book a spot! The nearby restaurants and easy parking are major pluses. Levy Park has a packed calendar of events so I'm bound to be back before the summer ends.

3.5 stars Cool place…read moreto hangout, but dang, why the metal slides in Houston? We went on a cloudy, cooler day (high of 81) in March, but the slides were still too hot. There is some shade provide by the canopies but definitely not enough. The bottom of the slides were still hit by the sun, and they're hot enough to burn you. I don't even wana think about in the middle of summer when Houston gets up to 100 degrees. My 2.5 yo enjoyed the playground otherwise. It was just too hot to enjoy all the things. She did really enjoy the water part and the sand. (We brought her swimming shirt and shorts, and she just walked in the sand and water barefoot. Surprisingly the concrete sidewalks didnt feel hot.) I stayed very close to her as she walked around the metal platforms (i could see this as being super dangerous, especially if crowded). The individual family restrooms are on the water side btw. The park side does not have changing tables in the restrooms. We saw some swings nearby, but there was no shade whatsoever (trees, canopies), which is a bummer bc she loves swings. Carousel is closeby. $3/ride or $6 all day. Parking is a bit further. We found free parking near the roundabout (Googlemaps: Parking man (Free parking)). We went around lunch on a Monday so there was a handful of empty spots, however on a weekend, forget about it. I absolutely hate driving down here. We walked through the Japanese Garden (recommend) since it's on the way to the playground.

Amazing place, water park & playground combined, stay cool and get creative with water leveraging…read moredamning etc
