This is a theatre whose glory years were in the 60's and 70's. It's pretty dated and old. We came here to see First Monday in May. From what I can tell, this is one of those theatres that show art films, documentaries and foreign films. The theatre is cash only. For the two of us, it was $24 to see the movie on a Wednesday evening. We got a medium popcorn, medium Diet Coke and a box of junior mints: total bill $16. The staff was friendly and helpful. The actual theatre/screen in which we saw the movie is small and dated. Seating was fine--none of the fancy reclining chairs that one is used to nowadays. There was also a strange smell though out the facilities. The restrooms were dated and old as well (one of the two sinks was broken). There is only street parking. Make sure you bring quarters. Meters have a one hour limit and are free after 6:00 pm.

SUMO!!!!

I love old movie houses. They transport us to a time that we may only see in pictures. I've passed by this place at thousand times and have glanced at her marquee of films I've loved or desired to see. Me and a friend went to see a film after dinner but we could not decided. The staff was very informative and filled us in on each one, helping us make a decision, which was a great choice. Parking is a premium here on the street but the neighborhood is good and very quaint. The theatre itself is cozy, the popcorn is fresh and has real butter on it!!! Beyond that it is not that memorable. The decor is layered from other decades and not that distinct. The movies are why you come here. Great films at a great price. I hope places like this last but from the small crowd the night we went, they are only doomed to pass into time with the soda jerks and penny candy stores.

Old school theatre. Cozy and pleasant. Your friendly neighborhood movie theater. In danger of being shut down so please support the place.

New Repertory Theatre - New Rep 5/2011

I love regional theater and New Rep is one of the best. I have been to a few of New Rep's…read moreproductions (most recently "1776") and have always enjoyed them. There is really not a bad seat in the house and I have sat everywhere here (my kid does community theater and uses this space as well). The seats are comfy too. It is a small theater but seats about 300+ but have also seen a show in the tiny black block downstairs (another space I love and very intimate). The location cannot be beat with tons of parking and a few dining options in various price ranges for pre- or post-dining and/or drinking. The Mosesian space is lovely and the New Rep is a wonderful theater experience without having to trek into the city.

I have only been to 1 show here, but will definitely go back. Driving from the Worcester area, I…read moredidn't know what to expect at the theater. The Mosesian theater seems very small & intimate, but holds nearly 350 people. The theater was very clean & modern, like a modern movie theater, with a low stage. Everything still seemes new. The seats were roomy & comfortable, with ample leg room. The seats are stadium style, and at a pretty good incline, so no tall people can block your view. Plus you are looking down at the stage. The first row of seats is close to eye level with the performers, as the stage is about 12-18 inches off the ground. Great pics of the inside seating of the theater can be found here: http://www.actorsequity.org/newsmedia/news2006/Mar1.NewRepTheatre.asp There is plenty of free parking in a covered garage adjacent to the building. I have not been to the Black Box theater underneath the Mosesian (holding about 90 people), but am anxious to try it. I saw Amadeus in April 2013 & it was fantastic. Can't wait for their upcoming schedule.

I prefer ArtsRalphWaldo, but this will do, after all, where's Waldo when you need him…read more This is where I came to see Hamlet a while ago, in the Fall on my trip to the B O S, and it was a great experience, especially because the ticket was a gift from a very fancy very lovely girl. I've been inside this theatre on three occasions, but that was the only time I've actually seen a performance in here, and it was remarkable and spectacular. A wonderful venue and not too horribly expensive, and as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside.

When I had the opportunity to check out this theater space (the Main Stage of the New Paramount…read moreCenter) for free through the performance "You Better Sit Down" you bet I jumped on it! I thought it was great when I realized they were renovating this space several years ago. As I entered the lobby, the box office was a line of windows in front of me, but I noticed folks checking tickets by the stairs to my right. Turn out everyone is funneled through the stairs even if our seats were the prime spots in the Orchestra section. First thing I noticed were the painted walls. They were cool, and a more modern touch than the elaborate engravings of many of the other theatres in the area. It also is a cozier theatre. But there were enough room between seats that I didn't have to stand just to allow other row-mates to pass by me. My seat neighbors told me that the balcony is terrible for hearing - I believe it since even from where I sat in the third row slightly off center, I had a little trouble hearing the actor furthest from me. Fix the sound system, and they would earn my 4th (fan) star easy. *** 9/2013 *** Attended Potted Potter - The Unauthorized Harry Experience, a Parody by Dan and Jeff - and I had a good time. Flashing my ticket got me to the appropriate stage, the seat was roomy enough, the stage close enough, the show entertaining enough. And the game of quidditch at the very end got the heart pumping.
