Me and my husband were coming home from an ultrasound appointment where I found out I was miscarrying our child. If you know anything about that you know the physical and emotional reactions of that are brutal. We stopped at this gas station at 6:30 on 4-3-26 and asked the worker to use the restroom where they pointed at the bathroom, we opened the bathroom door to find that it was a family restroom (one big bathroom, no stalls). We went because I had to change my pad that I was currently bleeding through and to take a break from our long drive. Once we realized it was one big bathroom we decided to go in together since it would be nice to have him help me as I was in immense pain. Within 1 minute of being in the restroom while I was taking care of myself the worker came aggressively pounding on the restroom door yelling at us that it was one person at a time and he is not allowed in with me, which is totally fine to be honest. It was the way they went about it, pounding on the door after 1 minute and yelling throughout the entire packed gas station. I was already distraught and that was one of the most embarrassing things we had been through, they acted like we were teenagers who had been in the stall for 30 minutes. I was already going through the worst pain and to be embarrassed like that was the worst thing. There was no sign nor were we informed that was wrong, as it was a family bathroom we assumed it would be fine as long as we were fast which as I already said we had only been in there one minute. This worker is super rude and made me cry all the way back home after learning the worst news of my life. read more

Most expensive gas in carlsbad. Service is lackluster for the prices. Don't try to get propane here. They are understaffed and won't leave the store unattended so they only fill if two employees working. With break and lunch schedules it results in VERY limited availability and they don't care. read more

Had the displeasure of dealing with an incompetent cashier name Andreina today. Made a stop for some chips and gas. I paid for my chips and I asked the cashier for my receipt and she walked away and said "it's right there." Yeah it's over the counter where you handle the cashier. She basically made me reach over the counter for my damn receipt. It's the cashier's job to give the customer the receipt in hand. Lack of decency and respect. After that encounter I was infuriated over her stupidity and decided not to purchase any gas from this place. No I do not recommend Do Not! stop here for any snacks or gas. Have been frequenting this gas station for to stop and use the restroom and fill up my work truck, Keep in mind that with 5 days a week, at $70-120 of gas, that's $1800 worth of gas each month. They used to have two open bathrooms, and they were well maintained, then they shut down one of them, and put in hand dryers, and today they locked both for "paying customers" I'm here 15 to 20 times a month and half the staff can't remember . Yes, I'm giving this gas station 5 stars. Why? First and foremost it's clean! The gas station itself is spacious and clean. Price is comparable to others, some times even better. Convenient location, easy in and out to the 495 off Cannon. Convenient store has great selection of snacks, coffee, hats, sunglasses... Dont get me wrong, I compared this with it's like kind, and this one clearly stands out! Coffee: self serve-typical of gas station, they used Seattle s best and switch over to Arcadia which still has the same decent taste, it's actually better than decent. It's good. On top of the regular little bags of sugar, they have several different types of flavored syrup. How many gas stations do you know do that? Donuts are also good. They are by no means the foodie kind so don't come in expecting top notch service or such thing. Service is nothing special, just the typical gas station kind, well maybe a tad better. The owner/manager was unreasonably rude about me using his restroom, knocking loudly and kicking me out of it. I can now understand that there is one designated for staff and one designated for customers, however there is no signage and his behavior was ridiculous enough for me to spend the time to write this review. Bottom Line: Convenient to I-5 Southbound with a great store but pricier than usual gas. I love Westmart! I'm not sure this would be my go to stop for gas but for convenience items, definitely! The store is clean, organized, attractive and well staffed. They have a Coca-cola soda fountain and nice bathrooms. I enjoyed my experience of purchasing a much needed tube of toothpaste and iPhone charger so much that I went back the next days for a drink and gas. West gas station off Cannon Rd. Exit has always been our favorite place to fill up. We loved the old West Steakhouse, and the Bistro and even had friends stay at the hotel. We live nearby and have shopped around for the best prices. Their gas prices are always the lowest along the freeway in south Carlsbad and Encinitas. But I'm leaving this review today for the excellent service we received from a gentleman named Luis. He was basically camped out at the propane station. Customer after customer and I felt bad pulling up with my 6 tanks! He smiled and took great care of me like it was no big deal. Hard work on the ground moving, lifting and filling these tanks. When I was done, he finally got to get up off the ground and walk back to the store. But just then an RV pulls up. He smiled and laughed and went back to help that guy as well. I hope he didn't spend the rest of the day there. Haha! Small things but his attitude and customer service is commendable. I'm surprised that this place only has 3 stars. I've had great service from the ladies inside as well. Always friendly. Usually people leave reviews only when they are upset. This gas station deserves more than 5 stars, aside from its very convenient location, it's clean. The bathrooms themselves are the cleanest compared to any other gas station around. There's a variety of snacks and drinks at a fair price. There is also plenty of pumps so you don't have to worry about waiting for an available pump, just drive in and fill up. read more

I'm a former customer for years. Today, I went inside to buy Lotto tickets while pumping gas, which is something I've done for years. When I came outside a couple of concerned customers asked me if it was my car. There were two sprays of gasoline shooting out all over the place as the gas had not shut off automatically. When I spoke with the manager, who claimed to be the owner (Asmish Bansal 760-431-7100), he said it was my fault. He said that I'm not supposed to leave while pumping gas and claimed it said so on the pump. It did not say this on the pump. Asmish was very rude to me and I will never go back. Today is July 19th 2022, and I received an email from my bank 45 min after leaving the gas station (and putting about $60 worth of gas in), stating that my card was declined $150 at Westmart in Carlsbad 4990 Avenida Encinas 92008. I called my bank immediately and they said someone put in the wrong Pin #, and that there is most likely a Skimmer attached to the card slot of the pump I used. Weird setup as it's part of the West company (West Steakhouse and West Bistro) ??? I use to frequent this station a lot as it was on my way home from my beach runs. Now that I don't get to the beach as often nowadays, i rarely come here. This station has never been packed. It's clean, safe and has lots of pumps. They have a wide variety of healthy snacks in addition to the usual candy bars and soft drinks. Price: The price is average for a gas station in the area. Decor: I am not sure exactly what it is about this place, but I feel kinda special when I go here. I think because it is a nice place, it's well lit and the ground is covered with pavers instead of just asphalt. It just really doesn't feel like a gas station at all. Location: West Mart is located just west of the 5 Freeway at the Cannon Exit. It is located next to the West Cafe and West Steakhouse which I have heard are very good, but have yet to visit. I have dined at West Steakhouse and Bistro West many times, and West Mart is one of my go-to gas stations in the area. I think the West Mart convenience store is the best around - they have everything I need, the place feels clean, welcoming and safe, and the employees are always really nice. I also love the egg salad sandwiches on wheat in the sandwich case. I get my lottery tix here too. I also like the tv's feature weather and news while I fill up. Wait a second, am I really reviewing a gas station? I agree with one of the prior reviewers - reviewing a gas station feels weird, but I do think West Mart is the best around. When West Mart first opened, they priced their gasoline very low relative to the competition. In my experience, the Shell station one block South seems to have consistently better pricing. I come to West Mart now for the C-store and when I'm about to head North on the 5, but I watch the pricing and West Mart is free to win back my "everyday" gas business - all they have to do is be at or closer to the lowest price! read more

I don't typically review gas stations. After all, they're gas stations and there typically isn't much variance. This one gets a shout out for several reasons. Location is very convenient to I-5. The access the the station itself is easy and the lot is larger than most of the ultra tight commercial real estate you find in SoCal. If you're driving a larger vehicle, towing or in an RV there is ample space for maneuvering.The store has a nice diversity of snacks and even some healthy stuff. The bathroom is clean and has been attended to. This may sound basic but it's actually uncommon as many who travel have probably noticed. There's a propane filling area that is also readily accessible. The only drawback is that staffing often doesn't allow anyone to service propane needs. I had to come three times and actually called prior to coming to make sure someone would be able to accommodate me for a refill. I'll pull back one star for that but otherwise this station is highly recommended. read more

I stopped here on my way out of town I bought a water the price said 3.09 at the register I ended up paying 3.59 I let her know that the price of the water was 3.09 I was just curious on how it went up if crv is only .10 and there's no tax. She said that's just the price. Lol So I said no that's not right she said it was. But didn't want to come behind the register and look at the actual price so I went and ripped the price off of the display so she could see. Well that pissed Silvia off !!
