There are 2 things I go to a Gas Station for: 1. Gas - Westmart is pretty good at providing this. 2. Clean my windows - Westmart is awful at this. Half the window washing buckets are missing squeegees and the window washing buckets usually have little to no water in them. Westmart management: please take this note as positive criticism and fix this recurring issue. I will be glad to remove this negative post once this reasonably fair request is fixed. read more

This place is like BIZARRO WORLD. On the outside we're talking like this well kept solid brick building. The FORT KNOX of gas stations. All clean and pretty too! Very nice west Mart. You walk in to buy a Mountain Due and quickly realize they blew the budget on the outside - BIG TIME. It was all dirty, unorganized, flickering lights, and the gas attendant lady was rocking like the "home plumber" look while putting away boxes cigarettes. It was no bueno. It felt like a good place to conduct an interrogation. Especially if you also wanted Bugles and soda - AND WHO WOULDN'T BECAUSE BUGLES RULE! Plus side - plenty of pumps, typically not crowded, and located close to freeway and beach access. I give this West Mart 7 "Bugles eating gas station ass crack house plumbers" outta 10. read more

I come here pretty often before work because of the cleanliness even though it's a bit out of the way. The gas prices are surprisingly pretty low, being directly off the freeway you wouldn't expect that. There are a lot of pumps and rarely a long wait. The girls that work here are sweet always and the bathrooms are extremely clean which is a huge plus. It's kind of like an ABC store which makes sense since it's next to the West Inn. read more

Stopped here on my commute home to make an emergency restroom stop. Upon entering I come to find one of the two bathrooms not in service (understandable, things happen) and waited on another customer to use the other. Once I had been inside for only 5 minutes a woman began knocking on the door repeatedly and very rudely told me I needed to get out because I had been in for too long. I was having stomach issues and needed a few more minutes, but she refused to let up and continued to loudly announce to the whole store that I was taking too long and needed to get out because another customer was waiting. She continued doing this in a loud voice and when I was finished I went to speak to her to tell her that I didn't appreciate her shouting at me in a tone for the whole store to hear. She denied yelling and spoke to me in a very rude way, while still in front of other customers. Normally when I make such a stop I purchase a snack or drink in order to help the business, but definitely not after being treated like that. What an incredible lack of professionalism and tact from your employee. I'm very disappointed and will not stop here for anything again. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone and suggest driving the extra 5 or 10 minutes up the road if you need gas or snacks. Absolutely not worth dealing with such a rude employee. read more

I came here​ last week on a Monday​. A wonderful young lady with amazing customer service assisted me. I will always remember her name. Carina. She was polite, well mannered, and gave excellent​ customer service.( i can say that with working 6+ years in Customer Service myself.) Now I​ come on​ Friday​ expecting to see her here. No, I​ get Karly or Karlee. quite the opposite​! she was just sitting around rolling her eyes and giving me attitude. Never coming back here again if this is what the management​ has hired. This is a country of hard-working​ people. Not slacking teenagers who barely​ have their feet in the real world. I hope this gets seen and Management gets things change. Shame. read more

West Mart is a nice little gas station with a convenience store that does not sell any beer. The prices are reasonable and the place is very clean. They also have some beach needs for those of you staying at West Inn. The staff was always friendly and the coffee was hot every morning. read more

This place gets 2 stars for its convenient location, but the staff makes me wish I could give it zero stars. Yesterday (Sun, 5/29/16) I arrived at 5:30 pm to fill our propane tank for a BBQ. The girl working the register was so lazy and rude, I just couldn't believe it. When I told her I was there to fill the tank she just said "Well, we don't fill those after 6 and I'm the only one here." Her tone made it seem like she didn't want to fill the tank but since it was still 30 mins before 6, I thought she could still fill it, based on what she had just told me. So I said "Ok great, here's the tank." She went on to say "Well no, I can't do it. I'm the only one here." No apology or offer to direct me elsewhere--just an entitled attitude with no intention to help anyone. I went down the street to the 7-11 off Faraday Avenue instead. Will not be returning to this place, even though I live right down the street. read more

I drive all over California and this is the nicest gas station anywhere I've seen. Super Clean. Nice blue thick paper towels are always stocked. Low fuel prices. Nice employees. Squeegees are regularly replaced with new ones. Thank you Westmart! And the restaurant next door, West Steakhouse, is superb! read more

If I could give -15 stars, I would. That wouldn't even come close to how horrific the experience I had at this awful place last night. I had the unfortunate luck of breaking down on the side of the 5 freeway at 11:30pm. After being on hold over 20 minutes with AAA, I decided to walk down the onramp at Cannon to the nearest gas station for help. Unfortunately, this was the place I encountered. It was just past midnight, and all the lights were on, so thought luck was on my side - DEAD WRONG!!! I got to the door, and a female worker opened the door and blurted "we're closed". I told her that AAA was not answering and I was broken down on the freeway and needed help. She said, "yeah, everything's off and shut down, so can't help you". I was upset, crying, and scared out of my mind, and asked if she was kidding, there's nothing you can do to help, and she got in my face and said "you need to get the f*** out of here, and don't you dare come back". I was floored - leaving a stranded female motorist after midnight with no help. I told her that if something happened, it would be on her, and she replied with: "I hope something really bad happens to you tonight" Guess customer service, or just being a human being, is not a top priority at this place, and would warn anyone unforutnate enough to have to deal with this horrible person!!! You couldn't offer to say, please use our phone, we'll wait with you for a tow truck - something, anything?!? Nope, cuss someone out, throw them out, and wish physical harm on you was her solution, with another male employee just standing there watching and listening ... WOW!!! You better believe I'm going to corporate with this complaint ... to have soemone so callous and rude is down right despicable, and no one should have to tollerate that type of behavior - EVER!!! I remembered there was a gas station on Palomar Airport Road, "Carlsbad By The Sea" on the corner near the hotel and TGIFriday's, and had to walk 2 miles down Car Country in the dark, as the entire buisness park was closed. I encountered a security guard who was almost off his shift at one of the dealerships, and offered to help. I made it to the gas station, and the attendant was SO nice and helpful, offering whatever I needed to get help. The security guard came in just after that, and drove me back to my car and helped get me back on the road. THAT is what you call above and beyond the call of duty, AMAZING customer service, and just being decent human beings - thank you to both my wonderful guardian angels :) If given the choice, drive the extra couple miles to Carlsbad By The Sea gas station on Palomar Airport Road, katty corner from TGIFriday's - BEWARE of this place!!! read more

Guess this place is hit or miss when it comes to service. Fortunately, I stopped by on one of their good days on my way down to see Mom in SD. This store hits every check mark in the definition of a "convenience store." It's just off the freeway, the clerks were courteous if not especially thrilled by the prospect of a day behind a counter, they offer snacks, coffee (which lent a good kick I really needed to keep plowing down I-5), plenty of parking, no crowds and clean restrooms that don't require a key to use. The place looks well-tended and I'd feel safe visiting night or day. There's nothing show-stopping here but I felt it deserved another positive review. read more

Ok, my wife gives me crap for raving about this gas station... The prices are very good, best around. Plenty of pumps, never a line. All this on a gas station with pavers, and beautiful landscaping. The bathrooms are huge and CLEAN. The store has normal gas station grub, but also has great beach gear... Coal for the BBQ, Frisbees and sand toys for the kids, cute sun hats for the wife, and a nice selection of beer for Dad. the service has always been great... I live in the Terrramar community and i stop for gas here often.I dont text or use my phone while i drive so often when i stop for gas i check my messages so long as it is not busy. being that i am self employed its important to get back with clients.As i sat reading my messages an employee approached my vehicle and asked me to roll down my window so i did.She asked if i was ok because she said this is a gas station and its weird that your not getting gas.I explained why (not that i should have to )and she said again "its just weird".Now im irritated so i go pay for my gas still in disbelief at how rude this attendant is and she says again "its just weird".Whats weird is that you approached my vehicle and made a rude and stupid comment.Not recommended!!!!! read more

Up to this point this has been my favorite place to purchase fuel. The station is always clean an upscale. Yesterday however turn my opinion for the worst. I went into the minimart to purchase two sandwiches and drinks. There was a advertisement posted on the refrigerator door for a special, "two lemonades for $3.00". I wanted to purchase two but there was only one bottle left in the refrigerator so I asked a young female attendant if there was another. She said that they only had that one left. I then picked the remaining bottle of lemonade and another drink and paid for the items. Just after I paid I asked the attended if she honored the special price for the one lemonade at $1.50. She handed me the receipt which said the charge was $2.29 for the one bottle of lemonade. I the asked her why she did't honor the advertised price charging me $1.50. With a look of bitter disdain she responded saying, "that is the price. Sorry have a nice day". Very rude! What every happen to common courtesy, treating long term good paying customer with a little dignity much less honoring a posted advertised price. read more

Exceeds expectations of a convenience store!! I initially shopped at Westmart because it was a 5 min or less bike ride from my house, but now that I'm driving, I think I go there more! Hands down the employees are my favorite and never make me feel rushed while I look at the ever-changing array of really, really cute rings and bracelets that I've gotten as gifts for friends and family. I go there every other day or so to get some 27's and maybe a coffee or tea. Well lit at night and always very clean, inside and outside. Lots of gas pumps too and also the most parking I've ever seen a gas station/shop have if you just need to run in for something, or look up directions on your phone, etc. Other things I have purchased there that I didn't expect to find - stickybumps surfboard wax (all different temp levels, base coat too!) - fresh flowers grown in carlsbad - all types of chargers, aux cords, car adapters All reasonably priced too! I give my favorite gas station and mart two stars for one reason only; The entire West community is about excellence and good energy, and for this reason I frequent there often and send everyone I know there to enjoy all they have to offer. Yet every time I walk into their Mart at the gas station CNN is on the TV at full volume. This is the opposite of everything this mini-community represents. walking in and hearing negative news blasting all the time makes no sense to me. Some people are on holiday some people are on a staycation some people are just getting away for the evening some people are just locals and most of us here in Carlsbad and the formerare not interested in a barrage of negative volume news! Play something chill play something fun be consistent this makes no sense. The worst part is your staff who are young must listen to this negative news all day long and it breaks my heart. read more

Used to frequent this place on a regular basis, fair gas prices clean restrooms. I thought this place is nice But the cashiers were Talking it up while I had to wait for them to finish before they served me. The pregnant one was saying something to her coworker in Spanish. When she was done talking she just stared like what am I doing bothering them. I paid for my gas and went to my News Van to get my gas. No gas dispenses so I walk back inside (it's hot and I'm getting frustrated). When I went inside the two just stared. I explained that I am not getting my fuel. She started to tell me I told her a different number than where I was as if it was my fault calling me a liar. I asked for my money back, and left feeling insulted for wasting my time going there. This place was never like this and when we have news stories to report in (yes I am a reporter) in north county coastal this was our stop. Never again.
