Debris was floating in the wine
Jake E.

This place is horrifying, you walk and and are greeted by old Halloween decorations and tons of dust. Then you walk through a maze in the basement to the entrance were I greeted with unmasked employees it is clear that they do not follow any covid protocols there and on top of that I would not feel safe consuming any of their products. In addition the wine out had debris in it and based on how all their wines were left out open they did not look safe for consumption do yourself a favor and stay away

I am a huge fan of this winery. While the winery itself isn't much to look at, the wine is incredible. There isn't one type of wine out of the 20 or so varieties that George makes that I don't enjoy. My personal favorites are the Chambaurcin, Cabernet Franc, and Snow Bear. If you get a chance, stop in and try a few samples, you'll most likely want to take a few bottles home with you. And if you don't think you enjoy wine, just try a few varieties at West Hanover and believe me you'll be converted.

Sorry, but this was really bad. The wine was unpalatable, tasted like chemicals. The walk into the tasting room was through a smelly garage.

The owner did the tasting and was very informative! Some good wines are made there. It is refreshing break from Hershey Park.

Avoid at all cost! Owner is so rude to his newest employee, and worst of all.. the wines are disgusting! So unclean and not worth the $4!

I've been to Spring Gate a couple of times for a few drinks, a little music, and some quality…read morepeople-watching. So far, I haven't been there during warm weather, but I can only imagine that it gets to be even more interesting as the weather warms, summer attire replaces heavier cold weather garb. The place is huge -- something like a campus with several different bars and seating areas instead of lecture halls, much of which is outdoors -- so I'm very interested to see what the warmer seasons hold as the cold weather adjustments are retired until Fall. Service is generally quick and friendly, though it's all walk-up, so make sure to consider that when you choose your footwear for a visit -- I've seen some interesting and awkward challenges with heels. I think the only detractor to my visits is that, not being a wine person due to an allergy, they don't have a lot of options otherwise. I think there's an opportunity to partner with a local brewery to expand their inventory a bit. I'll definitely return from time to time because the combination of music and wine makes for some wonderful entertainment!

I liked how welcoming the hosts were and how Spring Gate offers something for everyone -  beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. They had a few food trucks on site, live music, and a few board games as well. We definitely plan to be back!
