He actually said "oh, you'll feel better after surgery!" - I told him not to sign the surgery consent until they addressed his pain, they finally called in a few days of Tylenol 3s which made no sense to me as he was already taking extra strength Tylenol without relief. I get that there's an opioid problem, but when you're in tears and cannot walk from a massive hole in your leg, then you get surgery to have a wound vac installed, don't you think that warrants SOMETHING? Of course the Tylenol 3s didn't provide any relief, we went through several sleepless nights, at his follow up 3 days later, still complained of terrible pain but was told there was nothing they could do. The hole in his leg looks like a shark took a bite out of it and there's a machine attached constantly applying pressure! The hole measures 8cmx6cmx6cm - NOT SMALL!! Again, competent doctor but very impatient and dismissive, cuts you off, horrible bedside manner. He's at least 75 years old (doesn't look it from all the plastic surgery he's gotten), and I really think when you start to be so jaded you treat your patients like that, it's time to retire.

But after my tall, black, competitive gymnast daughter's 9 year old check up we decided to go to a different pediatric practice. First, they didn't offer our prepubescent daughter a doctor to match her gender - and for transparency, we forgot to ask. That was our bad, and hadn't mattered previously. But prepubescence changes things. Second, my child is the height of your average 12 year old and has more muscle mass than kids her age due to the 15 hours a week of trampoline and tumbling training. This puts her BMI, that archaic methodology based around norms for middle aged white men, higher than it might be for an average 9 year old. So the idea that they'd use BMI on a child athlete is already a bit odd (for the record it doesn't work for adult body builders either), but to make matters worse they used her BMI as a reason to tell her that she's overweight and needs to watch what she eats. That should be a conversation that begins and ends with the parents of a 9 year old, as we still dictate the vast majority of our child's diet. But to do that to a girl child, knowing full well the harsh physical expectations put on girls and woman, is a deal breaker. I cannot justifiably send my kid to a pediatric practice that will require a therapist visit after. And it also seems weird that they do not take body variation into account, shouldn't they? We're not all built the same. I'm writing this review, a year later, in the hopes that other families don't experience something similar.

Baby's head straightened out by age 2. Second time I called him for my daughter. She was sent home from school with pink eye. Instead of forcing me to book and appointment and bring her in - he sent a prescription to the pharmacy near my house and told me to call back if it didn't look ok within x days. Then there was the time in the beginning of the pandemic. Literally March 17. My daughter came gently walking downstairs screaming in agonizing pain. I put her to sleep thinking once she wakes up from her nap, if still in pain, I'll call the doctor. Yup. She was in pain. I called Dr Sesala at about 5 PM and he told me to get her in right away and that he would wait for me. Yup. The doctor that just wrote me a prescription when she had pink eye told me to get my butt over there ASAP. We got there, he tried to pop her elbow back into her socket and wasn't sure if he was successful so we tried finding a place to take a "safe" X-ray. At that point, he looked as scared as I felt. Then my husband came in and gave her a high 5 with said broken arm. He gleefully told me to go home and stay safe. (Yes, practice had masks, gloves on and everything). They fitted me for orthotics and I was scheduled to return a few weeks later. 1) it's impossible to reach them on the phone. Every time I needed to change an appointment, I traveled almost an hour to do it in person. 2) the doctor recommended a specific shoe for my issue and explained which size to buy. She didn't mention that the orthotics would require an even bigger size, and when I went to my follow up, of course they didn't fit. 3) I put the orthotics on and explained that they were painful. She told me I'd get used to it. When I went back a month later and was still in excruciating pain, she admitted that the orthotics were designed for someone twice my weight and "Oops! Sorry I missed that!" By then I had lost faith in them. They started out great but got progressively worse. Back still hurts. ​

She most likely saved my son from needing his foot to be amputated. More recently, I called the office @8PM expecting to leave a voicemail. Instead, Dr. Lebron picked up the phone herself, and facetimed me as soon as she heard the issue. Her demeanor truly sets her apart; while I never want to call her, I am always relieved after speaking with Dr. Lebron.

Dr. Lebron was always quick to send us to another specialist causing these first-time parents a lot of anxiety. When we thought he was having a flat head as a baby, she sent us to a helmet specialist because it might affect our son's "facial asymmetry". My wife took him to North Jersey only to be told to wait it out and come back if the head does not improve. It did improve. When our son had some level of speech delay, she sent us to an Early Intervention and Developmentalist. She said she was not going to perform a diagnosis but suspects it could be autism so she made a prescription to be seen by the specialists. Due to the long wait with in-network providers, we went straight to out-of-network practitioners to have our son evaluated. The occupational therapist and speech therapist performed a 1 1/2 hour comprehensive evaluation and he was interacting pretty well, although we had to address the speech part. At the next late afternoon check-up with Dr. Lebron, she used the word "not normal" when he was not making eye contact. Take note, she was seeing her for 3 minutes without being playful. It was a long wait before he could see her and the boy was already cranky. She was quick to speculate that something was wrong with our kid. We eventually found a developmentalist and he tested negative after a comprehensive evaluation. Bottom line, if there was a cause of concern, perhaps she should be mindful of communicating with the parents. I understand the need to cover all bases but it wouldn't hurt to brush up on some bedside manners as a doctor. It would be best not to cause any unnecessary panic to the parents. Our son has caught up with his developmental milestones and we have been free from any unnecessary worries after transferring him to another practice. We pulled him out after he turned 2.
