One of my children has sensory needs and the structure and amazing teachers really helped her work through a lot of hurdles. She graduated with confidence personally and educationally for the next steps ahead. My other child loves being a part of the group and his favorite time of day is "circle time" where the children explore topics such as the sound of the week building on reading skills and socially sharing about different items from their homes. It's a pretty special place and we would highly recommend. For an extended morning, lunch bunch is a great way to make the session 1 hour longer and the kids get to eat together and play inside/outside after school.

Our daughter has started sounding out words before starting kindergarten thanks to Miss Ella and Hana's work with her and finished the year much more confident than when she walked in. Our children participated in summer session together and thrived with Christi and her staff. We came from a Montessori school in a different city that had outside play before and after and spending the whole session in the classroom is not an issue at all. There's a park outside where people often meet after class and lunch bunch available for and extended hour. Plenty of social emotional learning happens in the classroom through shared activities. If you're looking for a real preschool experience for your child we would recommend Edmonds Montessori in a heartbeat.

School Year 2024/2025…read more Our journey with education has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but thankfully, we've found our perfect fit at The Bloom Academy! My son had an amazing preschool experience at a Montessori school, and was initially hopeful that kindergarten would continue on that trajectory. Unfortunately, after trying a private christian school for kindergarten, I realized it wasn't the right fit and had to pull him out after just 6 weeks. He then went into public school for kindergarten, which was a very disappointing experience. This fall, I started him in another private christian school for first grade, but after just 4 weeks, it was clear it wasn't working out either. I was feeling very lost until a friend recommended Bloom, and it truly felt like God was answering my prayers. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we'd found our school home. The smaller classroom sizes and strong sense of community at The Bloom Academy are exactly what my son needed. He thrives in a more intimate setting (hugs welcomed), where teachers can focus on his unique needs and guide his learning. The teaching style is exactly what we were looking for it's focused on fostering a love of learning, building character, and encouraging personal growth, not just pushing ahead academically. Unlike other private schools that seemed more concerned with being a year ahead academically, Bloom has helped me realize that the overall learning experience is what truly matters. What really stands out to me is the individualized education plan for each child. This is something I did not find in any other private school and has been such a relief for me as a parent. It's clear that the team at Bloom is dedicated to meeting my son where he is and supporting him in every way possible. My son and I are so grateful to have found Bloom Academy it's been a true blessing, and we couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education my son is receiving. Thank you, Bloom Academy, for giving our family the school experience we've been longing for!

Our son attends both indoor and outdoor preschool here and the changes in him in the 5 months he's been at Bloom have been nothing short of profound. Miriam and Karen (who I believe are the owners and managers) are both such amazing and inspiring women who genuinely love children and want to see them flourish. Our daughter goes to a great private school in the area that has a reputable preschool program and we chose Bloom over them for several reasons. There hasn't been a day that goes by that we regret our decision, as a matter of fact I wish they taught older students so we could move our daughter here too! (Wishful thinking, I know.) We are particularly fond of 3 out of 4 of his teachers who have been so patient and positive in his life. His teachers are warm, loving, creative and encouraging. He's never enjoyed teachers the way he does here. The teachers have a joy here that I haven't seen in any other preschool/daycare setting. And lastly, the community of kids and parents that surround our son have been so wonderful and warm. People from all different walks of life with the common goals of the best environment for their little ones. Our family feels safe here, we also feel very loved. We are so thankful we chose Bloom!

The teachers are very talented and the small class sizes allow students to get the individualized attention they need to progress from their personal starting point. We consistently get feedback from their current teachers on our girls' love of learning and their intellectual curiosity. While the Montessori approach has a big impact on this, the way in which the OMV teachers and staff use this approach with the kids is the real reason for this. We started our oldest daughter at another Montessori school in the Edmonds area. We did not know what good Montessori education looked like until we arrived at OMV out of frustration with the level of teaching and progression at the other school. OMV gave our daughter the attention and help she needed to progress her abilities, and she entered 1st grade with a solid foundation that continues to serve her well. The other significant advantage of OVM is the enrichment they do with the kids. They have a naturalist that comes each week to work with the kids. My daughters loved this time, so much so that they have maintained a connection with this outdoor school and continue to do camps and classes with them. They also get instruction in a foreign language (Chinese), yoga, and music. It is hard to find another school in the area that has such a well rounded curriculum for little kids. I highly recommend Olympic View Montessori!

She's transitioning to the one's room now and that has been a smooth and easy process so far. The staff are friendly, caring, and treat the kids like their own. It's definitely a little chaotic at times with so many kids running around, but I like knowing that it means that kids get to be, well, kids. The location can't be beat right in downtown Edmonds, and there's a huge play area outside for the kids to run around. We really love the staff and if/when we have another baby, we won't hesitate to have them here too. We looked at other daycare's in the area (got on every list in town early in our pregnancy since that's how it goes these days), and for the price and care we get, Main Street made the most sense for us, and we're really happy with our choice. As an added bonus, this daycare is in the Anderson Center in downtown Edmonds, so when the kids are old enough, they can take classes (soccer, dance, martial arts, etc.) and the instructors come get them from class and then return them a couple hours later, so there's no additional transportation needed from parents or a school bus. I know everyone's experience is different, but we've really enjoyed MSK and can't say enough good things about them!

The school can do a better job supporting their staff and could benefit from a few upgrades, not just for the kids, but also for the faculty. One thing to also note, and something that is completely out of the control of the teachers; there have been some issues with billing and invoicing that has been a known problem over several years. It would be recommended to monitor your payments. Over billing has been challenging and the finance team has been unable to process refunds or correct the billing cycles properly. The fours stars is solely based on the teachers. They would have five if the owner and finance team re-invested in this facility, staff, and a better finance team.

Here at the Debbie Leraas Children's Center our philosophy is that children learn best through play. We have highly educated and experienced staff who use research-based practices to facilitate all types of play inside and outside of the classroom. We currently provide half day Preschool & Pre-k, full day Preschool and Pre-K as well as before and after school care for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade during the School Year and an incredible summer camp for Preschool, Pre-K and School-age in the summer months. We understand how important outdoor explorative play is to the health and development of children, that is why we provide our children with an extraordinary outdoor play area just steps outside of the classroom doors that includes an interactive water feature, a large sandpit surrounded in rustic wooden tree stumps, a climbing tree, trails through a fortress of greenery and native plants, a play structure, and completed with a beautiful brick pathway within the grassy play area. For our preschool and Pre-K classes we provide a twice-weekly chapel time, Spanish immersion learning, and for all members we provide numerous family events throughout the year. We are more than just a community, we are a family of Individuals that want nothing but the best care and education for our children.
