We've had a positive experience with World Kids. My son started attending when he was four, and…read moredaughter two and a half. They've been there for about half a year now. The Mandarin and Spanish immersion program is a nice idea. While the staff is a bit short, the kids are mostly exposed to Spanish, and I've noticed my children picking up parts of the language. They can follow instructions in Spanish, which is great. The director is friendly and clearly loves her work. The teachers are doing their best to create a supportive environment, and my kids have improved their language and social skills since starting. The cozy atmosphere and outdoor playtime twice a day are definite highlights. I also appreciate the flexible pickup and drop-off times, which is helpful for working parents. One area for improvement is the app used for sharing information with parents. I think consistency in accuracy in documenting updates could be better. Overall, I recommend World Kids for those looking for a nurturing preschool environment.

The teachers genuinely get so energized by being around kids and have helped our child with development and transitioning to the toddler classroom along the way. We are extra thankful for all the current and past teachers: Alejandra, Wang Laoshi, Jessica, Hellen, and Amy. They are truly rockstars at their job and we appreciate them greatly.

It had been nearly 10 years since I had spoken or studied French regularly, and I wanted to find someone who could help me brush up on my French. Geneviève was a great match to what I was looking for in a teacher--she is warm, easygoing, and patient. She tailored our lessons to my language level--I am an advanced speaker so our weekly meetings (via Zoom due to the pandemic) consisted of friendly chats like two friends catching up over coffee, but entirely in French. However, when I wanted more help with the usage of prepositions, Geneviève had exercises readily available. Additionally, she would also assign me a topic to write about that we would discuss the following week, and she was great at choosing subjects that interested me as well as pushed me to use different vocabulary, verb tenses/moods, varied sentence structures, etc. After a few months working with Geneviève on a weekly basis, I feel like my language recall and fluency have greatly improved, matching my language proficiency I had attained while living in France. Speaking regularly with a native speaker like Geneviève is the best way to improve your French, whether you're a beginner or advanced speaker, especially if you aren't able to be fully immersed in a French-speaking country.

We are so grateful to have found this daycare/preschool for our 3-year-old son. Since joining, his…read moregrowth has been amazing -- especially in language development. He is now confidently speaking both Chinese and English, which has been incredible for our family to see. Another thing we truly appreciate is the food. The meals are freshly prepared, healthy, and organic, which is such a huge difference compared to the canned or processed food from our previous daycare. It gives us great peace of mind knowing he is eating nutritious meals every day. The teachers are also absolutely wonderful. They bring so much creativity and care into the classroom with different crafts, songs, and activities every day. Our son comes home excited and happy, always sharing what he learned or made. It's clear that the teachers genuinely care about the children and create a fun, loving environment for them to grow. Highly recommend this preschool to any parents looking for a caring, engaging, and enriching place for their child!

A few things: - Excellent curriculum. We do not speak Chinese in the home, and all are fluent, our daughter could read Chinese at 2.5! - The food is healthy, fresh and organic. Our kids love it, sometimes they eat so much lunch, they don't want dinner! - The teachers are caring, patient and kind. They really care about the kids, and take great care of them. Lan, the owner, is our 3 year old's favorite person. - They work through behavioral issues in a professional and timely manner, working with you to resolve, while keeping all kids safe. - The afterschool program for our 1st grader is amazing. We both work full-time and they pick her up from school, so we only have one pick up for all 3 at end of day. - For school- aged kids, they run an all day summer program, no rushing about to book 100 different camps! - The cost is the most competitive in a 20 mile radius. We look at pricing elsewhere from time to time, and SLA is always the most affordable by far, and care is still top notch! - When we drop off our kids they run in, and don't want to leave when it's pickup time. That's the best possible scenario with a daycare!

This review is based on a few interactions that I had with Bill recently while I was interested in…read morebecoming his French Student. I ended up not becoming a student of his, because he and I agreed that it was not the best personality fit. So, please keep in mind that I am reviewing Bill from that rather limited experience with him. That being said, I am still giving Bill a 5 star review because I could tell that he takes French tutoring very seriously and that he puts his all into his tutoring sessions. I also thought that Bill was very prompt and professional in his communication with me. I would recommend only reaching out to Bill if you are ready to schedule right away (otherwise he may fill your preferred slot with someone else within 24 - 48 hours!) and also only if you already have an internet speed of 100 mbps or higher. Bill requires this internet speed in order to tutor someone via Zoom calls, because he wants to minimize the chances of tech issues such as freezing and dropped calls. This requirement seems reasonable to me, and it makes sense. My internet speed was 50 mbps when I first reached out to him, and shortly after Bill informed me about his internet speed requirement, I scheduled with my internet provider to come out and change my internet speed to 400 mbps. This was something that I figured was a good idea to get done anyway, even though I was already starting to get the sense that Bill wasn't the best fit for me personality-wise. The first available appointment that my internet provider had for me was one week after I called them. Well before my internet provider came out to change my internet speed to fit Bill's requirement, Bill had already filled the scheduling spot that I'd been interested in with someone else. None of Bill's other open spots in his schedule suited my schedule, and, as I have already mentioned, this was not a good personality fit, so I had a brief, pleasant, professional communication exchange with Bill in this vein, and Bill and I pleasantly wished each other well. Bill referred me to the L'Alliance Francaise for a French tutor, a solid and reasonable recommendation. The reason that I did not feel that it is a good personality fit is that I tend to be more laid-back (although I am very reliable) and Bill to me came across as extremely high-pressure, which I don't like and don't thrive around. I'm very self-motivated, and extremely high-pressure to me seems unnecessary, off-putting, and overboard. However, if you are more the type who either doesn't mind high-pressure personalities and/or needs a kick in the rear to get things done, Bill may be a perfect fit for you. Last note, Bill's schedule is almost completely full so he is in very high demand as a tutor - and he will let you know that! It's nice that Bill is in high demand. I think that how someone handles a bad personality fit speaks volumes about their character, and I thought Bill handled it well. A bientot and enjoy learning this beautiful language, whether it is with Bill or with another great tutor.

When I entered his studio for the first time, it was with great trepidation and doubt, but at the ripe old age of 45, I just couldn't put off approaching my dream of French fluency any longer. To my delight and surprise, Bill had me speaking within 30 minutes. Learning language with him is invigorating and exciting, and unlike any teaching experience I've had before. The lessons go by too quickly, it's such fun, and his firm but kind accuracy and explanations provide one with the sense of being saturated with content of the highest caliber. Can't say enough good things about Bill as a language instructor.

After a loooonnnggg educational hiatus, my dad sat me down about a year and a half ago and said, "I…read moredon't care what you do, but you need to pick a major, and finish it." I chose something Business related because the company I work for would foot the bill for part of it, and, having been a nursing major, and an art history major my first round of college, after doing a few pre-requisite classes at a community college I was back in the University game. Coincidently, as it turned out, I am great at Business, and have settled into my majors very naturally. CWU-Lynnwood offers a great alternative to the expensive cost of the only other local public university (You know, the one with the icky purple and gold colors) Here, for a fraction of the price, I get a quality education from great faculty, and all the support services of the full university in Ellensburg. CWU-Lynnwood has a computer lab and library services, as well as an on-site writing lab for students. In addition to all the services offered by the University, students can partake and participate in any services or events offered by Edmonds Community College as well (since the school is located in it's own building on the Edmonds CC campus) Students can purchase textbooks and even collegiate clothing in the Edmonds CC bookstore. While the majors available for study are some what limited, they do offer some great choices for students. I am currently finishing a double-major in Accounting and Business Administration, while also completing a minor in Economics and a certification program in Supply Chain Management. All that for less than what I'd have paid at the alternative schools available to me. Seems like a savvy business decision to me, so my education is already paying off! And I have no doubt that this combination of education will provide me with a more than adequate future salary in the business world. Other available majors include teaching certification, IT and Law & Justice. CWU-Lynnwood also offers one graduate program, for Accounting majors, which meets the requirements for the fifth year of credits that is required to sit for the CPA exam. The school has clubs and programs in place to help generate a sense of community on campus, and loyalty to the school, with a student leadership program that plans fun events for students on a regular basis. For Accounting majors the student accounting society puts on annual networking socials for students to meet with firms in the area, and the school has staff in place to help students find internships to help them further their education, and professional goals. I could not be happier with my choice of CWU Lynnwood to finish my degrees. I feel my professors care for me, my education, and my professional development, and are more than adequately preparing me for grad school (which I'll start in Fall of 2012) And I've made some wonderful friends in my courses and a few just hanging out in the student lounge area studying. AND the cherry on top: you get a free Snohomish County bus system pass just for being a student. What a deal!

I started my undergrad degree here in January 2007 and will be graduating in June 2008 (I take 15…read morecredits/quarter). Being that I am majoring in Accounting and I work full time, it is really helpful that CWU offers a lot of night classes so I can complete my degree close to home. The tuition is affordable and one can take out student loans if need be. I've only had a couple of instructors that I didn't particulary care for, but overall I think the faculty is excellent. For the location, price and quality of education, I have to give this place 5 starts. Let's face it: Getting into UW's business school is extremely competitive and even if you do, they do not offer night classes. Seattle University has a great reputation, but not good enough to spend 30k a year on tuition, etc.

They set the tone for the supportive atmosphere that allows children to thrive in English and French. NSFS is an excellent choice for any parent looking for a smaller school experience for their child coupled with the opportunity for their child to become bilingual. The French curriculum is more advanced in many ways than the American curriculum, as it starts with full-day school at age 3, thus giving children a long on-ramp to becoming academically focused. The French curriculum also incorporates music and art as fundamental parts of a child's education, not "extras."

Over the past two years, we've witnessed our son thrive linguistically, culturally, and emotionally, all thanks to the exceptional team at NSFS. At the heart of our Petite Section (Prek3) lasy year and Moyenne Section (Prek 4) this year is Madame Claire, whose commitment to her class is truly inspiring. She has not only instilled a love for the French language but have also fostered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures among the children. Alongside Mme Claire stands Daniela, her assistant, whose warmth and dedication to the children's well-being contribute immensely to the nurturing atmosphere of the preschool. For two years weve watched our child thrive and develop through multiple learning strategies. Mmes Claire and Daniela combined efforts create a supportive environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Another thing we absolutely love is the weekly class newsletter, including tons of pictures throughout the week! We love to share these with family and friends. One thing that sets NSFS apart is its dedication to diversity. It's not just about French speakers; it's about embracing francophone speakers from around the world, celebrating the richness of different cultures and backgrounds. There is also a diversity among the student population, from cultural and ethnic backgrounds to racial doversity, to a diversity in family structures. to supporotng LGBTQ students and families, all of which I see celebrated. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that every child feels a sense of belonging and acceptance. Moreover, we appreciate NSFS's holistic approach to education, which prioritizes both academic and emotional development. The emphasis on nurturing the whole child ensures that each student not only excels academically but also grows into confident, compassionate individuals. Students are not punished or sent away when they act out but are brought in. NSFS also has a lot of amazing opportunities for family involvement and volunteering. From Special Friends Day to Kermesse, from Bingo Night to a Virtual Family Day, we feel very connected to the school and what's happening there. Another thing we love is that NSFS goes above and beyond in caring for each family individually. When we experienced a loss in the family, the school showed remarkable flexibility and support, accommodating our needs during a challenging time. Additionally, when we faced logistical hurdles mid-year, they worked tirelessly to ensure our smooth return, exemplifying their dedication to every family's well-being. Of course none of this would be possible without Aurélie Declerck, the head of Admissions, Marie-Alice Chapeau, the Operations Manager, Jennifer Annable, the Head of School, and the rest of the incredible administrative staff. It really does feel like an extended family. In conclusion, NSFS is more than just a school; it's a haven for holistic development, where children flourish academically, culturally, and emotionally. We are grateful for the positive impact it has had on our son's life and wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking a nurturing French immersion experience.
