It was a steep learning curve for myself, being anxious entrusting my treasure and heart to complete strangers, but through transparent communication and above and beyond efforts from the individuals above, trust and bonds were quickly built. The teachers are always focused on interacting with the children at their level and are so engaged during every moment of everyday. Both teachers put in so much time and effort, not only for the children, but also the classroom environment, so that the children truly get the best experience possible!! The consistency of attendance with the teachers are also outstanding and rare for the field!! From the very beginning, the environment has felt warm, welcoming, and supportive. The teachers and admin staff are so kind and caring, and it's clear they truly love what they do. They always take a few minutes to chat during drop-off and pick-up, which makes me feel connected and reassured about how my little one's day is going. Within a couple weeks of starting at the school, she was already singing Mandarin songs when she had not been speaking any Mandarin at home. Compared to other preschools I have experienced, what I have heard from other parents at different schools, WIS provides a lot more for your money. I have been very grateful that they provide lunch for the children, along with snacks. All I need to bring for her is a cup and water bottle and they provide the rest. There has been complaints about all the rules, but I didn't mind since they were easy for me to follow - and the routine did not take long to get used to. I also appreciated that having the indoor shoes allowed the floors to be much cleaner. The tuition chart can be confusing at first, but no other school allows you to pay a prorated tuition when you go on vacation (even with the additional fee for schedule changes, we have saved a lot of money this way), nor do other schools let you customize their school schedules to this level. This I have appreciated immensely, as my work schedule may change from month to month. WIS does have a good amount of academics: Chinese writing worksheets, math worksheets. This has been great for my daughter since she loves doing them. But this may not be for everyone. They do also have plenty of toys, a clean classroom, and outdoor playground so they have plenty of opportunities to play. My daughter loves her teachers, and they are very caring and attentive to her. They have even customized her learning based on her level. She has enjoyed the additional classes that are offered for an additional fee (music, Tumblebus, art). We have certainly had a great two years at this school!

My son ended up at a different facility due to a connection to my husbands work. But truth be told I knew out of all the people we interviews for care Crystal was providing the most love and intimate care. Crystal, the main caretaker, is a very experienced, loving, and dependable educator. I love that she is always there, giving my son the consistent experience, kids at that age crave. Especially since I'm hearing about the constant staffing changes in bigger childcare centers and that impact on the kids. His days at the Teaching Home are filled with play (there are many building toys, he especially enjoys), doing arts & crafts (he brings something home almost daily), and eating healthy meals (all meals and snacks are provided). Kids are even involved in preparing some foods (for example kneading dough for home made bread). There is a nice outdoor space for them to play, dig in the dirt, and run around. Wednesdays during the school year, the kids get to attend a preschool coop, where they dive into a new topic each week (eg. friendship, the letter, F, how to be a good friend, read a book about friendship, draw your best friend). He gets a ton of affection and attention without the craziness and impersonality of a large daycare. Again, we just can't recommend Reyna's daycare center enough. You can't go wrong here! P.S.. Once we picked him up early and she sent home the lunch she'd made for him. It was delicious. I hate to admit that we ate most of it :)
