You know, sometimes you just want to grab something hot, fast, and greasy for breakfast before heading out for the day... or perhaps you're a bit hungover and need something to soak up the booze. West Cornwall Pasty (rhymes with "nasty," not with "tasty") will do the trick.
The location we went to was in the lower level of the Southwark Tube station, near the exit doors. Pasties are hand pies with a meaty filling, and they would have a rotating selection including beef, chicken, and sometimes lamb or pork (veggie cheese-and-onion type varieties are also available). For breakfast, they also have sausage rolls (more or less like a hot dog), plain bread rolls, and other baked goods along those lines. My bacon bap was pretty darn basic, but also fast and cheap - the breakfast special was £3 for a roll and coffee drink, and you can't beat that.
They do a full range of espresso drinks that won't blow you away but are fine, and they have a pretty good pirate mural on their stall, so that's a bonus. read more
